A big thank you for them, and i look forward for part 3 Mr.Vybes (DJ for Soca fm) - London-UK
Thank you for the compliment. Please note that I will likely not being doing a mix using current soca tracks anytime soon. However, I would recommend visiting sites like Islandmix for mixes from other d.j.'s featuring such tracks. I may change my mind though, but I plan to focus on older material given the lack of such mix content online. Regards.
Hi, I am a listener to your channel.Could you kindly do a mix for 2013 with vibes can't done,Mr Fete machel montanna, dargon berry riddim, buji garlin and partrice roberts, iwer george bubble and rock it so remixed riddim 2013.Also another old soca classics mix would be great ft golo golo. You mixing skills are fantastic and so clean.Great work man.
Thanks for uploading brought back great memories of carnival 88. Do you know a song by De Mighty Trini called What You Watching Me For? It would be great if I could find it. I'm beginning to think I dreamt the song up. Thanks.
Great upload, I love old school soca. Way more festive. Who's the name of the artist and song at 46:59. Do you have that song by Peter C. Lewis called "Hold on Tight."
Hello Mr Turnrom, I wish you could help me find a song's title that was playing a lot in the discos back in summer 1984 in Barbados, It had the words "anybody" "one country" or "in my country", some people were saying it was a band with the word "vampire" in there name, but I am not sure. They played that song so many times, it was almost an anthem for the island...the club I used to go to was The Unicorn (located in the basement of the big hotel on Dover Beach, Christ Church) Thank you in advance for any clues... (I remember all these little details except for the song, ironic, isn't it ?)
Very nice mix , where can I find the complete song ( fete by Power which is number 24 in the mix) I am looking for it in youtube and I can't find it ... thank you in advance
Please see the following link for a vinyl rip of the 12" record I did a few years back: www.mediafire.com/file/6at1zthrlfb74uz/Come_to_Fete_-_Power.mp3/file
Hi turnrom , where can I find the complete songs of your mixes if possible? some are missing from youtube and they are very nice ones .. the link for the single file format is not giving the complete tracks . Thank you in advance.
Hello again. Thank you for your inquiry. The single file format is a single file of the existing mix. This was created given there are some people who do not use gapless mp3 playback applications. It is not a link to complete versions of each song used in the mix. I would be doing a disservice to myself if I was to do that, which will be explained later in this reply. In order to find complete versions of many older soca tracks you will have to invest in purchasing original vinyl records. Although there are some soca songs posted on RUclips, there's still a lot that has not been posted online and likely never will be. Furthermore, one's record collection is what distinguishes one d.j. from another. I have no issue posting every now and then a complete mp3 of a song that goes for a small amount on discogs.com or eBay. However, I will not post complete mp3s of records I paid a fair amount for (in both time and money). It's illogical for me to visit record stores all over and spend large amounts of money on rare records (plus shipping) and simply post them online in their entirety for others to have for free. On the other hand, I do not mind periodically posting mixes which contain 1-3 minute snippets of such rarer pieces. I can say that posting mixes periodically serves a few purposes, as it introduces some to songs they may have never heard, and it re-introduces others to songs that they may have not heard in a long time. In additional, they work as promotional tools for my d.j. services, in the event someone should be interested. Hopefully, my answer provides you with some of the information necessary to make an informed decision on how you wish to proceed with your search. Regards. Note: The Mighty Power - Come to Fete single is a relatively cheap record on discogs.com, plus it comes with a B-side single, should you be interested in purchasing an original copy.
The song you are likely looking for is by Trini Devo, which is entitled "Rub". Another RUclips user uploaded it already: Rub TRINI DEVO Hopefully this helps.
