Not really. Boiling tap water just kills bacteria and germs but you still have minerals and salts in it. You get distilled water by collecting the STEAM from boiling tap water and cool it down.
Another amazing potion, love your creativity, I made a few about 5 years ago but obviously 2 weren't sufficiently sealed as have dried up, one day I'll fix them up and make some more, this one definitely, just need to find sticker paper here in Australia. I'm sure it's available just haven't bothered to track it down! ❤❤❤
My word young lady you must have a lot of bottles......not to mention a lot of shelving. Well done....your house must be very spooky around Halloween. Mr C.
i know this is a super out of place comment but i'd _love_ to see how you make stickers some day. they're so intricate and cute and personalized to every bottle, i'm so curious how you manage to do that
I appreciate you noticing the details I include. I’m not sure if I’ll ever create a video showing how I make them, because it’s a process of trial and error etc.
I'm finding that black is such a HARD color to shift. I really wanted to do a red-to-black (and the reverse) potion but more experimenting is needed. It just looks muddy with what I use ( black alcohol ink using 70% iso, glycerin, and black diamond pigments mica).
Hello young lady....whatisthebest potionthat youhavemadeto date.......one that you're really proud of.....and could you please show us how to make a book of spells.....that really looks old. Thank you. Mr C.
Hmmmmm that’s hard to pick, it might be my Wiggenweld potion only because it was my first color shift potion. But honestly it’s hard to pick a favorite. I will definitely see about making an old book of spells. 😊
So far I haven’t had that trouble as long as it’s just a little added to the distilled water. But you could always use glycerin instead of the alcohol.
I received my mica powder set and tools today but not sure which beads to order as you provided 2 links but the second one won't ship to Australia so I'm hoping the first one is the better obsess although I chose that and only got a 10g sample pack for some reason

Hello, you were asking for any potion or potion ingredients ideas. I was rewatching The Fantastic Beast movies. I don't think you have these already. I thought of a couple. I'm not sure how you spell it but I think it is Murlap? Venom the one that bites Jacob on the neck I don't think you have that? The other was Kelpie eggs? Or Baby Niffler formula?? What do you think about these ideas? 🧡
I tried the distilled water and alcohol with the water beads from your Amazon link. All the water got sucked up into the beads after they had already been soaking for hours. I’ve tried it three times now and all the water keeps getting sucked up. Any tips on how to keep the water beads from taking all the water?
@@laurenedwardsyt you need to soak them overnight until they are fully expanded and then it stops soaking up water then you add back the water it soaked up and you should be good to go
@@GrampiesCorner because the mica will settle to the bottom like the green so the liquid would be clear. The black food coloring is coloring the base liquid.
@@ellenwood719 my nails are done with gel dip powder, and this one is a black/charcoal flash glitter. The glitter gets super bright in the sun, it’s a fun one. 😊
Love this one! But how come youd water beads are white!? There are many products that are totally transparent or color mixed (im my country), needed to pay attention but I finally found the same reference. Oh, and I found some that glow in the dark, I'm gonna find a special potion for these. 😆
Will water beads work with rubbing alcohol? I’ve always used my water beads only in water, but my potions in alcohol. Just wondering if anyone has tried yet?
I made a mermaid themed bottle a few months back with clear water beads in a blue water and glycerine mix with mica. After a few days the beads started to shrink then a few weeks later the whole thing exploded! Glass, blue liquid and beads everywhere! Thankfully no one was in the room. I don't understand what happened. I've seen a few people using water beads and no one has mentioned having this happen, any idea what I did wrong please?
@@lizziflaherty4317 that’s really odd, I’ve never heard of that happening. Were your water beads fully enlarged the first time? The only thing I can figure is that they kept expanding and was too many and too much for the bottle. I’m not sure though, all I know is I tested mine in full sun on 100 degree days where max expansion should have happened and the potion was just fine. 😕
@@CookingandCraftChick I pre-expanded them in plain water, whether that made a difference and then only had about a quarter to a third of the bottle full of them so they could move around. I had wondered about heat as it was in a room that gets really hot but if you haven't had that issue then I don't understand it at all. The bottle was one with a swing top and clasp rather than a cork, I can't really see that affecting it. Maybe it was a weird, dangerous fluke
@@lizziflaherty4317 It’s possible your bottle got too hot and it just over expanded. Idk. Thats super weird though. It sounds like the water beads probably had nothing to do with it, my guess is the bottle would have done that with just liquid, and the heat. Which is still super weird. I’m sorry that happened to you, I’ve never had that happen ☹️
@@CookingandCraftChick possibly, which is a little worrying. Thank you for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. I will admit it made me nervous of water beads but if you've not heard of it happening I might try them again. Thank you
