First! Whatchu all think? You dig seeing this side of the process? Let us know 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 ALSO - I say it twice in the video but people keep asking 😂 I am using Prime from Loop Community here. This is how I have the stems. It's main purpose is for running click tracks. Probably not super practical for most to use just for this purpose but it's what I am using to showcase guitar parts here.
@@k9kramer well the chances of me learning a song at home and going straight to the stage to play it for an audience/congregation are pretty slim ha so the run-thru/rehearsal are helpful for me. Depends on the song. This one basically took me the length of this video ha but I also had been listening to it for a couple weeks on and off.
I think it's interesting you choose to avoid the top 2 strings when it seems like a lot of parts are written in those octaves. Is that a general rule you like to follow for better tone or easier fingerings? p.s. you should upload the "it might get loud" video
Absolutely. It seems like people only want to see gear reviews, I'd rather see this type of thing. What parts to keep, what to toss out, what to make your own. Thanks Bradford!
Love this! Would also love to see more in depth of how you decide to match their tone and or come up with your own. Really enjoyed this though and would love to see more videos like this!
One thing I have seen done which really helps when showing chords up the neck is to add a camera shot down from the players perspective. Mainly because we can't always tell what your doing.
Phils songs can easily be played by a solo musician on any instrument even a banjo or Ukulele. Phils arrangements are fir his voice and are big productions so he can sell recordings and license his material. Very cool that you can break them down as you are an accomplished musician. Lets hear ine if YOUR TUNES BRO )🙏🙌💞👍
Yes! I doubt most people play with multiple guitars week to week. Certainly not at small churches. Don’t know why there aren’t more of these type videos coming out but I would love them!
Thanks Bradford! Super helpful to see how you learn songs based on what you’re hearing. I would love to see how you develop tone and dial in pedals based on each song (I have an analog setup) I know it’s different than helix & fractal programs but still would be helpful to see your approach.
Love this style of video! Would even love to see how you approach choosing an amp/effects to build a performance for the song. Kinda like an order to what comes first in matching a tone and then the building blocks along the way to a complete song.
This is great! I would advise doing a few listen-throughs of the song (+ taking notes) prior to listening to the stems. Like reading a passage of Scripture a few times (+ taking notes) prior to digging into the commentaries. But I am guessing you were already familiar with the song, so no judgment Brad:)
As always Bradford, you are the man!! What is the playback software or app that you are using? Are you able to isolate the tracking of each guitar used in the recording, I mean it sounds like that is what you are doing to demonstrate each part for us. How is that accomplished so that each guitar part is separated by parts they are playing? Thanks brother!
would you leave some of the rhythm guitar parts in the backing tracks when performing if you're playing mostly lead and you don't have another electric guitar player in the band?
Diamonds basically means whole notes (since a whole note looks like a diamond in sheet music). So just strum a chord (or play a note) and let it ring for the whole measure.
Phil writes some good songs. People sing them in churches (i sing and olay them in mine) Do YOU write songs about your OWN experience with God ? Why, or why not ? Yea Phil is talented and makes a good living playing music about God. Some people dig his stuff. I write and perform as well. As a Christian musician i enjoy playing all kinds of Christian songs. Many of the so called "new" worship music is good but so are the old ones that rarely get attention like "How Creat Thou Art" or even Hank Williams " I Saw the Light" and many others which might even be better than some of Phils even more scriptural on many levels. Perhaps you have an unwitten song in your heart... HELLO....time to get started and share it with the world. And while you are at it ...go out and tell somebody about Christ Jesus and what He came for because that is YOUR/OUR ministry as His ambassadors for Christ.👍🙏🙌💞 Go go go!
And here I’m thinking he uses some advance music theoretical geek speak to break down parts of the song then he drops phrases like Picky Part. Badda Bing baby!

Love it thank you! So how long does it take you to learn the song and feel comfortable playing it live?
Yeah. Of course!

Yes this type of walk thru is so helpful, do more of these type of videos it awesome!
Great new format! Thanks Bradford!!
This was extremely helpful. Please keep doing videos like this one.

Really digging the x wing in the background. Glad I'm not the only one with Legos in my studio 😂

We’ve done all of our playthrus are from this point of view and say as much in the tutorials too :)
Worship Artistry also takes this approach with their content and tutorials (condensing all the EG parts down to a single part).
@@bmitchellmusic good to know, thanks
Really loved this video. Please do more like it! Thank you!

Please do more of these!
Love this style of video! Diggin that x-wing btw
This was great! I would really like more of these!
Bradford, It WILL get Loud!
Might get loud? Upload it! More resources is always useful :D
Love this style of video. I am relatively new to electric and I struggle with what part to play and how to match my tone to the original recording.
These are great! More videos like this 😄
lovee this style of video!!
woh! I like this video concept. Would like to see more like this. It gives me idea on how to arrange guitar for a pwm track. Thanks
Love this!

I just check to see if Worship Artistry has the song yet because I'm lazy. Great stuff! 😁
What does mean when you say “you have some diamonds come into play?” Thanks so much for sharing your gifts
It just means they are playing the chord progression but strumming once and letting it ring out
I’m literally learning this song this week 😂
Post it Brad! I wanna see it!

Thanks! I mentioned in the video - Prime by Loop Community. It’s for live click track usage.
Yes, mad lit.
Do this categorically for worship songs from the past five years till now. Lol
My complaint is that his right bicep is making the falcon look tiny. SMH
Where’d you get all these stems and such from?
Any help with getting tone on pod go?
What is the Prime software you are using? Thanks
would you leave some of the rhythm guitar parts in the backing tracks when performing if you're playing mostly lead and you don't have another electric guitar player in the band?
personally I do not. It's not as necessary to fill spaces as you might think if you have a decent keys player and the worship leader is on acoustic.
He said he would label the part as a “picky part” at least on his what? His pbc? His pvc? I’m assuming it’s his notes? 8:55

@@bmitchellmusic thanks for being available.
Is that a Lego X-Wing up there??
It is
Don't threaten me with a good time!
What do you mean with “diamonds”? First time hearing that term
Diamonds basically means whole notes (since a whole note looks like a diamond in sheet music). So just strum a chord (or play a note) and let it ring for the whole measure.
What are you using to isolate specific tracks?
I mentioned in the beginning I have the session opened in Prime from Loop Community :)
@@bmitchellmusic Oh gotcha! must have missed that. Thanks! Great video by the way! I'd love to see others like it!
