U17 looks good! I want to see Ian James and Christopher Cupps as the CB pairing. I'm disappointed in no Okoduwa, I would love to get him for U17s. I also want to see Tan over Vanderbroucke. I love 3 of the 4 DM/CMs. I want to see Mehmeti or Emenalo over Sanchez. The attacking options are stacked with Sullivan, Carrizo, Hall, Albert and Johnson! I prefer Berchimas over Cowell as my only gripe there. CFs are unbelievable. IF we can get Staff, him and Jones might be a top 4 CF pool at U17 World Cup! Grade: A U19s: I like the GKs and FBs, nothing to say there. I do want to give Dominik Chong-Qui a chance. CBs are perfect for this group! CM and DM is where I'm lost. I want to see Worth and Lane over Guske and Garcia, and I worry about overall athleticism here. AM/W is once again loaded with options! Olney, Gozo and Berchimas are the 3 main standouts here tho. CFs are perfect with Dausch and Glover. I do want to see Ellis get time. Overall, not a bad roster at all. Grade: C+ U20s: GKs I am a believer in Eyestone, but not Beaudry. The only thing I can maybe give is if Marko wants to look at more people, but Beavers needs to be here. FBs I love seeing Duru get called up! I'm very high on that kid. CBs are the right 3 with Banks, Akinmboni and Wynder. Again, I love the CMs and DMs. AM/W scares me bc I don't think we have enough true talent at W for this group. It's not that it's bad, it's that there's not enough. I don't like that Miller is listed as a forward. Maybe, hopefully, I'm pleasantly surprised. CF Marko is wrong for not bringing Zambrano. Not bad, but definitely some head scratchers. After the disastrous Olympics, I do NOT trust Marko Mitrovic. Grade: B+
Great analysis, definitely agree that the U19 roster has the most selection mistakes. Really excited about the U17s, especially the chance to get a look at some of the newer guys.
That u-17 looks stacked, I hope we take the best to the u-17 world cup.
