I got a hand held mason jar sealer that you don’t have to hook up to your vacuum sealer. It makes life so much easier just to grab and go and not worry about chords and the bigger vacuum sealer.
There are a couple of pioneer cemeteries near me that have tons of wild blackberries and black raspberries, and another one that has two mulberry trees, all of which I gather and use for jam and cobblers. The one with the mulberry trees also has wild asparagus along the edges; unfortunately not enough for the whole spring season, but enough for two or three dinners :).
Sometimes I do. But it always seems to block my hands. And it’s a pain to turn on and off. Then editing takes much longer to remove the reaching to push the on button on it. I used a tripod this week in the kitchen on a video. I should use it more. I always use it for my crochet videos. It makes a 4 hour process a 6 hour one to edit.
YES! I have vacuum sealed grapes many times. Today I went to 2 different grocery stores looking for some fresh grapes to add to this video, but West Virginia isn’t known for having the freshest produce. But, you can definitely do grapes. I’ve done it many times.
When trying to find directions online I came across an article that said in order to vacuum seal things like cabbage and broccoli and cauliflower that they had to be blanched first. I'm wondering if you've tried these and if that in fact is true. I like raw cabbage and broccoli in my salads so would like to use them raw. Thank you for this video is very helpful!!
I heard that you need to blanch lettuce and some produce first before sealing it otherwise it goes bad faster and it's dangerous? also vacuum sealing mushrooms is dangerous!
You don’t need to blanch fresh lettuce to eat it fresh in salads. I do it every week for lunch. That would defeat the fresh salad and make it mushy. We don’t eat any mushrooms in our family so I couldn’t answer about that.
Awesome video. Thank you so much!! ❤
Awww. Thanks for watching!

I have 3 of those too. lol. If I’m doing a lot of sealing, I dig out my big one. But I often use my handheld rechargeable. Thanks for sharing!
And I never knew that could be done very good video😊
There is soooo much you can do with a vacuum sealer. I haven’t even touched on using the bags to freeze in. Thanks for watching!

Brilliant - thanks for the tip 😊
You are welcome! Thanks for watching.
I only gather berries from the forest and turn them into jam and pies pretty fast but this was still very informative for a randomly suggested video.
I had bushes and bushes of berries at the old house. I’m really missing them now. We planted some but it’ll take years to really produce.

Great tips, thank you so much. 😊 I have two blueberries bushes, and I can't wait.
They have cotton circles for make up removal at the dollar tree

Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video. Can’t wait to try it. We end up wasting so much food.
You are welcome! Our aim is to never waste any food. This definitely helps. Thanks for watching!
I learned something today 👍
How come you don't use a tripod to put your camera on where you can use both hands while you're working just wondering

How often do you change out the little paper towel circle?
@@michelleross2998 Whenever it becomes wet with moisture.
Great video. Are you able to vacuum seal grapes successfully?
YES! I have vacuum sealed grapes many times. Today I went to 2 different grocery stores looking for some fresh grapes to add to this video, but West Virginia isn’t known for having the freshest produce. But, you can definitely do grapes. I’ve done it many times.
Will adding cucumbers in your vacuum sealed salad work?
I add cucumbers in the summer when I grow mine. It works well.
Why do you put the rings on the jars?
Incase the seal pops, your food won’t spill, get bugs, etc. It’s just a little more security.

I’ve never heard of that. That seems to defeat the purpose of a fresh salad. I have vacuum sealed those fresh before without blanching.
Thats true if freezing, but this is for fresh storage.
