Having her change to look more icewing like with the necklace on is so creative omg! The participants did so phenomenal holy cow, and I love this song too!!! Definitely one of my favorite maps from this mapathon!
I never thought about Whiteout looking more like an icewing when she put the necklace on, but its something that Arctic would definitely do so she would be able to marry into the royal familly. I really like that and think it was clever! Love this map btw!
I really like how this establishes Whiteout's comfort doll early so that when the necklace warps her, there's such a jarring sign of just how wrong things are

One thing I think we all Can Agree on is that DarkStalker was at least a Good Bigger Brother to Whiteout. He protected her even thought he went a big Extreme he was at least saved White out

I think this is one of my favorite whiteout maps. Everything was timed perfectly, the designs for each character are unique and recognizable, + the animators really gave it their all (Arctic’s anger??, Darkstalker’s frantic searching? Whiteout’s confusion/horror?). Fantastic work!

Wanted to point out something awesome i noticed during each part!
The lightning theif - darkstalkers lil jump towards whiteout was ADORABLE and was epicly animated
Jupiter! - three moons! That posing and perspective of each character is wonderfully done
Dangerous doodles? - whiteout n' darkstalkers little flight/hops was super cute and really smooth, i loved it
sH? - the moons in the back framed your art beautifully
Ajka Deba / softasliams? - whiteouts hug is so fun, I replayed that part like ten times
Echointhedark?- the grainy texture on the backround is SO cool
( sorry if any of those are wrong, I just assumed since they're all together )
JustsomeRando - all the paintings are super cute, I love how they look!
Empyreal the albino beetlewing - I love all the details you put into the animation
Kyklone - This is BEAUTIFUL, the lighing, THE ANIMATION, also the detail of darkstalkers scroll is amazing, I adore this part!
Igige alpha - I really love how you drew each of their expressions
Milky dragon - vjskgkskd, that lipsync is beautiful
Wildflowers / soft as liams - beautiful lighting wow
Chilipupper / Aquaturtle12 - The animation is SO smooth and super cute!!
Vincent101 / echointhedark - the posing is very nice, I really like the annimation is whiteouts jaw getting grabbed!
Echoindark - that was AMAZING, like oh my pantala, that animation was epic
Copper - I loved your use of motion, something about your part was just so pretty

Foxxarts / watersplash - I really like how you two did your flying animations, and on waterspalshs part, the grin and growl expressions were so funny / cute
Justbored727 / sword stryk - something about this part is very fun but I cant name it sorry 😭 , I really loved rewatching it
Bluetwilight / sH - The quick door opening was smooth and grabbed my attention alot!
KrakenzdeSeawing - the blur and switching between frames was very well done, the lighting was also very pretty
Spark blaze - the expressions were on point!! The animation of darkstalker creating the blade ( + blade design itself ) is SO GOOD, one of my favourite parts.
Brokenfire - Your expressions hold so much emotion, I love them! The scene where white goes back to normal is just how I imagined it while reading the books! Super well done
Flinto72 / dangerous doodles - I love all the details you put in!
Ahh no, another group, this is super cute, but I dont know whos name to put where lol, im going to assume its left to right,
Flinto72 - This is eye apeasing, the lineart is smooth, the pose is literally epic, I think this is my favourite part out all the ones you made :3
Dangerous doodles - I like how shoked they look! The purple under their wings is a nice touch
Echo in the dark - This is BEAUTIFUL, I adore this drawing so much, the blending is wonderful and the character design is AMAZING!!!
Softasliams / AMO - the perspective is very nice! Adds lots of depth in both of your pieces!
And props to whichever of you made the backround, its beautiful
Night storm - That walk cycle is very nice! It's super smooth :D
Alpine the artwing - It is so hard to draw frontfacing dragons, let alone animate it! And you did it amazingly! Some of the best I've ever since!! The taking off animation was also gorgeous, + super smoth!!!
I could'nt see anything where it said the artist at the end! Whoever they are did a beautiful job on the flying animation! It looks like something I'd see in an actual animated series!!!
I know most of the animators wont see this, but all of you did a wonderful job!! I can tell each of you put a lot of effort into this! I can't name a single part that was poorly done ✨️💫

On a real note, I just want to say how fantastic this turned out. Everyone worked their asses off and it totally paid. Can't believe I got to see this Map grow from a silly lil impulse idea in a late night VC to this finished masterpiece. It was an honor to watch it grow and help in the ways I could. Super proud of everyone and the work they put in as well as you Echo. Don't stop dropping bangers!

