Yes you're right, the Ponds have been around longer than the other companions you've seen; Rose had 2 series and 1 Christmas Special (27 episodes; 21 stories). Martha had 1 series (13 episodes; 9 stories). Donna had 1 series and a Christmas special (14 episodes; 11 stories). And as far as you've watched, the Ponds have had 2 series, 2 Christmas Specials, and are already 2 episodes into their third series (which is also 11's third series) (so, so far: 30 episodes; 25 stories).
The Robots are voiced by beloved British comedy duo Mitchell and Webb. They're possibly the greatest comedy duo in England at the moment in my opinion, they have their own series called Peep Show which is fantastic and I can't recommend enough
Alex James These were rare moments but they were there for 11 like Amys choice and just before Demons run to Rory. Capt runaway was another that I sadly missed Sesska's reaction on and it's a scary side to 11 that I wish was explored more in hindsight.
fleason771 I think Eleven's darker side was explored quite well actually. I mean, his willingness to sacrifice the Star Whale, the whole 'Dream Lord' stuff in "Amy's Choice", everything in "A Good Man Goes to War" (Kovarian's motivation, Lorna), leaving older Amy to die (+ the cruel way he 'gives' Rory the choice)... plus a lot of moments still to come. Generally, in my opinion, Moffat did a great job with the Doctor's (sorta-dual) nature
As it happens, the beach where the location shots were filmed, Southerndown, is popular with fossil hunters. Not that you'll find many dinosaurs there, mind you, but plenty of trilobites, ammonites and the like. Southerndown was also "Bad Wolf Bay" in the Tennant era.
I always love ur reactions, but the joy u had in this one really made me smile, which I needed this morning, so thank u for that and hope ur keeping well :-)
fun fact those robots were re used props from a kids game show called Mission 2110, it was a copl show that was sadly cancelled (shame since the show actually had a story and it was cool)
I thought you'd like this one Sesska. You'll likely be happy to hear the man who wrote this episode has been named the new showrunner as well after Moffat's departure.
The guy who plays the Solomon also plays the First Doctor. Not during the 1900s, but he shows up a few times during modern Who and he's played by this guy. Just thought it was interesting.
The sassy robots from this episode were played by Mitchell & Webb who have done sketch shows in England. They are really funny. Check out their vids on youtube. I love Brian and does him being Rory's dad make Rory a Weasley?
David Walliams was already on the show - played the ratty alien Gibbis in The God Complex (the one with the minotaur in the hotel). Brian is of course Mark Williams another british comic actor, best known internationally probably as Arthur Weasley in HP of course, but in the UK he was famous long before that as part of one of the most popular sketch shows of the 90s "The Fast Show". Arabella Weir who played one of the mech operators/military from the "Doctor, Widow & the Wardrobe" Xmas special is also a Fast Show alum.
Yeah, I know all this. But Who has a habit of recasting the same actor in different roles, so it could have been perfectly plausible to find out Walliams provided the voice for a robot as well.
With you on the episode being just a fun ride, it was a joy to watch. That and the fact I'm a huge dinosaur nerd so I was sold on it from the start. I probably would've questioned the ethics of the Doctor legit leaving Solomon to die, if it weren't for Tricey's death. That really...just broke me :(
I'd completely forgotten that David Mitchell and Robert Webb played the sassy robots. I should dig this episode out and give it an airing: it really does seem more breezy and fun than i remembered. Also, Brian's balls are the bestest balls.
This was so much fun! :D I mean, I agree, that's truly what this episode is - a bit of fun. It gets some shit for that, which is sad, but I really enjoy it. It does have a briefly dark moment as well, with the Doctor letting Solomon die. But overall, it's a fun romp with sassy robots and DINOSAURS (is there a better combo?) and so many recognizable actors. Lestrade, Mr Weasley and Walder Frey/Mr Filch all in one! And I loved how much you loved it. I don't think I've laughed this much at this episode in ages, because now I was laughing along with you.
There's so much that people could reveal about future episodes based on this alone so please, everyone, keep it to yourselves. I'm really glad you seemed to enjoy this episode. :) I like it a lot too. It's a lot of fun.
