I still believe they need to trade Fox. While wins feel good, let’s not pretend this team is a contender. This is fool’s gold, we need to trade Fox for the best return possible and set ourselves up for contention. The playoffs should not be a goal. Winning it all should be. Even with Fox they are currently just good enough not to be bad but aren’t a great team either. If we could wrestle a player like a Castle or Cam Thomas away and get some picks (first or second/swaps too) that would be outstanding.
Funny how brown is known for defense. But Christie might even be the better defensive coach. He really just might be. And this is what is going to get the kings back into the playoffs clutch defense in the 4th quarter. And Christie’s coaching will be the difference
Thank You Coach Doug! Playing Trey Lyles at the 4 with Sabonis, playing Trey Lyes at the 4 with Alex Len. “Thank You for Playing Alex Len!” playing a normal front line, allows Demar and Keegan to play the 3 spot! Yes Demar and Keegan are 3s in this NBA. Coach Brown, refused to play Alex Len, which was dumb. Last night we witness what having a rim protector does for the team. We all know Coach Brown, would have played Trey Lyles at center last night. SMH!!! The Kings finally have PACE! Because they can get REBOUNDS!!! Again thank you Coach Doug, on the Warriors we go!
The Grizzlies offense is actually really good now. They had one of the best turnarounds ever, going from 30th in the league last year to top five this year. They implemented a new offensive system that uses very few screen plays. It’s kind of mind blowing how few screens they use compared to the average NBA team. The Warriors were recently blown out by them and Draymond commented on how they were very confused playing against their offensive system. The Grizzlies have a lot of players able to take players off the dribble, so it’s a lot of penetrating to draw in the defense. But players also rotate around from one side of the floor to the other, to draw their man over, opening up easier lanes. Their whole offense basically plays ring-around-the-rosie on the perimeter, constantly moving from side to side and shuffling, all without ever really screening. The “Thinking Basketball” channel has a really good breakdown on how it works.
This is what we want to see, energy and fun. I like that Doug is focusing on positives, coach needs to inspire and give confidence to his players, not whip them as soon as they put a foot wrong. He is also willing to learn, which is needed if he wants to move away from the mistakes of past. Wish it had happened way earlier, but we are still in it. What we should not overlook is that the three wins came against pretty banged up teams, but on the positive we could not win against banged up teams prior to Doug.
16 percenter. Not delusional. It's just way too much season left when the skid happened and too much talent. Let's get to all star break then reevaluate panic. 3 in a row Triple beams! Let's go!
Doug Christie does a better job of letting players get a feel for a game, whereas Mike Brown always seemed to plug in players based on attributes and moments like assets in a video game. The game flow has just been better, even accounting for the bump in energy a coaching change brings.
a reason why demar missed those first two fts is bc of this awful lady behind me who was screaming so loud i couldn’t hear after the game. i stood up and distracted her for the third shot so he wouldn’t miss all three. you’re welcome everyone!! 😭😂
What's up! Deuce & Mo. Devin is on the rise. He might be our version of Marcus Smart off the bench this year. Future starting 2 guard, my opinion. Let's Go Kings! Deuce, great video break down on Carter. Much appreciated 👍
Grizzlies are a real pain in the ass team. The only way to beat them is being tougher than them and the Kings absolutely were. Btw, I liked Devin Carter's energy off the bench. My first impression is that he's a Davion Mitchell upgrade. I think that IF this team continue to play like this can beat anyone. P.S.: McNair needs to find a trade partner for Huerter asap.
It bugs me that we have this 'player power = bad to push out coach narrative'. This isn't college or highschool. These are all professionals. Imagine if this were a company, and the Managers no longer had the trust of the workers, and production was suffering. Would we expect the board to do mass layoffs and protect the managers? Because that happens - and we criticize companies for that. I think its an immature argument - we expect undying loyalty of players for any coach - even if the coach goes on a 20 game losing streak, players are expected to say ' its on us. We have to do better, we can't throw coach under the bus'. It is just part of this false expectation fans foist on to players and stars - stars are heroes, and heroes (in movies) don't leave anyone behind. It doesnt matter how much they get hurt or who else gets killed, the hero will keep everyone on their side alive. This hero complex we lavish on star players is dumb. This is a team sport. From coaches down to equipment staff and everyone in between, everyone is there to help the team win. If you don't do your job (equipment manager gives ill fitting shoes to players), you get canned. And Mike Brown just was no longer contributing. P.s. i do think the reason brown was canned was not because he went after fox. But because he may have disagreed with Monte about what kind of players they need.
Mike Brown didn't even consistently use the type of player he needs, e.g. Keon Ellis. Bigger problem for MB is he is always confused about what he has and what he needs. That confusion and chaos translated to wacky rotations detrimental to developing any kind of team chemistry
Im happy about the wins, not getting excited until we get to .500 again. Kings have to go on a good streak, make some kinda trade for a legit PF and maybe a depth piece or two. P.s. kinda disheartening that nobody had Fox's back on that spill
I’m super disappointed… Mo, we didn’t see your purple fog “hands in the air” dance. That’s half of what makes the purple fog tradition so fantastic! You owe us a dance hahaha.
Doug Christie is the substitute teacher who everyone thinks should get the permanent position. Mike Brown was phenomenal but not without his flaws. Christie brings calm vibes and is going to thrive in a main coaching role. Things that have defined his tenure so far like playing defensively minded rookies are making it feel good to be a fan. I love how he's rallied the troops so far
Ive asked this many times online and have never gotten a straight answer. If Mike Brown as head coach is "phenomenal" or even "good", what is he good at? Can you name one thing specifically?
Some comments on here are hilarious…can say what ya want…the team has responded to DC I don’t know the disconnect that brown had with the team…but it’s clear there was one ..is everything fixed and perfect…of course not..but they ARE playing better that’s just the truth..gimme a break with the negativity…geez
I was 100% for Mike Brown getting relieved of his duties but the honeymoon period is very real. Interim coaches almost never change the win% much, historically. Time will tell
Sucks to know I can’t swallow water anymore when I get older. 😢 my biggest complaint was clock management at the end and why kings did run more time off the clock. Way too many possessions. But good game. Go kings
yeah Keegan plays “defense” but not seeing his mopping around energy was noticeable. He slows down the offense as well. Demar can play slow also but atleast he has confidence when he does it. At this point in time you can’t trade trey lyles. They have to hope someone sees value in huerter and that they can fix him. Still believe if the kings want a starting caliber overall good player they will have to part with Keon or carter or first round picksss or yes Keegan.
Get Jimmy Butler in Kevin trade deadline, bench Murray behind butler or Derozen. 2 year or how ever long and much as butlers is contract offer same as Monk gets. That amount a steal, pennies on the dollar. Rookie Carter can play the 2 or the 1. 14-15 solidly deep team, no more bench troubles. Set.
How are you feelin about the Kings NOW?
Offense is starting to look like it did last two seasons
I predicted that change of coach will bring good to the team. Seems it is working well now :)
Only winning because low iq low energy Keegan is not playing
We win 4 out 6 the next few outings even a 3 out of 5 and were back in things
I still believe they need to trade Fox. While wins feel good, let’s not pretend this team is a contender. My moment of the game was when Ellis told Doug to leave him in after two fast fouls and the offense blue up starting with Ellis dunk and put back
Awesome sequence
Never stopped believing that’s why always at the game. Woot woot❤
Love it!
Shout out to A Len with the defense
Some big blocks last night!
3 wins in a row! “That’s what they call a winning streak.” 😄 👑🏀 The fog is back!!! 💜
Funny how brown is known for defense. But Christie might even be the better defensive coach. He really just might be. And this is what is going to get the kings back into the playoffs clutch defense in the 4th quarter. And Christie’s coaching will be the difference
Basically Devon Carter has a high basketball IQ
5 rebounds in less than 11 minutes at 6’3 is insane. He might be as good as advertised
Doug trusting the bench has been huge. Don’t wanna get ahead of myself but the team looks so different with DC coaching them.
Thank You Coach Doug! Playing Trey Lyles at the 4 with Sabonis, playing Trey Lyes at the 4 with Alex Len. “Thank You for Playing Alex Len!” playing a normal front line, allows Demar and Keegan to play the 3 spot! Monte needs to call the wizards to get Jonas! We need more grit when sabonis gets off the court
Len is grittier than Jonas ... Jonas can't play defense in the modern NBA, Len moves better
@@BrianDonatoLen sucks
Minutes and rotations look better too.
I’m glad Keon is playing a lot of minutes and Doug is going easy on him with defensive mistakes
Totally
It’s crazy what happens when you play Keon more!

