On the poor maintenance of roads we agree with her,bt power outages naah😂..the way we yap on social media when there's a countrywide power outage even kenya power fear us....she could be living in a wrong apartment, nairobi's power is 95% stable
She lived in an apartment that had power issues and she concluded that is the situation for the whole of Kenya. Also borehole are mainly in new apartments to supplement the county water because the demand is too high. Old neighbourhoods have no water issues. Deposit is one month for most rentals, her landlord must be greedy. You can find an a one bedroom for 7K or 8K in mamy neighbourhoods in Nairobi in the working class areas. I am surprised she has been here for a year and misrepresents Nairobi so much. She needs to get out more and interact with the locals to undertand Nairobi and Kenya better.
Wueh! I'm even shocked, power outages and the way we rant in this social media streets and strip Naked mr MustGo and his government... I'm dissapointed really with her experience 😕 because power outages is very rare in 254
I bumped into Yr video while looking for something on Kenya. I listened to the interview on differences between Namibia and Kenya. I agree that they are more differences than similarities. However, the following are different : - Kenya has more beautiful architecture than Namibia and more skyscrapers -I disagree with MissLukas that the Town planning In Namibia and Kenya is similar. It's totally different. Am not a town planner by training but I can relate that Namibia's town planning is same as that of South africa ito layout of towns and streets. There is a huge difference. If u happen to travel to Namibia one day or just watch the videos on RUclips say of Windhoek city, u will descern the difference in Town planning. The other difference is that in Kenya, apartments are a norm over free standing houses while In Namibia, South africa, Botswana people prefer buying houses than apartments such that even property developers prefer to build free standing houses than apartments. I think it has to do with size of land. These countries are large and and can expand while Kenya is smaller than Namibia with huge population 12 times than Namibia. Thus Nairobi area size (not built size) is almost same as Windhoek city area (built and inbuilt land). Windhoek city size is 645 square kilometres while Nairobi with maybe 6 million people is 690 square kilometres. Thus the decision of Nairobi Council to build Apartments to accommodate more people otherwise I understand the city cud have run out of land if majority of those 6 million people were to go for free standing houses. - The are high end apartments in Windhoek but u will only find them in Porsche areas. The trend here is that they can't build a high end apartment in middle income area except at coast. Moreso a high end apartment will be expensive to rent in Windhoek and coast. - I also heard her saying there are no USD millionaires in Namibia? I thought she is knowledgeable enough on that coz Namibia and Kenya dnt use usd as legal tender. So are all african countries except Angola before 2016. Thus there is no usd billionaire in both Kenya and Namibia but there are millionaires and multimilliinaires in usd in both countries. Maybe she dnt read THE AFRICA MILLIONAIRES RANKING REPORTS released every year. Namibia has small population but has over 2300 usd millionaires and multimilliinaires and ranked in top 10 in africa. Google it so u correct her. Namibia, Mauritius are projected to more than triple milllionaire list by 2035 if u check HENLEY & PASSPORT africa millionaire rankings and outlook. Thus Windhoek alone has over 1700 usd millionaires and multimilliinaires. Pls google to see how HENLEY & PASSPORT OR AFRIEXIM BANK calculates who is a millionaire in USD. It's not about fixed property. If that was the case then we cud have more usd millionaires in value. They convert Yr investments and liquid assets from Yr local currency into USD at the prevailing exchange rate excluding Yr fixed property. That's how they calculate Millionaires in usd but it doesn't mean the millionaires have USD. - MissLukas also touched on water and electricity issues between the two countries. I agree that no water or electricity issues in Namibia generally even though it is a dry or semi arid country over half of its geographic size not whole country. I understand that Nairobi too dnt have power challenges like she mentioned although it may happen but not regularly according to Kenyan views. Water & electricity issues involves proper planning by authorities by putting sufficient capacity ito infrastructure to cater for urban growth. Authorities shud be able to plan ahead in light of population growth then u won't have perrenial water shortages in many urban centers In africa. It's poor planning on part of authorities accross africa. It's not about population size. Why does DRC with too much water suffer from portable water scarcity in Kinshasa while their INGA DAM can supply water to the whole africa? Moreso, development is measured ito infrastructure and Human development index according to UNDP(United nations development programme). Tall buildings have nothing to do with development in Economics. If that was the case then most of Europe with no skyscrapers would not qualify to be developed ito. They measure development on all fronts (infrastructure, human quality of life, easy access to affordable healthcare by general population, quality of education, life expectancy, availability of basic services such as nutrition, gdp per Capita, level of wages and salaries converted to usd, water and electricity etc. These are the yardsticks United nations use to measure development. That's why
2:55 Kenya is definitely a hub for environmental stuff. The _world_ headquarters for the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is in Nairobi. Also the first black woman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize was a Kenyan (Wangari Maathai) who tied environmental activism (through her organization, The Green Belt Movement) to political activism. Wish we could do more for the environment though, to truly become a proper global environmental powerhouse.
