    It's just for now I don't have enough money to buy a new Scania truck. I do love Scania trucks... Living it, Loving it, driving it. Scania diehard. Kama Kawa, kama dawa. 770, my dream truck.

    I’m a big fan of Scania and driven loads of them without any problems over tens of thousands of miles,all this electronic Wizardry is great until it goes WRONG and that’s when the problems start and the costs pile up with down time,Labour and parts costs eating away at slender profits. I would NOT buy one of those vehicles until that gearbox had proven itself over the long term to be reliable,I cannot see the benefit of all this complicated engineering when Scania manual gearbox’s are so easy to use and the driver has complete control over the vehicle at all times instead of some computer making decisions. I really hope Scania have got this right because it would be a shame to spoil what is a really great truck.

    So is this system better and more reliable than an b model cat and 15speed with deep reduction ?

      Gearboxes on most EU trucks have been better than Eaton-Fuller transmissions for quite a while now, so I don't think this one is any worse. Not sure about reliability though

    Great gearbox but why have you kept that release bearing design, it’s the downfall for Scania. We run a fleet of tippers and they are failing at 200,000 KM’s

      There are updates on the release bearings also with the GW gearbox, to improve the dirt ingress protection. Which is the main life length limiting factor.

    Mack and Unimog had planetary reverse years ago, Scania is not even close to first one to use it.
