  • Ken Ham and his team have a bi-weekly "news" show, reacting to the news stories of the day from a Christian young-earth creation perspective from the Answers in Genesis staff at his Creation Museum.
Internet anti-theist legend and evolution champion, AronRa, volunteered his time and sanity to bring us insights into the misguided ramblings of the Answers in Genesis crew.
We joined Dr. Georgia Purdom, Ken Ham, and Bodie Hodge as they answer questions about a fossil bird in amber, weird ice age creature, Bernie Sanders against a Christian politician and unicorns in the bible in the June 19 and July 6 episodes of Answers News.

Honestly, the concept of "kinds" as Creationists talk about it makes me think of that one Suite Life of Zack and Cody gag:
"How do you define the word 'kind'?"
"Easy! Things that look like dogs go over here and things that look like cats go over there!"
"Yes, but how do you come to the conclusion of _why_ they go in those places?"
"...Didn't you hear me? Things that look like dogs go over here and things that look like cats go over there."
"I get that, but by what criteria are you putting them in those slots? Is it based on phylogeny? Anatomy? Common ancestry?"
"...Like I said: Things that look like dogs go over here and things that look like cats go over there >:("

When Ken Ham was deciding whether to have live animals on the ark, he did the math. It would take way more than eight people to look after them. He knew for certain at that point the story was a lie, but he persisted in trying to sell it to the public.

Indeed but what do you expect from a used car salesman for God. His whole so called Ark is utterly Rubbish. How Ken can keep a straight face while he takes people's money. Never mind the fact he is taking. From Christains is just sad. Ken should be in Jail for obtaining money by deception.

@@sagerider2 wild horses that get colic or become lame so they can't run and keep up with the horses often don't survive. But there are enough horses in the herd so that if 10% die from an illness or being attacked by predators, the rest of the herd can survive. Horse owners generally don't have a whole herd where they don't need to care about each individual horse. And even if they did have a large number of horses, they've formed an emotional attachment to each so they don't want to lose even one. Also, wild horses don't live in one small specific area their whole lives, they move around, so when the grass gets too low where they are, they can move away and leave everything to grow back. It's something owners can recreate in fields by sectioning parts off to let the grass grow back. However all of this wouldn't be able to apply to the Ark if there was only 2 horses and an already tight fit. Noah would have to make sure they don't get sick and die because there was only 2 and would have limited resources for food.

Disappointed Optimist, Its been a business strategy since the 1920s and very effectively utilsed for over 50 years by the tobacco, alcoholic drinks and fossil fuels industries. You don't need to scientifically prove your side of the argument when people already want to continue with the behaviour, and its making big money for the government in taxes. You just need to sow enough doubt to make the evidence not conclusive and call it contentious. Just one published study, with few controls, a terrible design and cherrypicked anslysis can be enough to undermine ten thousand brilliant studies.
Moreover, you've got people in power in government like Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher who's by no means alone, and who's limit of critical thinking gives questions like, "Is it possible that there was a civilization on Mars thousands of years ago?" (House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, July 2017). Just how easy is it for big industries to totally loby and control them?

Disa, yeah, few know much about evo-illusion or science, because when you find one that knows one, he knows the other just as well, since evolution is not actually a part of science, regardless of all the stacked evo conjectures over the years, and total lack of REAL proof.

beac - right, they'd be talking evo puppets that argue against religion in the hope that it will bolster their own evolutionary religion, called Pinocchio-ism, because there is NO science involved in it. Just make claims and presto, you've got Pinocchio to tell you all about how species came into existence.
They'd be inventing their own science as they speak, just like evos do, NO science, just stacked conjectures, unable to prove even ONE SET of their claims concerning evolutionary transitions from one species to another, according to scientific method. Not even ONE.
Yet, this is the heart of Darwinism, the 19th century failed pseudoscience, still talking about finch beaks, when the entire evo farce was displaced by the discovery of the DNA molecule.
Hey, even Richard Dawkins states that EACH cell contains more information inside of it, than a 30 volume Encyclopedia Britannica - three or four times over! Now that's a lot of evolution by happenstance, eh? Talk about dishonesty, evos are the veritable talking serpent.

I live in Bible belt USA, not crazy far from this homage to ignorance. Yeah, it sux and, I agree, it is delusion. Idk why we hold onto religious fantasy so strongly here. I think the ease of absolution in Christianity goes hand-in-hand w/ the ruthlessness of capitalism. Though, I think atheists just surpassed socialists and maybe even Satanists on the votability list. Woot woot! The F student just got a D! I hate that our country is becoming a Jerry Springer episode for the world bcuz of dumbsh*t like this.

