- Did you know a little small talk can be all it takes to interrupt someone’s suicidal thoughts?
We’ve launched #SmallTalkSavesLives, a campaign developed with Network Rail, British Transport Police and the wider rail industry, to give people the confidence to act to help prevent suicide on the railways and beyond.
Pledge to talk to someone if they seem vulnerable, visit www.samaritans....

Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
Every six seconds, somebody contacts Samaritans for help, but you don't have to be suicidal to call us.
Whatever you're going through, call us free any time, from any phone on 116 123.

*I actually cried watching this*
Thank you SO much for this. Beautifully done and so needed.
I don't need a small talk, I need help. All people do is just refer you to someone else and some one else, and someone else. Nhs has ridiculous queues and will just try to get rid of you.
In the end, no help.
Hi, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience. We're always open to offer support, you can call us on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org

Standard response..
Klaudijus Kairys I agree , no one cares . They just say but your so young you have an amazing life a head go for a walk. No one actually gives you what you need 😥
@@elliekc6321 sometimes even though they want to help they find it hard to connect but better to try than ignore. If its possible at these awful times to say what you need then thats a small step. Best of luck with your life and i hope you can see things through to a better time.
this was just amazing to watch, for someone that was at a rainline few days ago having these thoughts while going to travel somewhere it was nice to see a video to help =)
Hope you're feelong ok now.
Amazing video, very very powerful! Please all share!
A-maz-ing-lly profound!
I have posted out to my friends on FB. If each of us do this, we can create a snowball - a snowball of listening xxKaren
That's a great idea Karen. Thank you for sharing . Let's start that snowball!
Wow
❤️
All I got from the samaritans was a bunch of yes people saying 'it must be hard for you', 'yes we hear you', 'It can be frustrating can't it'. And many more... No answers no help. And this is suppose to be peoples last resort, made me feel even worse like there really isn't any hope for us.
If you phone Samaritans do they give you advice and tips for what to do about your situations/problems or is it just to have someone to listen to what you have to say?
Hi Son, if you phone Samaritans our volunteers will give you the time and space to talk about how you’re feeling. Please get in touch. 116 123
They just listen judging from the feedback on this video as well as their own website. The aim is to help you talk through your issues with no one judging you or telling you what to do.
Samaritans volunteers are not counselors. They are trained to listen and provide emotional support.
