  • First Queen - Ornic Senki (ファーストクイーン オルニック戦記) is an RPG with strategy gameplay mechanics that developed and published by Culture Brain back in 1994, exclusively for the Super Nintendo/ Famicom home console system and the Japanese market. It's a remake of the First Queen that published for the PC-98 in 1988.
The megalomania of the queen of Ornic took over her mind and now she is trying to take over as many lands of Logris as she can. The king of Cardic, a powerful country in the south, decided to stop the madness by sending his soldiers, under the commands of general Richmond, all over Logris in order to find allies wherever possible and to defeat the army of Ornic.
FQ is an old school, real-time strategy RPG where your main goal is to lead your character from the one point of the map to the other with the aim of recruiting as many units as you can, finding chests in order to improve your stats and of course, defeating your enemies. It's probably one of the very first games of that kind for a home console system.
The player controls ~only~ the main character , all of your allies are CPU driven. Unfortunately, the AI (enemies and allies) is not that great. In many occasions, the characters will get stuck in between obstacles ..for a long period of time and that can be quite frustrating.
All and all, First Queen is not a terrible game as it has some interesting gameplay ideas , nice melodies and a fast paced action gameplay but... at the same time , it cannot be described as great mainly because of the problematic gameplay design (AI) and the lack of strategic features.
    * It's not an import friendly game.
