I have felt all of this!!!!!!! Thank you so so much for posting this. I think so many people online are pushing fear into moms and making them feel like homeschool is the only option or their children will be lost forever. WRONG. I think this is so awesome friend. Love and prayers!!

I needed this video so much! Thank you for sharing. I am in the same exact position as you. We are transitioning to public school from homeschooling for all of the same reasons. I still love homeschooling but we needed this transition for the season we are in. It’s wonderful to find families of faith that understand that public school is a useful tool and sometimes is necessary. A lot of RUclipsrs and influencers of faith who have enjoyed homeschooling are so anti public school it can feel like only one option is ok and there is so much shame. So I really appreciate your video and your honesty.

I’m so excited for you and your family! Public school definitely opens up a different list of opportunities :)

I love so many things about homeschool but both my kids are very social introverts and love the sense of community they get at our under funded poor performing urban school district. I’ve been volunteering at the school and it is incredible how many parents are involved in our school. We went for a field trip and have 18 parent volunteers for 25 students. Every day there is at least 2-5 volunteers at any given time there to support the class. It really feels like a family. The school district is so corrupt (not an exaggeration it’s true) and we all know about it and I think that is why so many parents want to be present in the school. There was a massive funding cut to our school and a bunch of positions were going to be cut, including the reading results program which helps with individual reading help (and helped my kid catch up after the pandemic), but parents stepped in and raised a ton of money for it, even though the rule is that I individual schools can only keep 50% of what they fundraise and the rest goes to a general fund, they raised double the amount to keep it. Half our school is kind of wealthy and people would rather have their kids go to the local school than a private school, so some people don’t mind giving $20k twice a year. Anyways, it’s truly a community. The best part is the band and choir program. Our school district has one of the best music programs in the state even though it’s underfunded.

THANK YOU for this video! I'm a second generation homeschooler as well and after 4 years of homeschooling my oldest, we are transitioning to public school this year. I have SO MANY mixed emotions but I know that it's the best decision for all of us right now. My son is so nervous, though. Any advice?? I know it's a big change for him (and me! lol) but I want to help encourage and prepare him as best as I can.

I have been in tears & struggled the past 3 years & I have a 12 year old boy, a 7 year old girl & a 4 year old boy who will do kindergarten... I am so stressed & finally am putting him in public for the 1st time... I have not done vaccines & now I'm just over my fears but not my beliefs of them being junk... how'd everything go for you ???
I have 5 kids, one graduated from homeschool & then I have a toddler... I wanted to public school right before & after lockdown & so it's a good thing kept homeschooling then too...

My husband wants my kids to go back to public school. He says they are driving him crazy. My kids don't want to go through. Plus, I don't know what grade to place them in. My daughter is behind in math mainly, so how would that go? My son has never been in school. He's been homeschooled from the start. He's a little autistic and has outbursts, so I'm not sure of that situation either. I think it would be better to keep homeschooling them, but at the same time, they would have more experiences with public school. So, I'm torn between the two.

    Hi,
I’ve been homeschooling for the past two years. I applied for a part time teaching position and got the job. My son would be going into 2nd grade with me. I’ve been really upset about it and wishing I would not have accepted. I’m afraid he may not want to go back to homeschooling if he goes to public school and I don’t think I felt done with my journey. I am afraid of exposing him to things that I don’t agree with. I’ve considered backing out but I don’t want to be blacklisted from future opportunities within the district. I’ve cried and just felt sick to my stomach. I’m having a rough time. I don’t know if I’m just freaking out or if it’s not right for us. Any advice or prayers you gave for me, I would appreciate!!
