    The Western Maryland used to run to Spruce. The diesels you see belong to the West Virginia Central and came to Spruce from Elkins.

    Regulations are two long, one short, one long at railroad crossings. The men at Cass play with their whistles, and they have some of the best whistle quilling I have ever heard!

    I realized that when i watched the vid again. I checked my old vids from cass. The #6 has that low, warm yet loud whistle. If that makes any sense.

    This is a preview of a much longer video that we hope to have out in the near future. The views from the cab was an intregal part of the video thus the reason Mr. Fusco got a cabride in Shay #4.

    Ok. I remember riding to Bald Knob and seeing the Western Maryland line way down below the Cass line. Do they still run trains to Bald Knob?

    Nope. That was the other Shay that powered the passenger train. I think Shay 2 wore that hooter.

    I have never seen steam engines whit this type of drive system to the front drive wheels like a drive shaft.Very cool engines
