Thank you for making this very helpful video! I hadn't heard about the effectiveness of blackout curtains. And the candles were a great idea too! Some other tricks I learned in an apartment with dysfunctional heating were: 1) Run a slow-cooker/crock pot. At least then, you're using the heat twice, and you can get them cheap second-hand. 2) Have the electric blanket on your bed underneath your body; that way when the heat rises, it passes by your body rather than leaving upwards from the top of you. And it's more efficient to just warm your body area rather than the whole place if that's an option. 3) If your lifestyle allows, consider a loft bed or bunk bed. Both give vertical storage in a small (basement) space, and if you sleep on top, you're up higher where it is warmer. 4) If your landlord allows, plastic the windows.

Thank you for watching! Definitely going to try the crock pot and electric blanket come next winter.

First week was lit, it was a blessed week... Finally started working from the office, it was exciting at first but with the cold outside, I think I'm going to be working from home more 🤣 (at least for now). I just recently remembered I'm a student 😂 and Exams are starting in February... Two project reports and presentations are due this week... 😭I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders but I serve a living God...
I also received some new shoes from my parents for New year and they arrived last week... (Lol... Receiving things from my family gives me joy nowadays, I don't know why 🤷🏽‍♂️)...
And to top it all up, I started the week by having a call with my favourite celebrity RUclipsr! 😊
The winter tips were very insightful, please drop the link to where you ordered the blackout curtains... It's funny I watch fireplace RUclips videos as well and sometimes with smooth Jazz... It sets the best mood for anything 😌

@@MaryamWonda Hmm... Exam prep is not going well o 😌. I need someone to knock my head to start focusing more on studying...
It's crazy how all the IKEA stores in central Frankfurt are not operational for some reason, the nearest one is 35minutes drive.
I ordered one from Amazon already tho. It came yesterday and I didn't like it. I might have to return it and order another one.

My first week was great, started well, Got 2 words that I've been really praying to hear from God, I got 2 alerts that held me for the week, I was able to read a book in the first week, I also decided to try my CA application again, but not yet. Although along the way I was sad for no particular reason, I also have started to default in my bible reading, still talking to someone that I know is totally wrong for me..my first week in summary. But in all, I give thanks to God.

Thank you so much for sharing Deborah. A book in the first week, that is so good.
When you do start your application, let me know.
It happens. If you’re on a plan where they give you daily reading and you miss a day. No problem! Just cover it the next day in your reading. What you don’t want to do is skip that day.
If you want to talk, you can always send me message on my public Instagram page.

But it begs the question if the portable heater is better and cost effective than the central heater.
