I transformed this cute little reindeer plush robot from Big Lots into a scary Krampus guy. I sculpt him with paper clay because it is air dry, polymer clay and I paint him with acrylics.

I've been watching this channel for years, you actually got me sculpting, I only wish I was as prolific and creative as you are
Keep working at it! Practice is the best teacher. Try to do at least a little bit every day. And make smaller projects in the beginning.

First of all, this is a really neat idea. I actually have an dancing animatronic I took aprt years ago, I will consider modifying this way. For the clay, You can slow the drying process by misting the clay with water. if you mist it and than wrap it with reynolds it will stay wet and usuable for a few days.
More of these! Reminds me of when you first started and altered the duck statue!
Great work as always, Ace of Clay! I'm surprised you can make such heavy modifications to a plush animatronic and still keep it functional. Maybe next year, you can get an angel tree topper and make the angel more biblically accurate!

I have a few singing toys like this, where instead of a calibrated mouth mother to lip sync to the song, the jaw just flips up and down using the same motor as the swaying side to side motion

Nicely done. Have you ever thought of making up your on Krampus toy helpers like a Nutcracker, Ballerina from Nutcracker pr Swan Lake,
Sugar Plum Fairy, Mouse King, Rocking Horse, Wooden jointed horse, a different type of Jack in the box like Snake from Nightmare Before Christmas or Beetle juice, Jack o lantern in the box, Black Cat in the box, I have been free hand drawing my own since Dec 1st. Happy Holidays Ace.

Just a heads up, Krampus is half goat, so his pupils should've been horizontal like a goat rather than vertical like a snake. But I love watching your creative mind come to life!!

Maybe you could change what they are saying and put in some creepy fair use music? Anyway, it's still really cool and I love these sculpts! 😎👍

I had the exact same issues with paperclay that you did. I found it too frustrating to work with. I would suggest you give La Doll a try. It's what's called a stone clay, but it dries probably lighter than paperclay. Plus, the texture is so satisfying to work with.

Paperclay is my nemesis 🤬 I don't know how people use it and actually enjoy it 🤷♀️ I guess if you're just making things with little to no detail, it's fine. I like clay I can use for as long as I'd like and actually enjoy it without having to rush. Also, I'll have to go to goodwill or something to find some toys. I make my own animatronics using motors I get on Amazon...that are meant for rotisserie ovens 😂 and whatnot.

Love the end result but... is it just me or was the voice over volume way lower than the music? Because I couldn't understand what was being said without pulling up the volume and getting the music after at a deafening high level. Maybe it's just me but idk