My mistake, they went from 30th in PPG last year to number 1, as of today.
Last night was rad! Stop freaking us out those 4th quarters!

Interesting observation
Fox touches Pippens head Bane steps to him and confronts him. Jackson hits Fox HARD and nobody on our team does shit they just look at him.

Devin carter has that unhinged mo energy!
I wonder if doug coaching will reopen up keegans offensive game. Fingers 🤞
Love you guys hell ya!!!!
Hell yeah!

Grizzlies are DAAAAWGS. Loved Devin's impact
This kings team already has COACH DC Identity! Not gona win them all i know but the effort is freaking awesome everywhere
Sabonis looked like a child next to edey lol
Edey is a GIGANTIC human. One of the biggest I’ve ever seen. Has Great simple post moves.
Sabonis had to work so hard to keep him off the glass.
Edey is a monster!!
Doug Christie Coach of the Year

Three straight let’s gooo
Lets keep it rolling
I forgot they played!!!!! Saw the hard foul on Fox late in the fourth.
LET'S FOG THINGS UP
Im happy about the wins, not getting excited until we get to .500 again. Kings have to go on a good streak, make some kinda trade for a legit PF and maybe a depth piece or two.

Is Monk our best player? Seriously... My favorite King since J Will...
No, but he's clutch.
Yes, and he’s getting better by the day … just need some other dudes to get out of his way
Consistently keep vitamin C in your system
Some comments on here are hilarious…can say what ya want…the team has responded to DC I don’t know the disconnect that brown had with the team…but it’s clear there was one ..is everything fixed and perfect…of course not..but they ARE playing better that’s just the truth..gimme a break with the negativity…geez

Monk is King
FACT
Watch out lakers and warriors..the kings will get back what you owe the kings. They played as mad as hell..😏
Doesn’t seem like we’re missing much without Keegan… trade him for the big wing we all know we need
Eh. Lets see Keegan get healthy with how this pace is. Bet he looks better
Anyone else see DC sniffing something right before the game started? lol what was that?
Hahaha didnt notice

What would his energy look like with Doug? Could be different
@ which I’m interested in seeing how he is in the next week or two

WAY BETTER TEAM WITHOUT MURRAY !
WE WILL LOSE AS SOON AS HE COMES BACK
