    excellent tutorial. I did not have polyvine varnish, so I used my polyvine all-purpose lacquer, and did not have the mat so I used parchment paper. I put my design on a dark candle. turned out beautiful. thank you again. without your tutorial I would never have thought I could decoupage the dark candle with napkins.

    So cool! Can indoor outdoor mod podge be used in place of the varnish at all? I've never used the varnish before. Thanks!

    • @NinnysNapkins
      @NinnysNapkins  Год назад +1

      Not for coasters as it's not heat resistant. I'm not a fan of Mod Podge as a sealerfor most projects as I find it tends to stay tacky for a very long time and I have trouble getting a smooth finish. Polyvine Varnish is a far superior product imo

    Hi Ninny. I'm new to decoupage and have been binge watching videos before starting a project. I'm so happy to have found your channel. I wish I could go to a workshop but too far to drive from New Brunswick! Would you consider doing a cutting board video? Also, a video using the rice paper?

    Happy New Year!

    Thank you so much 💗 for quick response. Sorry to bother you again, but I was thinking is this will make rice paper background transparent like did with napkin? I just haven't got silicone mat yet to try. But following your marvellous tutorial I have bought today polyvine decorators varnish and heavy duty wood varnish. Thank you😂

    • @NinnysNapkins
      @NinnysNapkins  Год назад +1

      sorry I am not quite sure what you are asking? Does the ink in the napkins you are using sometimes bleed? We always advise using good quality napkins printed in Europe as their ink won't bleed. This method may help though but I have no experience with it
