only manny machado thought of that play..........the rest of third basement in the world would it go for the doble play.........thats how intelligent Mr. Manny...is!!!!!!
The problem with Suarez is he has to cool it with his fastball. The last few games I’ve seen him pitch, he has notoriously shook off the signal given. Over and over and tries to go machismo mode on the batter and they know 100% a fastball is coming and bam! They get a hit. When Suarez is out there Higgy needs to call time-out and tell him just that…mix your pitches. To me, this solves his issues he’s had.
Yes, all the extraordinarily good things that have gone right for the Padres this year should be noted but to me should be reason to sing the praises of the organization. I don't see this season as singular but a continuation of an organization that has not been afraid to take chances, evolve and do creative things behind the scenes out of sight of the public. Every individual in the organization must be hard at work doing things differently than one would expect because when not one or a few fortunate things happen but when one thing after another is much better than usual it means it's no longer chance but superior practices that must be happening. Just goes to show that critics of the Padres organization led by Preller this past year really didn't know what they were talking about. It was fair to say that performances on the field didn't meet expectations but in retrospect those critics couldn't recognize the positive things that were happening.
Don't demonize Suarez, he has had too good of a year for us, 35 saves plus 9 wins. Without him we would not be only 2 games behind LA. This year has been special, a total team effort, every player struggles at some point during the season, the Pads have played as a team all year, they picked each other up when needed and stuck together through thick and thin especially the last third of the year. I've been a fan since the PCL at Westgate Park, great times at the Murphy were rare (only 2 WS, Tigers and Yankees). Once Petco was built the vibe changed, downtown's Gas Lamp rocks on game day. This team reminds me of the '84 team who fought to win the NL Pennant and go to the WS against Detroit a powerhouse that year. This year is the "Year of the Friar," Peter and Tony are our secret weapons. Look at our defense last night, great play after great play by everyone, it reminded me of the old classic movie, "Angels in the Outfield", they won it all in the film then, let's go win it all NOW guys, for Peter, Tony, the city, the fans, the past players who are no longer with us and those that are, but most of all for yourselves and San Diego! POSITIVE VIBRATIONS PADRES, YOU GOT THIS!
9 times a game ending tipple play has happened in 239,000 mlb games played A .000037% chance of it happening. Never before has it happened to clinch a playoff spot. WoW 😮😮😮 😂😂😂
I was rightfully nervous when Suarez came out in the 9th. Shildt wasted Estrada last night. Tonight, if we are in the lead in the 9th, he needs to use Estrada or Scott. Too much is at stake to risk giving second chances. These are playoff type games. Shildt needs to manage the bullpen as if we were in October.
First comment. Wow what a game! History in the making. Padres for the sweeeep! 🧹 San Diego is legit a better baseball club than LA, can we say Billion Dollar bust?
I'm definitely not calling LA a bust but it is definitely nice to be on the winning side when playing the Dodgers. I don't hear LA fans talk about owning SD anymore!🤙
We have angels in the outfield, Ty PS!❤
Javi!!!! Can you believe it??? We’re going nuts in SD bro
WHY WOULD HE NOT BELIEVE IT🤔🤔🤣🤣

Manny Machado has said that he is looking forward to playing the Astros again this year, which means the World Series, hopefully he is right

To be honest I trust Estrada more than Suarez at the moment. Jerry is nasty. He's got the strikeout stuff, and that becomes VERY important in October.
I totally agree. Sit Suarez on a shelf unless we have a huge lead and make him a middle reliever. Adams, Scott and then Estrada.
💛 PETE 💛
Can't remember the last time the Pads turned a triple play.
2010 apparently!

BRO SUAREZ HAS SCREWED UP RECENTLY BUT I BET YOU WERE NOT SAYING THIS THE 1ST 25 GAMES HE WAS LIGHTS OUT💯💯💯
Yeah, I think Suarez 's problem is in his head. Hopefully he can get back on track.