This is one of the best wof maps I’ve seen in awhile!!
Jesus christtt I’m not even into Wings of Fire anymore and I barely watch MAPs, but this couldn’t help but catch my attention! Everything about it is just so beautifully executed and the many details throughout are so fun to spot, everyone so flawlessly expressed the horrors of Whiteout’s childhood. And I usually never stay for the credits either, but of course I had to with this one - drawing the artists’ sonas/mains beside their parts was so cute and neat, and the thumbnails were beautiful as well, I loved them all. Truly a great job; phenomenal MAP :)

Yeah absolutely!
Darkstalker (the dark dragon with the scroll) and Whiteout (the half-face dragon) are siblings that live in a home where their parents don't really like each other (Arctic and Foeslayer). Arctic and Darkstalker both have magical powers, and hate each other. This MAP tells the story of the book Darkstalker Legends through the perspective of Whiteout, as she witnesses her brothers descent into evil. After the loss of his mom Foeslayer (not shown in the MAP), Darkstalker becomes irreversibly evil, and begins using his magic for horrible things (making himself unable to be damaged, concepting spells to kill Icewings, etc), and places the source of his magic in the scroll. Somewhere along the way Whiteout ends up getting kidnapped and enchanted by her father, and brought to the Icewing Kingdom in exchange (I believe) for protection. Darkstalker learns about this and races after them, his girlfriend Clearsight in tow, and brings them back to the Nightwing Kingdom. He enchants his father to disembowel himself, and the Nightwings flee the kingdom in fear of what Darkstalker could possibly do to them.
I'd HIGHLY recommend reading the book, there's a lot not covered in the MAP and it's genuinely one of my favorite books of all time! If you have any other questions I'm more than happy to answer!

Great map. But if you really don’t want to give something for wof editors who are only good at editing and want to make wof edits they you should let them use your maps / animations. The world won’t blow up and wof will probably get some new readers by those edits ❤. If you don’t want to reupload your maps / animations you shouldn’t upload your art on the INTERNET. have a good day Echo.

While yes, I do see the benefits in allowing free use of my art and animations, there are far too many drawbacks for me to allow it. My animators worked their butts off to produce this MAP, and the majority of editors I've seen either don't properly give credit, don't ask the artists if they'd like to be featured (a lot of people don't), or simply put which MAP it was. I do not want others profiting off the hard work of my animators, and I do not want people using my content that I worked hard on in their own videos, again, without asking me. I truly hope you understand, I will not be changing this stance anytime soon.

Every edit I make is later well described which artists I used to give them total respect because I worked just as hard on this edit as these animators. - many people write to me with happiness that it was thanks to my edits they discovered WoF and they are very happy about it. - I understand that you will not change your position for now so I wish you a very good day ❤️❤️

First off, the reason the message was given was (if my suspicion is correct you can correct me if I’m wrong Echo) we had just had a major issue of discovered reuploads on TikTok and RUclips shorts of editors and tiktokers making edits with map parts without credit or simply reuploading the whole map (I wish I was joking)
Yes, we know if our work in on the internet people will want to use it. Does that make it ok? No???
I spent almost 12 hours on my part at 4:17 and have been building my skill in animation since 2020 (that’s 4 years now) and more often then not edits get pushed more in the algorithm due to their short nature and trendy audios.
My map part videos get 300 views on average (which is still pretty good but for hours of work spanned over weeks it’s very discouraging)
I can understand that people want to get involved with the community but can’t draw, but it’s honestly not too much to ask to just PUT OUR NAME ON THE VIDEO??? It makes us animators extremely uncomfortable and puts us in the position where we have to confront the person about the issue and ask to be pinned or at least have our name on the title.
I’ve been used without credit in at least 5 edits now, and every time I’ve asked simply to be pinned, credited, or anything I’ve been ghosted, given excuses, or simply apologized to with no further attempt to actually FIX what I’m asking for.
Don’t take this the wrong way, I love it when I see my art in edits and tributes, but nowadays I have a personal policy where I tell people to ask before using my art (this includes my close friends fyi) because I’m frankly sick of seeing people profit off me and other unnamed animators.
I think you should also know that it’s incredibly difficult for individual animators to get any sort of foothold on the RUclips algorithm. RUclips doesn’t reward hard work, it rewards whatever pulls in views.
Every animator you saw in this video has less then 2K subs by the way, so we need as much exposure as we can get.
We are also making all this off the skin of our own backs. We don’t profit from maps at all besides exposure :( (not a bad this inherently but it’s discouraging)
