I am so grateful for your steadfast support, dear Jayne! It's fun and scary to paint lots of colors and then... cover them in black... but thankfully watercolor is transparent, to some extent.

I love your black cat! He/she looks so regal yet so sweet. The eyes are really expressive and the colors you used to paint the black are gorgeous! Very nice. :)
Cindy, I am very happy to read your comment and that you like the colors; I enjoy using a lot of colors to make black.
It always amazes me how many colors you start with. In the end your cat just glows. I think I would use a dip pen to do the whiskers.
Thanks, Rae Lynn; the dip pen is an excellent idea, though I have had little practice with it and the few times I have tried it--a long time ago, admittedly--I just managed to make a mess of it. I should try again, though: white ink and a dip pen would be ideal.

I am stunned by your knowledge of color theory and brush control Cristina .... I love this meeting you recently but seeing you work with Holbein and different pigments and I just love this you! I have already drawn my cat and my sketchbook and I’m going to do this as I watcher next video I’m getting such a kick out of it I love it I just love your knowledge and your brush control is out of this world I can’t even I don’t know maybe I can I have no clue but it’s amazing! I’m glad I know you know but I wish I’d known of you then. Xx