Please everyone try to stick to the episode and not discuss future spoilers. If you have been here as long as a lot of us with Sesska on her Who journey you will know that she rarely follows the norm. I find it enlightening & even sub par episodes like this are more enjoyable on a rewatch. Some great moments in this episode Inc Brian, the gang, Amy and Rory weaning themselves off the Doc & the Doc forcing them too. Finally the Doc allowing the Villan to die, it clearly was a shock to Jess. A lovely fun episode on a rewatch if you care to.
fleason771 I remember when I first saw this episode I was shocked, not because he killed the villain, but because it was straight up cold blooded murder
KKEntertainment Well he didn't cause it but what's telling and in all previous incarnations he has given them a choice, here he does nothing. Someone said it's an ongoing character trait of the effects of travelling alone which wasn't in my mind straight away. More that this was revenge pure and simple and Tricey was the catalyst.
"In all previous incarnations he has given them a choice". I mean... no. This isn't a first in any way. You've not watched Classic Who, have you? He kinda does this shit a lot.
Chiggins _ Really cool! :-) In all honesty,no not seen all classics. A small selection like the five doctors for example yes. However I suppose we are talking more here about Jess and her journey through modern Who. So I'll say in all previous incarnations that Jess has seen from 9-11 then for arguments sake. I hope you don't think less of people who miss out the classics, I'm sure there is a lot to be gained though doing so but I don't think it makes you any less of a fan.
Sorry, I didn´t like this episode at all. And it´ll take a while for series 7 to get the episodes, that I love coming. But I do agree on the non-spoiler condition! ;-)
A very entertaining and enjoyable reaction, and another one that prompted me to go back and rewatch an episode I didn't care for too much at the time, but liked a lot more five years on!
Why are the parents/Grandparents of the Companions so amazing. At this point I specifically mean Rory's dad and Donna's Grandad. Also Rose's Dad was cool too. Well the alternative universe where he lived/was successful.
I loved every single wonderful second of this!! This is going to be one of my favourite reactions of yours this season!! I can already tell lol. Thank you for bringing so much brightness, fun and joy into a bad, grey day! You are truly awesome for being able to do that you know! (I really mean it) Thank you. :)
The Doctor just straight up killed a person. He looked him in the eyes, and there was not even a shred of regret there. This is what happens when he travels alone for too long.
This was so fun watching this reaction! You cheered me up! It's one of the funniest episodes. I love Brian. And Rory's face when the Doctor kisses him!! 😂❤️
Now, does anyone here recognise those robots from another British TV show? There was this old children's show called Mission 2110 which had them on it. I think they were called Roboidz. XD
Fantastic reactions, "If you hear 'the Rains of Castamere', you run!" lol :D I thought you'd enjoy the Doctors 'gang' in this one ("Its new"). A really fun and funny episode peppered with some dark moments. The Doctors despatching of Walder Frey, I mean Solomon, displayed 11's darker side very well. Arya would have approved! Its generally not a fan-favourite but for me a distillation of Dr Who at is most entertaining and probably would work well as a starting episode for anyone new to the show. I'm sure its been suggested before, but if you get a chance you should definitely check out David Bradley in 'An Adventure in Space and Time', the one-off drama written by Mark Gatiss about the beginning of 'Doctor Who' the TV show back in 1963. Its a treat! :)
Yeah, c'mon Nathan, we all know Classic Who doesn't count. The first 26 Seasons aren't canon, the show REALLY starts at Season 27, with the 9th Doctor. I mean, why would you start with 1? Pfft, that makes no sense. No one believes in Classic Who! There is no such thing as Classic Who! Classic Who does not exist! There is no Classic Who! (If anyone gets what I'm referencing - well done, you're a Doctor Who fan.)
Some of have complained that this episode has a weak plot but seriously, when you've got dinosaurs, a space ship, the Eleventh Doctor, a legendary Egyptian queen, a big game hunter, Amy, Rory, Walder Frey and two jive talking robots WHO THE HELL NEEDS PLOT?!?!
I love this episode; it's just so much fun! Dinosaurs - on a space ship!! If you liked the sassy robots, you should really watch Peep Show, which is available on Amazon Prime. Great reaction!!
Your reaction to Amy’s and the Doctor’s conversation was me, a hundred percent. The way his head shot up as she says “vice versa,” the look he gives her. He doesn’t have to say a word. And I loved your reaction to Solomon’s fate. Well deserved, but damn if I didn’t expect the Doctor to save him. Nope! Not a hint of remorse, just cool murder for someone who he had no interest in letting live. I saw you getting more and more like, wait, what!??? And I was so there the first time I saw it. He wasn’t even really obviously angry, like we’ve seen him get. Just cold judgment that the universe didn’t need this particular piece of garbage. The Doctor sometimes reminds you why he’s feared.
