As your usual person who started with 0 back in 2018, playing them sequentially made this the first one where I actually wanted to learn on a deeper level. Bounding and the general design emphasis on counters and quickstep positioning are just inherently enticing for someone wanting something more substantial. I love Y3, based chad game

It's because the remastered versions have some problems unfortunately, mainly the length of the quickstep and enemy ai is wack, if you can emulate the ps3 version i recommend that, if not then the remaster is still fine to enjoy the game

Or third one,The most tortured yet satisfy just in case you're no skill : War God Amulet + Calming Towel so you can both keep doing heat cancel while being able to use heat actions whenever you need to. Or Payback Ring + Calming Towel to boost combo damage while prevent heat to popup so you can kept do it instead of have to stop because of that bizarre system.
I honestly think the combat style is cool, and i love the old version instead of kiwami, but i _hate_ how enemies fight back. I remember that i went on a boss fight that lasted _longer_ than the first shimano boss fight in kiwami 1 where literally everyone who plated the game for the first time got annoyed at.
Do you know if the picking up an enemy off the ground thing is tied to the frame rate? Would switching to 30fps (if you’re playing on PC) fix the issue or is it just the remaster being messed up
Hey man, really enjoy these commentary vids of you talking about gameplay of Y3 goated stuff, they entertaining and informative (really helpful for boss faxxing) But if you think your commentary stuff is weak, how about talking about some stories you had with the game, like when you first got into Yakuza, boss that took you long as fuck to beat, or how long you stayed up playing Yakuza until getting told to sleep I dunno if you feel like it tho but subtitles are pretty funny too, keep up the uploads
I don't feel like it's really possible to make yakuza 3 easy, considering maxed out combo speed and quickstep cancel is unlocked when you've finished the game. To my knowledge, you need these to actually do long wallbound comboes.
funny how un-straightforward these strats are to fix the combat. its still badly designed jank, the game shouldn't just block over 95% of your attacks and force you to brute force the game with obtuse cheese strats, but once you learn the cheese strats and become one with the jank, its really fun and satisfying combat. its just hidden behind all that bullshit.

Fax. Bounding requires skill, good timing, positioning, etc. Great mechanic that contributes to making combat fun
Dodging is viable in PC when you get Quickstep Restoration mod, otherwise you won't have a good dodging range

Quick step restoration is kinda essential for the PC port, like theres no reason to not get it
It's a QoL that should've been included in the port, yeah. The combat was designed for it, but it was broken by the port
3:45 I don't remember too clearly but I'm *pretty* sure you can dodge it on the xbox version due to the shorter quickstep compared to PS4/PC

Yakuza 3’s combat definitely has its ups and downs, especially at the beginning of the game when Kiryu is underleveled.
