She had other hits too, I think in the same year or a bit later.....I heard the production house screwed her over tho, so it took her a long time to put out another album.
🙋♂️La Roux used to be 2 people. Elly Jackson was the vocalist and Ben Langmaid did the production most of the behind the scenes stuff. Really ignorant to just be going around calling her the only part of a duo. Sorryboutit

Bulletproof"
Been there, done that, messed around
I'm having fun, don't put me down
I'll never let you sweep me off my feet
I won't let you in again
The messages I've tried to send
My information's just not going in
I'm burning bridges shore to shore
I break away from something more
I'm not turned off to love until it's cheap
Been there, done that, messed around
I'm having fun, don't put me down
I'll never let you sweep me off my feet
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof
I won't let you turn around
And tell me now I'm much too proud
To walk away from something when it's dead
Do, do, do your dirty words
Come out to play when you are hurt
There are certain things that should be left unsaid
Tick, tick, tick, tick on the watch
And life's too short for me to stop
Oh, baby, your time is running out
I won't let you turn around
And tell me now I'm much too proud
All you do is fill me up with doubt
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof [2x]
This time...I'll be...bulletproof [2x]
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof
This time baby,
I'll be bulletproof [2x]
Thanks
this song gives off the energy of 5th grade gym class, couldn't say why
When the gym teacher whipped out the jump ropes and hoola hoops
when they would take the radio out-
dodgeball?
Unexplainable but you fucking got it
I was in 4th grade and i agree. My childhood
When this song was out, I was 6 years old. One summer my family and I went camping. It was time for bed and my two older brothers and I got in bed and my dad whipped out the radio and this song was on. This song will forever remind me of camping and of course, my childhood
This is nice
Tgat was 40 seconds of my life ill never get back, but at least the world knows now.
You were only 6? Wow
@@cosmosisrose I remember lots of little memories like this. Especially when I hear a song of my childhood, sometimes I can remember what I was doing or where I was

This is one of those songs that you loved when it first came out and after all this time you forget about it but then you hear it somewhere and you're like wait a minute that's my jam!
1000%!!!! 🤣🤣
Instant goosebumps when I heard it again after years
@@snippie8318 Fr, i heard it coming from my friends phone (I think it's a tictok song or something now, sadly), but as soon as I heard it I instantly recognized it. Amazing song
literally
Literally had the same reaction today. I as into this song when it first came out. Then I’m in an Uber, I’m already listening to music in my AirPods, and the driver was playing this song. This song brings back so many memories
So proud to admit that I discovered this song when I was 10 years old! I'm now 22 and it's so nostalgic.
Same!!!
I did when I was 8 and I became obsessed with la roux!!! I turn 20 in 8 days :’)))
I discovered it when 39 I guess you're never to old I loved it then still love it at 51 go figure?
This came when Lady Gaga started her carrier too
Same with me!! Think I was 12 when this came out, brings back some good memories of easier times!! Turning 24 soon!! :)
Every time I pop a perc I’m playing this. Perc popping song (P.P.S). 🕺
how the hell is this 8 years old already?!
Ben Richards I know right!! I feel old now
Joe Mishata i was 30 when this came out. im now nearly 40...😭
I know what you mean I used to listen to this when I was about 7, 8 years old
Joe Mishata I was 7 when it came out and I'm 15 turning 16 now
Ben Richards I was 7 when it came out now I'm 15 turning 16
This song is the one song out of hundreds that give off the strongest childhood vibes
Its so 2009-2010 that it makes me cry.

The lyrics and electronica are great. And how did she achieve that hairstyle?
Hair gel would be my guess, maybe mousse.
Wtf, the hair products i find don't work nearly that well. :(

Make friends with a hairdresser, they have access to better stuff than we can buy off the shelf. I know from over a decades experience with a ponytail down to my backside, try styling that with off the shelf gel, mousse or hairspray.
Redken Powdergrip and Redken Control Addict combined with teasing. I'm a stylist, my coworker has her hair like this sometimes. :)

couldnt think of the name of this song or the artist for 2 years, I used to hear this a lot serving tables, then boom, its on an Allegra 24 commercial @laroux get that bag, great music last forever!!!!!
I don't mean to rag on you I swear but she only says "bulletproof" like 25 times, usually if they say it a lot that's the name of the song
@@nogetouttamyface I never heard bulletproof, maybe its her accent, but until I saw the video after the Allegra rabbit hole, and saw the title of the song, and watched the video.... then I was like ohh, bulletproof. Again I def didn't hear that, and it probably wont be the last time I don't hear the words in a song correctly( people hear different accents differently depending on where they live or grew up), especially nowadays, it's hard to understand kids talking under 18, everyone talks tictok dialect
But shout out to me being highlighted for liking music from somewhere I'm not from, getting "ragged on" because I didn't hear bulletproof said when I heard the song in passing while shopping, commercial, restaurant or where ever else and being like, "I have to find the name of this song one day." then find it and get highlighted on some internet bs. Awesome times!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song was a total bop when I was in 5th grade. Now I’m a college graduate and it’s still a bop.
Bop?
Urban dictionary "bop"
"when the songs beat is so dope you gotta bounce to it a little
"dang bro that beats so hard, you got me boppin'"
This sounds like old slang, but i suspect this is another cool British term. Dig it.
Who knew Fry traveled back in time to make pop music?

Me too. The synths sound a lot like something Vince Clarke would produce.
Omg when I was little I had the biggest womancrush on her! She is so pretty! I don't know why people keep saying she is ugly because she clearly isn't.
Probably her mouth and lack of visible eyebrows in this video.
MrRamto13 Her clothes too also could affect her boyish look.
i would kill to have her wardrobe
I completly agree with you such a geourgoes rolemodel it shocks me that some people have the guts to call her less than she is if i bad to choose from1to10 she would be an 9.99 no doubt about that the fact that some poeple are saying things like shes ugly your wrong yes,its your oppinan but dont take her for anything less that she is the majority of the poeple think shes mortifying thats the effects and the makeup yes they are interesting choices but they arent bad look benhind the makeup and relise she is a beautiful talented person
Its the make up that is overboard!