The Behemoth Story shows that creationist are not interpreting the Bible literally. Instead they are basing it off of a vacuous interpretation.
When you read the Bible one thing becomes clear, the Behemoth is described as having visible testicles when the Bible says, “the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.” the word stones means testicles. Douay-Rheims Bible actually does a great job at translating it, “He setteth up his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his
    testicles are wrapped together.”
The best translation however, does not come from your normal Bibles, but from Stephen Mitchell 1992’s The Book of Job, where it seems he realize with all the talk of that general area of this creature, it is talking about a very horny animal. Thus he translated to say, *“His penis stiffens like a pine; his testicles bulge with vigor.”*
So, I must ask, since when did the sauropods grow a pair? Because their reproductive organs are internal and mate through a process called a cloacal kiss. It's the same way birds and alligators mate. Their “stone” remain as internal organs. So was God showing Jobe a defective dinosaur? Because it sure does seem as if God was presenting a particular type of animal that has stones on the outside. What type of animal has their stones on the outside, visible for all to see? Mammals? Like humans, how about rhinoceroses, hippos, elephants and water buffaloes?
Over and over again when it comes to creationist in their interpretation of the Bible, it is awful. They're literally making the Bible out to say things it is not. Interpreting it in such a way that it backs up their own preconceived YEC beliefs.

The Russian word for hippopatumis is begemot. Russian language is based on Greek. Which is the original language the bible was written. Behemoth means hippo. These creationists would know this if they did a quick Google search. Willfull ignorance or outright lies. Either way it's dishonest.

    • @SciFiFan2012
      @SciFiFan2012 6 лет назад +7

Alex Scott so a 6 day creation story is true, yet science tells us that the universe is billions years old, modern humans are 60-70 thousand years old (and proven that we did evolve from a common ancestor) multiple fields of science all confirm and overlap, showing the Earth is much older than 6000 years old. But 6 days to create *everything* is not crazy?
Fully grown people grown from dirt and one rib is a fact?? Snakes, donkeys and bushes can speak?
Your God "allows" Satan to interact with people, yet he can't or won't?
God is a crappy landlord and a deadbeat father who hasn't hung out with his children in over 2000 yrs.
Science has proven the creation story a myth, the flood was a jumble of older stories much older, scholars in the middle East have long said the Exodus had no evidence to support it.
Three major events in the Bible didn't happen, so the chances are that the rest of it being just bits and pieces from older stories to comfort/control and scare the audience it was intended for is pretty high, as well as it saying there is infinite punishment for finite sins.
NO patent would punish their child their entire life because they stole candy from a store at 8 years old.
Besides how can a "holy" book be holy if MEN were allowed to customize it by committee, deciding what was holy or not?
Makes more sense that a divine being would not allow their word to be changed, or just appear to everyone at the same time so everyone knows exactly what to believe with no need to have thousands of people believing in differing versions of that invisible wizard.

In How Mythology Disproves the Flood, AronRa hypothesizes that the Tower of Babel is a mythologized take on the fall of the original Babylonian empire during the Bronze Age collapse. There's no surprise that Babel sounds like Babylon and under the Babylonian Empire the Near East was unified under a common trade language and written language, cuneiform. When the empire collapses the intellectual capital needed to teach cuneiform goes with it and very quickly the people loose their ability to understand each other as regional languages diversify due to isolation. We also know that Babylon contained an enormous ziggurat which would have been the largest structure in the Near East at the time.

I'm pretty sure, the Tower of Babel was written before all the others. Because, after god made them have all different languages, again. The irony of it is that heavy rains in 2017 and 2018 caused flood damage to the "ArkEncounter", to which their insurance company has refused to cover. So now they are suing the insurance company. The lie is being exposed.

    • @latarribell7827

Can you blame the insurance company? After all, this"boat" is supposed to survive 40 straight days of continuous rain and a year at open sea. Ham should have hired Noah and Sons, instead of a construction company with 1000 trained workers and modern day equipment and technology, if he wanted the thing built right.

I will never understand how Ken Ham's Noah's Ark experience doesn't disprove Noah's Ark. He didn't do it the way Moses would have done it he used modern technology, modern finances, modern labor, and modern techniques. Now had he actually built what Noah would have built I might actually be impressed. But I'm not at all surprised you can build an ark today. Especially not with the government's help.

In addition to all the other impossibilities in the ark myth...why does no one address how Noah and his family captured all those animals? Do they think the animals just willingly walked up the ramp? They couldn't have even caught them within 40 days, much less get them on board and go thru the trip etc. Aron...please raise this point sometime in your presentations.
