I mean, during the 2016 Monaco GP he overtook several cars around the outside at the top of the hill on wet conditions with an Haas so I'd say he can handle himself pretty well in these streets.
Pedro's 1970 victory at the frightening old Spa was one of the great drives. There's some really scary b&w footage of him sideways through Raidillon at massive speed.
Grazie!! Video bellissimo !! Bravo Gutierrez!! Ricordo molto bene il grande PEDRO RODRIGUEZ ! Avevo 13 anni quando PEDRO è volato via !!! Un bacio in cielo dall'Italia. RIPOSA IN PACE CAMPIONE SFORTUNATO ❤️❤️❤️
Enhorabuena!!
Fantastic to see this BRM again from one of my idols in motorsport, the Unforgettable Pedro Rodriguez. Congratulations to Gutiérrez for the honor and for choosing to race with a helmet like Pedro's. It makes the view from the car even more wonderful.
There is an interview with Graham Hill at Monaco later in his career, maybe his last attempt on the circuit and he explains all the gear changes and clutch work, and speed/breaking required for the race. I saw the interview years ago, it may have been part of another documentary, but Esteban's comments reminded me of the interview.
"The gearbox is completely manual, which is probably the most challenging part". We're living in a world were the newest generation of drivers have little to no experience using manual transmissions. Heck, I don't think it'll be much longer before the only people who even understand the concept of an H pattern will be limited to just historic racing.
also i believe it's quite different to drive a manual street car than a manual formula 1 car, having to make split second decisions to keep himself off the wall
@@Someguy1785 Yeah well if we’re talking about racing drivers, they already have that ability to make rapid decisions/ actions. My point is that many young racing drivers from Europe, Asia, Africa, and parts of South America will have driven (and likely raced) manual cars when they were younger and during their early career. Kinda like how Lando Norris drove a Mini Cooper as his first car. I doubt he would’ve resisted the urge to practice quick shifting and heel/toe in that thing. So referring to the original comment, there’ll definitely be a few more generations that’ll “understand the concept of H pattern” with an exception of North America and a few others.
I respect Pato Oward and Lando (even while I dislike Lando) as I´ve seen them on board the Ayrton McLaren at the Goodwood festival giving life to that car... As long as new driver generations maintain interest and actively seek oportunity to drive the older machines we have some hope. sadly racing for racing´s sake is a bit lost.
Bravo Esteban!!
*This very special car should be driven by Sergio "checo" Pérez: a true mexican Pilot with a brilliant career at Formula One;* and not by this poor skilled "rich boy." Esteban Gutiérrez simply sucks as a Pilot. Honestly.
Wow. Full marks to Esteban for taking on the challenge of driving that car at Monaco. No room for error!

Appreciate all BRM team for letting Esteban Gutierrez drive that beautiful F1 car,

Esteban Gutiérrez seems like a really nice guy. BTW, car #16 jumped the gun big time at the start of the race.
This must have been truly awesome for Esteban.
Genial presentación de Esteban y homenaje a Pedro Rodríguez, viva México!
V12 BRM and V12 Matra line astern- this is heaven! Sadly the on-board camera doesn't record the sound very well.
Saludos a Esteban Gutuerres.
Arriba Esteban!!! Viva México!!
Lovely cars! I miss the sound of the V12's.
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Fantastico 🇲🇽 🇲🇨🏎️🏁
“this is the mexican way”

Back tires are massive for those little 13” wheels
Vamos Esteban. Gran carrera.

You mustn't be from Europe. Most people still use manual transmission in their road cars here.
@@harrybaldwin7517 I was just thinking about race drivers, but yeah. Public vehicles in North America must be 99% auto by now.

wish F1 would go back to the simplicity of these monster Go Karts.
Agreed, don't wreak it
Where is the full race???
less talk and more video scenes of the event, so was that car driven by Adrián Fernández or Gutiérrez??

¿No lo habia corrido Adrian Fernández?
Respect to Guttierez

Talk like Pérez

Why did you let that dude to take such a car, put Checo or Pato O’Ward ro drive it. Finally Esteban didn’t crash!
