- Pinckney Recreation Area and Bruin Lake Campground. Located in Gregory, MI in Livingston County. There are 161 campsites. The upper level sites are wooded with grass parking and the lower level sites near Bruin Lake have concrete pads. Swimming beach and boat ramp are located on the campground.
Bruin Lake connects to a chain of other lakes and provide wonderful waterspouts activities. Motorized watercraft are allowed but there is plenty area for safe non motorized water sports activities.
Major shopping is a little ways away in Brighton (20 minute drive) but there are two local convenience stores within three miles that offer the immediate essentials (ice, beer, soda, etc..). Like most Michigan State parks there I son camp store but the office does sell firewood and ice.
Hell, MI is a small town about seven miles away from the campground. There are two restaurants that serve basic American fare. We stopped at Hell Saloon and both had the fried walleye which was delicious with their house made tartar sauce. There is a small souvenir shop with ice cream stand inside. There is also live entertainment on weekends in the summer.
We recommend visiting Bruin Lake Campground. Easy to get to, plenty out watersport activities, clean facilities, and family friendly environment.