Unfortunately, Frieda has fallen into an expats' mindset of looking down on all things local. Its disappointing. Expected better of her. Shoyld move out of the UNEP cocoon and experience Africa.😢
Not everyone wants to live like a local c'mon many Kenyans live the way they live not because they like to but because majority can't afford to live fancier
Thanks, Sarah, for coming back. About Kenyan men, I am surprised that she can believe in such generalisation. I am certain there are great kenyan men who would love to date southern African, inc Namibian, women. She is well educated and open-minded, and while Namibia is relatively westernised, they still maintain strong family and cultural values. Some Kenyan men would love that.
high prices of cars and fashion is due to high taxation, our taxation structure is crazy. the reason we said enough is enough in june when they wanted to tax us more
Nairobi doesn't have power issues unless its your token that wasn't paid for that means the electricity bill 😂😂Tell her to confirm with the Airbnb they might be doing that intentionally
First we welcome the Nambian girl in Kenya. She is entitled to her own opinion but we should agree Namibia has been really assisted by South Africa and Boers for its growth. Though I love Namibia since I lived there for 10 years.
Sarahbe,we appreciate your role in marketing Kenya and the fact that your argument that Kenya is competing with giants like s Africa,Nigeria, Egypt,,makes us want to work harder. The only thing pulling us backwards is leadership marred with corruption due to the current worst governance.Only one president made us achieve where we are today-The late president Mwai Kibaki.

Those telling you negativity about Kenyan men I assume they're Kenyan women but surprisingly they are married to Kenyan men,so I just wonder how you believe them,if Kenyan men are that bad,why do they marry or get babies with them?it's ironical😊
Mnakuaga na negativity kila mahali and that's why you will never appreciate the small wins and you will continue living miserable lives because you have programmed your minds to be negative and complain about everything.
Frieda is honest about her experiences, which is very important for travellers. Beyond Namibia, South Africa and Botswana, its a whole new world, the real Africa. The problem with Kenyans, most of their vloggers have fallen into this trap of whitewashing flaws and problems. Someone (e.g. Miss Trudy) goes to Botswana and tells us it's so developed while she is surrounded by vast expanses of bushes and emptiness. The last thing I want is poor infrastructure, power and water shortages, and I want my supplies from reputable shops such as Clicks, Dischem, Game, Pick n Pay. Its true that quality is well regulated in Southern Africa. Kenya has a reputation of poorly built buildings collapsing due to shortcuts by Indians and local contractors who dont follow regulations.
Ended up giving excuses for her own countries short comings while thinking she already knows everything about Kenya even though her guest has been in Kenya longer and clearly knows different
On the poor maintenance of roads we agree with her,bt power outages naah😂..the way we yap on social media when there's a countrywide power outage even kenya power fear us....she could be living in a wrong apartment, nairobi's power is 95% stable
