    Thanks for sharing on May the fourth, Scott! Beautiful playing, I just played this on euphonium with a brass quintet a few hours ago for a Star Wars day event. It's great hearing your version, especially because it's being played so much better!

    Wow! I've never seen a tuba like that, one with the piston valves on the side! I've played one with the piston valves closer to the upper right portion of the tuba, and I've seen one with the rotary valves on the side, but never like that!

      I think it tends to be the professional CC and F tubas that have them like that. Both tubas I’ve owned had valves like that, but the BBb’s I played in school had valves placed like they are on the euphoniums he’s playing.

    How long do you practice each day? When will you come with your next song? And can you please play the Batman or Superman theme song?

      I try to practice at least 2 hours a day. My next video will be out shortly, Scherzo for X-Wings from The Force Awakens. I definitely would love to do the Danny Elfman Batman theme sometime, that's been on a list for a long time!

    Hey Scott, I've seen a few videos of yours and I absolutely dig ALL of them. I play the euphonium, trombone and a little tuba myself and I'm playing my big euphonium with a small (old) conn 2, for hitting all of them high notes, which works out pretty good. But naturely those low ones (low(est) d and lower are just a pain in the but with that ;D) I was wondering what mouthpiece you were playing on the euphonium, it seems familiar but I can't even tell which brand it is... THANKS FOR HELPING ME OUT

      Niklas L I used a Denis Wick SM 3.5 in this video. I now use a Schilke 52D and love it!

    Now I am confused whether I played a baritone in school or a euphonium. Was not aware euphonium was even a thing lol....

      Not sure where you grew up, but in the US, I would say most students play euphonium, but band directors often mistakenly call it baritone because that is the common name used in their scores.

    what does that one rotary valve do on the silver tuba

      It is a 5th valve, the equivalent of a flat whole step, which helps extend the low range and with intonation.

      Right now I use a Yamaha Bobo Symphonic (for my bass tuba), Yamaha Jim Self (for my 4/4 CC), and a Laskey 30H (for my 6/4 CC)

    Is Euphonium easy to play? I'm going into 7th grade I need answers. which is easier trombone, euphonium, or trumpet

      KobeKB 24 Euphonium might be the easiest of those, but the real question is what do you enjoy the most? Which sound do you like the most? You will need to put in a lot of practice in order to develop, so you will need to find your passion and what you will enjoy making music with the most.

      Scott Sutherland Music I have never played any of them. I have only played Violin which I hated. Is Sax easy btw? and I think I like the Euphonium sound better based on the videos I watch

      zachary ellis You’re right, but there are some great instruments out there for much less without a compromise in quality. Check out Eastman. Their newer professional line of tubas and euphoniums are world class and much more reasonably priced.

      That's just what a tuba sounds like. Tubas are so mellow sounding to where its hard to hear them, but easy to feel their sound. The main purpose of a tuba is to be the subwoofer of the ensemble, no matter what type it is.

      Maybe 20K for all three instruments all together, but definitely not just one! My 621F has some customization, along with the 321 (which has a custom large shank receiver), but none are individually worth 20K
