    The owner is legitimately a top end builder. The creativity is as good as anything that I've ever seen. The lines and flow are perfect.

    El Catalino!!! That thing is cool!!! The coolest thing about it is how subtle almost all of the custom touches are. To the uninformed, that car looks 100% original, and that can be hard to achieve even without custom touches, on a project like that.

    First thing I noticed was the '8 lug' wheels. Amazing to think they are home made.
    That car is absolutely stunning. I wish we could have stuff that looks this good nowadays.

    Beautifully done.
    When I was a lad in the San Fernando Valley there was a '58 Edsel Ranchero that parked where I's pass it on my way to school. Someone had grafted a '58 Edsel 'doghouse' to a '58 Ford Ranchero which worked quite well.

    Wow! Looks like a factory build. If you didn't know any better, you would think this car is all original.
    Kiwi, you need to get a wearable mic and talk about cars like this at shows. I love this in depth review of this awesome car

      The engine accessory drive is the least subtle custom touch which I noticed, and it still didn't jump right out at me too badly.
      This car is a very successful exercise in subtlety.

    I remember a story I read years ago about 2 Pontiac Catalina utes built by Pontiac in 59 as concepts 1 is supposed to be in a museum somewhere and the other is privately owned by a man in Colorado.

    Impressive work to say the least! A buddy of my Dad's in the mid 60's turned a 55 Cadillac into an El Camino type build. Grafted the back of a mid 50's Chevy pick up 5 window cab into the roof, and fabb'ed the bed interior from scratch. Came out quite nice, but certainly not even close to the quality of this build. That same guy also built from scratch a miniature open wheel roadster with a Crosley running gear, and totally hand formed body. He and his wife were both very small, and they drove the roadster in the local 4th of July parade every year....a normal size guy would pretty much fill the cockpit completely. RIP Sam Hawks....you are remembered by me anyway...probably no one else all these years later.

    Those are Bonneville car tail lights. Even the Bonneville wagons only had the small tail light.
