IMO the greatest game ever made. I can play through the story countless times I love the characters so much, and the online mode is awesome too. Got rid of my ps3 3 years ago and have missed it ever since.
C-130s can have a very short takeoff. While stationed on a mountain in Alaska they supported us. The runway was steep and short. They touched down half way up, and powered up to make the hammerhead on top where they'd turn around. After unloading, they'd takeoff downhill using very little runway. Fun to watch.
Use Trevor and a taxi, right as you break the gate, take a taxi mission and once you get into that safe zone, you can cancel it, there is a bug in the game were the few seconds that you were talking on the radio in the taxi, do you wanted level doesn’t apply
It's pretty much just luck. One time I was messing around in the base with invincibility cheat and I thought about stealing one just for the heck of it, and luckily no tanks were around at the time because they all apparently either got lost or stuck chasing me around the base earlier, so I just got in and flew away while looking behind me to prevent the AI fighters from spawning.

The only thing that i do not like about gta v is that they make it difficult for you to enjoy a fighter jet. You have to go to the base and have it shot up before u even get to use it.
I found it you take a missile, and still make it away from the base, you can just quick save and reload and your aircraft will be repaired. Even if you have 4 stars, aa long as you haven't been spotted you can save. I discovered it by accident, I kept crashing after stealing the fighter when it would stall, because I'd take too much damage during the escape...

Another way of avoiding air-to-air missiles: just keep looking behind you, for some reason if you just keep looking back they won't spawn