This episode honestly has quite a dark moment for the doctor but it tends to get forgotten because of how casually they did it compared to the other episodes where more of a thing is made of it. "Did the Silurians beg?"
This episode aired in late 2012. Which means that Spoiler for Game of Thrones the Doctor's actions here possibly prevented his universe's version of the Red Wedding.
This episode is just a load of fun. Also, it has Mitchell and Webb playing the robots! Peep Show is my favourite comedy show, so its good to see the stars in Doctor Who. It's also interesting to see the 11th Doctor be straight up ruthless towards Solomon. He definitely deserved it, he was a horrific psychopath, but it's very rare to see the Doctor (especially the 11th) be quite that ruthless, killing him seemingly quite casually. On a completely different note, I just discovered, a couple of days ago, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. It only took me so long to find it because it was so terribly advertised :/ But it's really good, Adamsian surrealist comedy, mixed with an exciting and genuinely clever plot. It's been compared a lot to Moffat era Doctor Who - it certainly helps that Dirk is very 11th Doctor-esque. And also really cute. Anyway, totally off-topic, just thought you might check it out some time. But it's so obscure, so I know the chance you'll react to it is about 0.1% lol
This episode really spit the fan base and showed who was a classic Who fan and who was a New Who one Classic who fans didn't care the Doctor killed someone New Who fans really really did
I really really enjoyed this episode, though it's probably the flimsiest from Chibnall. I'm glad he's in charge now because I really like his vision for this show.
Not a spoiler, just an interesting fact. The big game hunter was played by Sherlock's Inspector Lastrade. And I would have loved to see Rory's Dad and Wilf be companions. bet they would have given the Doctor a run for his money.
D_wigz of course she won't! When has she delivered on fandom expectations throughout her watching Doctor Who? She literally thinks the exact opposite a lot of the time.
"Two beautiful ladies? Back from planet leave? Let me take those bags....My name is Olaf Petersen! I am VERY good in bed!" - ("Red Dwarf" fans will get the joke, as the guy playing Rory's dad had a small part on that show saying those lines.)
I recommend you don't get too attached to characters because you obviously don't take too kindly to them dying or leaving and you'll save yourself a lot of heartbreak. Don't be shocked by the Doctor's decision to let someone die. Very rarely there are just some arseholes in the universe who don't deserve a second chance.
Could i make a request please? I would absolutely love if you uploaded an unedited reaction to 'Angels take manhatten'. Without the show footage included ofcourse, wouldn't want you to get a copyright strike! Would just love to see your full reaction for that episode if at all possible, I'm sure im not the only one! THANKYOU!
I enjoyed the reaction more than the show. The oddest thing for me on my rewatch btw, other than Mitchell and Webb's robots,, was hearing Sunetra Sarker pulling an Indian accent.
I loved the lightheartedness in this episode, but I didn't and still don't like the way it felt like they were weaning the doctor and us off of the Ponds. It was really starting to put me off when I first watched it.
Rory's dad always reminded me of Wilfred. Especially the bit when he wants to see the Earth.
R.I.P Tricey the Triceratops
Shoot me, but I absolutely love this episode! It´s just pure fun. Not every episode has to be ground-breaking
Rory's dad is the cutest. Also Ron Weasley and Rory are brothers, beautiful.
11:07 wasn't in the script ... Matt just loves to kiss people
Yeah it was... Tumblr fan girls like to make stuff up.
Lol Such a hypocrite ;D Chris Chiball said himself it wasn't.
@@keplerthe3399 do you know what a hypocrite is?
Jess: "I'm in love with that triceratops so much!"
Me: "Oh dear"
Jess: "And the robots"
Me: "Oh dear, oh dear."
I don't often think of this episode, but when I do it never fails to make me smile. Thanks for making it doubly as wide this time.
Brian Williams. Best accidental companion ever! 7:30 Okay everyone, Jess has just put 'Triceratops' on her wish list.
