Bill Hader is an incredible comedy talent and has recently proved he can act in serious dramatic roles. If you haven’t seen the HBO series Barry, I highly recommend
LOL. Never knew about these Vinny skits until yesterday but they sure are funny. Always starting with the guest not understanding italian. The host then looks at the two guys always eating pasta on the side there at the table quarrelling with him about it etc. Hilarious stuff.
A lot of Italian tv hosts will still talk to international guests in Italian a lot of the time though. Like that's tragically accurate. Sure, nowadays guests will have an earpiece with a translator working for them (and a few years back there was literally a translator standing by them) but this is absolutely accurate in the way that Italian tv personalities just refuse to learn and use English, pretty much exclusively old ones. Nowadays young hosts can absolutely carry on an interview in English, but most hosts who are older than 40 still just speak Italian to their guests and rely on translators to assist.
Always amazed at how bill acts in this one. Unlike the usual sketches, this one must not have a full script for his part so he's mostly improvising his italian im guessing. It's of course mocking italian but still doing it seamlessly

I never really cared for Drew Barrymore but I just watched Norm Macdonald has a show with Drew and now I know she is one of the sweetest persons in this world.
I'm italian and enjoid it so much. However it's a bitter-sweet feeling see how americans represent us: stuck with 90's (so 20 years late respect the States) and with some stereotypical characters in the background acting more like stereotypical characters from Jersey rather than Italy! Hader sounds more like spanish to me with some italian words here and there. Love how in every sketch Forte says ''Quanti fagioli ci sono nel bicchiere!?'' that means something totally nonsense like ''How many beans are in the glass!?''
