Thank you and Happy New Year to you and yours too 🤙 I’m very lucky that I enjoy my job so much but it’s a job that’s harder to keep than it is to get 🤙
Nice little video ,how do Foxes compare to working for Clive Hurt I know a couple of lads who have worked there, I work down the road at Walton Summit. Crackin bit of kit that trailer. Have to be a bit careful putting them moxies on there , you can’t afford to get it wrong can you. obviously your very experienced. Not many manual trucks about these days probably better for heavy haulage though, I like my auto. Great job.
It just feels like you’re part of a larger group that’s very busy and still growing, I’m still working with the Operators, Fitters and Management I’ve always worked with and I’m very happy here 🤙 The trailer is great, it makes loading a EC380 feel like you’re putting on a 210 but TBF I haven’t had a bad trailer at Hurts yet, defects are repaired promptly and you’re not expected to do things that can’t be done As you say, I’ve been around a good while now and I wouldn’t think of moving on Thank you for your interest 🤙
I'm quite envious of that manual box is it a 3 over 3 or the 4 over 4? I've been stuck at 53mph in a late 2015 G450 Auto with a tag & single drive axle that struggles uphills losing all it's speed & it won't change down until it's too late the trailer being a Kassbohrer is not much better with failed design issues on the ramps
It’s the three over three range change with a splitter, the synchro is worn on second & fifth so it needs double de-clutching We have an XT 450 which is a bit weedy (bought for a different job) and that changes gears when it feels like it 🤦🏻♂️ but the Volvo is better but it is a 540 Given the condition of most sites thanks to the weather these days I much prefer UKC 🤙
@Stillgotallmyfingers I did 3 weeks out of Squires Gate Lane It depressed me so much the camera watching me, the not much better than national minimum wage only just giving me £400 a week after tax not forgetting the Friday tea & biscuits to discuss infringements I think I was in PO70EFE it wouldn't do over 54mph & apparently I had been seen on the tracker doing 59mph yet what is the speed limit on a motorway I had my sat nav set to ping letting me know if I was over 56mph it never did? Yet PO70EFH would do 57mph on the flat so how is that fair on that note it was enough for me so me & the Fox had to depart I would only back there on a Grab or Plant I wouldn't do basic tipper work again being just a sheep
I wish I'd had a double drive axle I collected a 16 ton tracked dumper from Wurzels going through Flookburgh with the single drive axle even with diff locks engaged lost traction
As it happens, Andy parked his 6 wheeler in my way and I had to manoeuvre around him, the longer the run up the straighter they go 🤙 Took your advice about TikTok, cheers mate 🤙
Yeah someone commented all ready, a manual box you don’t see many of those these days is your truck due to be upgraded soon ill be interested to see if you get a choice manual or automatic
TBF, if I really had a choice, I’d ask to keep UKC, I’ve borrowed the other’s newer auto lorries (Volvo & Scania) and I think I’d prefer double de-clutching this one 🤙
@@Stillgotallmyfingers yeah definitely manoeuvring over wet slippery ground in automatic is a nightmare sometimes even dawn hill barking is tricky in an auto 😂😂
nice to see someone driving a manual truck and knows how to use it 👍 surprised your driving a 9 year old unit considering the size of Fox group and how modern the fleet is. that cause you like the truck so your aloud to keep it or the group run trucks for 10 years?
@@Stillgotallmyfingersglad to hear you got a solid truck, mate of mine got a new gen V8 and it's been a proper bag of nails, wished he kept his 164. looking forward to more content.

Never got one straight 1st time yet😂 always stop start and check as it irritates me if I'm an inch or three to one side😊

We do have a modern fleet, UKC causes so little trouble I think they’ve forgotten we’ve got it 😉
