I got hung up on the battery thing for awhile. The old battery still read at least 3.62 on my multimeter. That's a serious PITA, if you can't tell. Thanks for this video, I would've been screwed without it!
Where is the downoad section? All i found was some manuals. And my VF-1 have some problem with tool probe (wireless, classic - 2007) calibration, Z axis (length) work just fine, but after that alarm pops up. And the calibrating macro is called like wired probe, not wireless.
i love these tips and tricks! so this might be a super basic request but is there a rule of thumb or a formula for selecting your chuck pressure for a sl 30 haas lathe? i use both my hard jaws and soft jaws alot on a 10 inch kitagawa chuck.
For clamping force, it’s best to check with the chuck manufacturer. The part diameter, weight of the part, RPM, and even the size/weight of the jaws all play into this. If you have a Kitagawa B210, you can find more info here: kitagawa.com/chucks/open-center-power-chucks/b200-bt200-series/. One thing that most of us forget about is greasing our chucks with the right grease. We are supposed to grease the chuck nearly every day, and some people haven’t greased their chuck ever, and they have dangerously low clamp force because of it; see: kitagawa.com/chucks/chuck-accessories-chucks/chuck-grease-pro/. Also, as your RPM increases, your clamp force decreases (centrifugal force). If you have an LMC chuck, like a PC10, you can find their manual here: www.lmcworkholding.com/images/pdfs/pcOperatingManual.pdf. Because there are so many variables, we don’t typically give out suggested values. Hope this helps! -Mark, the Haas Tips of the Day
You people from HAAS are the best. Do you have an official Swiss Partner? I Would love to become part of the HAAS family. I did my apprenticeship at the University of applied sciences here in Brugg AG, Switzerland and would love to try and apply for a job at your official distributer.
Hi Hardus. Thank you for the compliment, we hope you find all the TOD videos helpful! We do have distributors in Switzerland, you can find contact info for them on our website here: www.haascnc.com/finddealer.asp?Jquery%20Slider&Find%20Distributor%20Link&Contact%20Slider#gsc.tab=0. Hope this helps!
where do the 9000 programs go on a classic control. Do i now have to live with seeing all those in my memory now? The memory on these classic controls is non existant, I would hate to have to run 100% of my programs off usb. Or do the 9000 programs hide like they currently are? Thanks for the help
Hello, @haasautomationinc I have a 2013 Mini Mill (purchased used) with wips and just got my calibration tool. When trying to calibrate the tool setter I get a 1093 probe fail. Im using the Maritool probe calibrator with a length of 4.000" and diameter of .3001. Any insight on why I'm getting this error.
On our Haas VF4 2004 model, I keep getting a 436 alarm (disk file not found) when trying to calibrate the tool work probe. Also my work probe does not beep when i touch it. Is all this a macro corruption issue?
Hello I just follow your video that me baucoup help but I have another problem that I'm tired a bit when I make the head of the machine it reculle I know it's not really what you can get me out of this problem
anyone else notice when teaching probe tool length, and comparing it to a facing tool that just ran (after the facing tool has been taught) that the probe length is off? I seem to have a constant .0007 inch difference between probe length and actual repeated final material removal (after facing).
Absolutely. Here’s a how-to video we have up now: ruclips.net/video/lj8_9YHL5nc/видео.html. We’ll be doing some program-from-scratch probing videos soon, so stay tuned!
@@haasautomation i buy haas vf2 + 2axis tr160... my plan is use this machine on porting motorcycle cylinder head... what software perfect for this work, and can i probing other cylinder head porting and transfer to another head like centroid and rottler macbine do?
You are just fine with the V2.8 probing macros. Only small changes were made in the V3.0. These changes corrected a rounding issue that sometimes caused a 318 Z Over Travel Alarm on great big machines.
So what happens when we randomly lose some of our 9000 series programs? It happens often enough I put a backup of our parameters USB stick in the program directory where we load our part programs from.
Setting 23 9xxx PROGS EDIT LOCK should be set to ON, once you have reloaded those macros. With this on, your probing macros can’t be deleted or edited. A backup is always a great idea.
I have a big problem with a hass renishaw, i broke that palpator and i changed after that ai trayed to calibration the renishaw, but when i put that circle to calibrate, I recive an error "OMP40 Needs Calibratio" exactly when I tray to calibrate him, please help me, I tray for 1 week to rezolv this problem. Thank you, sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand.
Hi m Napster - If you run into problems, when trying to calibrate your probe, it is best to Clear all of your Macro Variables first, and then go through the entire probe calibration process again (Tool Setter first, then Spindle Probe Length, then Spindle Probe Diameter). If you continue to have problems, your local Haas Factory Outlet can help you calibrate. Renishaw is always available with Tech support as well.
Hello Mark, Great video. I have a Haas TM-2P VMC and I don't have the admin. rights to change the Macro variables of our machine. Do I have to call our local Haas distributor in Ontario,Canada or service center to re-calibrate our Renishaw (classic wirerless) probe) or can I do this myself?
Hello Greg, Sorry for the delay and thanks for the props on the video. Here are the button presses to access the Macro Variables on your machine, you shouldn't have any trouble reaching these areas in the control. 1st make sure the Memory Lock key is set to the OFF position and that Setting 120 is also set to OFF. Then go to CURRENT COMMANDS and page up until you reach the MACRO VARIABLES page. Then press the ORIGIN key, cursor down and select CLEAR ALL GLOBAL MACROS, press ENTER, and press Y to confirm. That should do it. Here is the link to the Haas DIY page where we have the WIPS Calibration procedure. diy.haascnc.com/procedures/wireless-intuitive-probe-system-wips-calibration

I would Like to see the setup, install, and calibration of a renshaw probe on your Haas ST20Y.
Renshaw work probe.
I accidentally broke the stylus of my probe. Do I need to calibrate the probe after replacing the stylus/tips?
the download page for the probe is not available anymore. extremely helpful. lol
Can I change the battery on the probe while it’s in the spindle? If I take it out and change batteries will I need to re calibrate my probe?

Haas Automation, Inc. Yes, we always run with that setting ON. We still have 9000 series probing macro programs disappear. It's very disconcerting.

If you have a probe problem, you have a PROBE LEM
Ba-dum-tsss.
maybe the probe wants to play Simon says: red blue green red blue green
I have a alarm! What's mean ? !! open probe !!
Could mean you tried to turn probe on (G65 p9832) While it was already on. Or you tried to turn it on while probe is deflected are two reasons i know.