The Robots are voiced by beloved British comedy duo Mitchell and Webb. They're possibly the greatest comedy duo in England at the moment in my opinion, they have their own series called Peep Show which is fantastic and I can't recommend enough
It's interesting how many people believe that Mitchell and Webb had any role in writing Peep Show
I thought they we’re Matt Smith and Arthur. They sound really similar 😂😂
15:03 Damn, forgot how dark he could get at points
Alex James These were rare moments but they were there for 11 like Amys choice and just before Demons run to Rory. Capt runaway was another that I sadly missed Sesska's reaction on and it's a scary side to 11 that I wish was explored more in hindsight.
fleason771 Will be interesting to see her reaction to him "honoring the victims first" next episode
fleason771 I think Eleven's darker side was explored quite well actually.
The Valeyard will always be a part of him.
The Girl Who Waited....
I've always liked this episode for some reason
It was so stupidly entertaining
"Dinosaurs, on a spaceship!" And they're off! ... :)
That beach is the same beach Tennant said goodbye to Rose on :D
"Bad Wolf Bay"
Tendy.
But.
As it happens, the beach where the location shots were filmed, Southerndown, is popular with fossil hunters. Not that you'll find many dinosaurs there, mind you, but plenty of trilobites, ammonites and the like. Southerndown was also "Bad Wolf Bay" in the Tennant era.

fun fact those robots were re used props from a kids game show called Mission 2110, it was a copl show that was sadly cancelled (shame since the show actually had a story and it was cool)
The the droids were reused later in s7 Rings of Akhaten
I'm glad you liked it ! It's my guilty pleasure episode for the eleventh doctor !
That kiss between The Doctor and Rory was actually improvised by Matt, you can see Arthur being quite surprised 😂
Tricey's death is the saddest thing ever :'(
I thought you'd like this one Sesska. You'll likely be happy to hear the man who wrote this episode has been named the new showrunner as well after Moffat's departure.
....."happy to hear".....
She's not watched Torchwood s1
Currently Jamie is the longest running companion from 1966-1969 with 113 episodes.
21 stories, the brig actually has 31
The guy who plays the Solomon also plays the First Doctor. Not during the 1900s, but he shows up a few times during modern Who and he's played by this guy.
Just thought it was interesting.
The sassy robots from this episode were played by Mitchell & Webb who have done sketch shows in England. They are really funny. Check out their vids on youtube. I love Brian and does him being Rory's dad make Rory a Weasley?
osumarko omgosh thanks so much I never noticed that. Now its so obvious! Course I didn't know Iron Fist is Loras tyrell .. I feel so dumb right now.
Lol. And here's me trying to think of the camp comedians it could be....Alan Carr, David Walliams etc..
One of the most wasted cameos ever
David Walliams was already on the show - played the ratty alien Gibbis in The God Complex (the one with the minotaur in the hotel).
Brian is of course Mark Williams another british comic actor, best known internationally probably as Arthur Weasley in HP of course, but in the UK he was famous long before that as part of one of the most popular sketch shows of the 90s "The Fast Show". Dinosaurs On A Spaceship!!!
Trivia: Jamie is the longest companion who I remembered with the 2nd Doctor! Love this episode it has got everything. reactions were great too!!
Such an underrated episode, one of my favourites of Matt's era. It's just so much fun.
The best thing about watching these is remembering all the insane theories people had during this season.
Rory is the Master
Little factoid that beach is the same beach used in doomsday time of angels and flesh and stone

Mitchell & Webb as the sassie robots. Legends of British TV
This was so much fun! :D

Walder Frey seems to follow u everywhere , Harry Potter and now Doctor who 😂
The Strain next?
David Bradley is amazing
A very entertaining and enjoyable reaction, and another one that prompted me to go back and rewatch an episode I didn't care for too much at the time, but liked a lot more five years on!
Why are the parents/Grandparents of the Companions so amazing.
At this point I specifically mean Rory's dad and Donna's Grandad.

The Doctor just straight up killed a person. He looked him in the eyes, and there was not even a shred of regret there.
This is what happens when he travels alone for too long.
Nah, he done it a fair few times in Classic Who when he was around companions. This "travelled alone for too long" is just unnecessary New Who angst.
Tomato tomato. Please don't fight, guys.
Okay.
That Guy killed the dinosaur, that was just the simple and quickly revenge.
Rather more to the point he earlier committed genocide against an entire intelligent species.
Haha loved your reaction throughout this episode! It was adorable! Look forward to future reactions!
