    Nice to see there are more Super Sherpas out there! I've had mine for 16-17 years. Best M/C I've ever owned in 60plus years of riding. I think you and appreciate the fact that you can find a M/C that you can customize to your own likes.
    My only issue is my inseam length. I had SeatConcepts make me a seat that is much more comfortable and also used Kouba Lowering links since I use a 4:50 - 18 tire.
    There used to be a Super Sherpa group on Yahoo but I don't know where that went. Had a great bunch of members and got the carb tuned and jetted properly. As well as lots of little tricks and features of folks riding SSs all over the world.
    Fantastic M/C for us armchair (these days) adventurers. I'm just turning 78 years but still love to ride, at my pace!

    I’ve found a 2001 Super Sherpa 250-G model. Pick it up tomorrow, my first Kawasaki. Thank you for posting the video. As I familiarize myself with the bike I will refresh fluids and seals where warranted and evaluate additions/ renovations. Looking forward to getting acquainted with this specific bike. From what I read and view on RUclips I will not be disappointed.

    I'm looking at the Super Sherpa and the Yamaha XT250 but am having trouble finding comparisons, I know the specs say they are similar but no head to head riding reviews, any idea on how they compare for power and handling? Thanks

    • @PRTEVYBMW
      @PRTEVYBMW  Месяц назад

      Well, I'd start here on RUclips. You will find both models and maybe a comparison. Many more Yamaha XT250 out in the world then the Sherpa's. Kawasaki made a few. There is a Sherpa for sale on Facebook Market place. Look under York Pa, for the search on it. Ride on, Cheers;)

    OK ... button hit! I found you because of the KLR650 shock, but always wondered about the Super Sherpa. Seems like an interesting bike. I also have a Suzuki DRZ250 that I have a ball on besides the 650. Took it on a non planned 300 mile trip a month ago and it did surprising well & great fun. Love the plate cover and corn fields. What part of the country are you in. Thanks for the video.

    Hello i am Hans from Germany, on some spookey ways i have got, also such a nice bike, littel bit burnt from the sun, but it works, i heard about some problems that the carb runs tooooo rich, i also saw it, i opend the exhaust cap .... holly shit, there was more coal, than in my old 250 t stroke yamaha, it seems, i need a set of smaller jets for this bike. Not so easy here to get some information about it in Germany, this bike was never sold here. Did you change the jets in your bike? My english is not really usable, i did not understand, what you have done with the carb of your bike. I love this bike but it runs really to rich and takes to much fuel!!! Greetings Hans

      @PRTEVYBMW  2 года назад

      Hello Hans, Yes I did have my dealer rebuild the carb.They adjusted the needle jet in more to run less rich. If you keep searching here on RUclips, you will find someone who will help you with setting up the carb for best performance! Ride on, Cheers;)

    Wow. nice mods, well done. Did you do anything with the carburetor, like put in larger jets? What shop does your work?

    • @PRTEVYBMW
      @PRTEVYBMW  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Fred, Thanks and yes the Mikuni BST34 carburetor was rebuilt and had a washer shim put under the pilot jet.The OEM set-up runs "VERY" lean for emissions reasons.
      The shop I used in here in York Pa, "Don's Kawasaki". I'm on my 9th fuel tank and getting 69.73 mpg on average! I always put "Startron" fuel additive in with the refill of the tank.
      (About 1 ounce per 2 gallons.) The rebuild kit came from Ebay and made by "All balls" #
      133864.I hope that helps? Cheers;)

    Would you recommend this bike for a new rider? I'm going to look at a 2002 SS. 11k. Looks super clean in pics. I haven't ridden in 30 years. Wanting to hit some forest service roads and run around town. Thanks

    • @PRTEVYBMW

      Hi Tom,Yes I do think she is a good new rider bike. Just keep in mind the set height is 32.7''. I'm 6.0 tall with a inseam of 32'' so it's on the low side for me.I had a ATV pad on the OEM the seat.And that put it close to 34.5" seat height. Let me know how you make out? Good luck and Ride on Brother,Cheers;)

      @@PRTEVYBMW cool. I'm 5 10" with a 30" inseam so I'm thinking it may be a good fit. I've ridden a Yamaha xt250 and it was about right

      @@PRTEVYBMW Thanks for the reply and your past video. I'm taking my Sherpa that I purchased new and didn't use (except for a few test runs) out of storage. As a second bike, I'm debating to keep or sell it. If I keep it, I'd plan to take to the dealer in York to tune the carburetor as you did. I agree, it's a great bike!
