- Hey Folks!
Join me for an exciting FPV adventure as I launch the DJI Avata 2 from the top of the beautiful East Rock Park in New Haven, CT!
In this video, you’ll get a front-row seat to the breathtaking views and cinematic experience, as I share my real-time thoughts and experiences behind the goggles. You'll get an insider look at the incredible flight capabilities of the Avata 2!
Halfway through the flight, I spotted a nearby baseball field and couldn't resist practicing some power loops. Getting a bit too comfortable, I had my first crash… But no worries, the drone was unharmed, and I was back in the air in no time. Lesson learned!
Thank you all so much for joining me on my FPV adventures. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe, leave a like, comment, and share it with a friend!

Yessir. Will do. Thank you 🙌🏼
These videos are such a vibe. Need them daily!
Aye much appreciated. Trying to get like you bro 👊🏼
Let’s goooooo!
Good stuff…i might have to check out that park .. is that East Rock
Thanks bro! Yessir, East Rock Park in New Haven CT
Nice video! I would like to know how do you know the throttle curve of the Avata 2 as it cannot be adjusted.
Much appreciated 👊🏼 I don’t know the throttle curve. Seems pretty linear to me. Yeah unfortunately DJI does not let you adjust the throttle curve as of now, it just takes some getting used to.
🎯⚡️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are you a freestyle drone pilot? It looks like the Avata 2 drone movement in this video is a little less subtle
Hey! I think I would fall under cinematic drone pilot. Trying to break the boundaries between cinematic and freestyle though! I appreciate your comment 👊🏼
Nice, but IMHO there is a lot of frame rate stuttering in this video. "Statistics for nerds" says this video is 24 fps. Most probably your drone recorded the footage in 30 or 60 fps. If you put 30 fps or 60 fps video on 24 fps timeline or slowed it down by fraction of percent without using Optical Flow (DaVinci resolve) technique or similar it will always cause stuttering. Without Optical Flow it picks frame by the nearest neighbor (instead of generating subframes) and this always produce this kind of effect that some frames are displayed double and some not. In result the motion of object sinusoidaly accelerate and slow down.
IMHO the best bet is to always render in 30 fps as almost all the people in the world use monitors with 60 Hz refresh rate. When you record in 60 fps it will simply skip odd (or even) frames and you don't even need to use Optical Flow frame generation (or similar in other than DaVinci resolve software).
Thank you so much for your humble opinion! I definitely recorded this in 30 fps, exported on a 24 fps timeline, and used optical flow (premiere pro). In the future I’ll stick with recording at 24 fps for the most cinematic look. I did not know about the common 60 Hz monitor rate, I will keep that in mind as well 👊🏼
I had my first crash with the Avata 2 on Friday doing almost exactly the same mistake with a slow back flip and like you, no harm done. Nice flying again mate!
Cheers, A J
No way! Haha that’s awesome. This flight was from Friday too. It makes me feel a lot better knowing you made the same small mistake! Thank you so much for sharing mate. Have a great rest of your day A J 👊🏼
@@mailmanmedia No probs man! I post my vids on the DJI forum via their website (under A J) - the crash is on there for all to see lol
@@silverfox74 Checked it out. Great vid as well bro. What ND filter do you use?
@@mailmanmedia Thanks mate. I use the official DJI ND8, 16 and 32. Being in the UK the 32 is rarely used lol. Latest vids were using the ND8. Manual video settings: 4K/60, SS 120 (double the frame rate for the 180 degree rule to get the best motion blur), white balance fixed at 5,500K so the video doesn't change contrast during filming and thats the best WB setting for afternoon sunshine, ultra wide FOV and with the ND filter on exposure value is -5 to 0. I also have my sharpness set to -1 to take the edge of the digital look.
@@silverfox74 my man. You are a legend for this! I am going to play around with my camera settings next flight. Having the white balance set is a move. Thank you again!
Greatt spot looks awesome
Thanks man! It was a nice hike to get up there.
that looks cool ;) cool flight!
Thanks so much! :D