This was so fun watching this reaction! You cheered me up! It's one of the funniest episodes. I love Brian. And Rory's face when the Doctor kisses him!! 😂❤️
One of my favorites! Had a feeling you'd enjoy this one.
The robots are voiced by two famous British Comedians btw - David Mitchell and Robert Webb :)
I knew I recognised the voices!
Now, does anyone here recognise those robots from another British TV show? There was this old children's show called Mission 2110 which had them on it. I think they were called Roboidz. XD
Yes and they've been used so much in dw since then
Fantastic reactions, "If you hear 'the Rains of Castamere', you run!" lol :D
I thought you'd enjoy the Doctors 'gang' in this one ("Its new").
Jamie, is currently the companion with the longest run I believe
Nathan Jarrett She means in the new era.
Kyle Hill alright
Yeah, c'mon Nathan, we all know Classic Who doesn't count. The first 26 Seasons aren't canon, the show REALLY starts at Season 27, with the 9th Doctor. I mean, why would you start with 1? Pfft, that makes no sense.
No one believes in Classic Who! There is no such thing as Classic Who! Classic Who does not exist! There is no Classic Who!
(If anyone gets what I'm referencing - well done, you're a Doctor Who fan.)
Yes it's Jamie then I think K9
I think Sarah Jane is 5th ?
"I don't like the sassy robots anymore." *Hugs*
BTW, a special celebrity bowling bit from Nerdist around the time of this series of Doctor Who. Wnjoy!
ruclips.net/video/fQfvLpfXe2U/видео.html
And with this episode, Rory is an honorary Weasley.
Loves the reaction!
The 11th Doctor's theme seems especially fitting for this episode.

"Did the Silurians beg?"
Hey Sesska. I was just wondering, how do you watch all of your doctor who episodes?
How easy is it without your wand, Mr. Weasley?!
Sassy Robots, Rory's Dad and Dinosaurs! What a fantastic, fun episode. Loving your reactions as always Jess ☺
This episode aired in late 2012. Which means that
Spoiler for Game of Thrones
the Doctor's actions here possibly prevented his universe's version of the Red Wedding.
Can I just say, I think you'll really like the next episode. It isn't always rated so highly, but I think you'll really enjoy it, I know I did.
This episode is just a load of fun. Also, it has Mitchell and Webb playing the robots! Peep Show is my favourite comedy show, so its good to see the stars in Doctor Who. It's also interesting to see the 11th Doctor be straight up ruthless towards Solomon. It's not that rare in Doctor Who overall for the Doctor to be heartless
It's Adamsian because the character and premise was created by Douglas Adams. Who also wrote for classic Who.
This episode really spit the fan base and showed who was a classic Who fan and who was a New Who one
Classic who fans didn't care the Doctor killed someone
New Who fans really really did
So glad that you´re back! Can´t wait for the rest of series 7!
I really really enjoyed this episode, though it's probably the flimsiest from Chibnall. I'm glad he's in charge now because I really like his vision for this show.
Loved your Reactions. I for one really like the fun Episodes.
Not a spoiler, just an interesting fact. The big game hunter was played by Sherlock's Inspector Lastrade.
And I would have loved to see Rory's Dad and Wilf be companions. bet they would have given the Doctor a run for his money.
Ooooooo I'm really excited for the rest of series 7 reviews, somethings coming. Not gonna say what but I'm excited!
Oh My God I forgot about the Mitchell and Webb robots
i am addicted to these reactions
Next is one of my favourite episodes
I like this episode. Simple but fun with a good cast
This season is pretty much on par with season 6 for me. Don't know if you'll think the same though.
D_wigz of course she won't! When has she delivered on fandom expectations throughout her watching Doctor Who? She literally thinks the exact opposite a lot of the time.
FFS RUclips, WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED!!!!
No, it isn't. it's David Bradley playing Solomon.
hey lady, what are ya thoughts on the darkness of the Doctor showing itself?
Ordinaryguy82 I think the jaw to the floor gives a bit of a clue ha ha. He gave him no choice in retaliation, an extremely rare 11 moment.
Ah, Mitchell and Webb...
"Two beautiful ladies? Back from planet leave? Let me take those bags....My name is Olaf Petersen! I am VERY good in bed!"
- ("Red Dwarf" fans will get the joke, as the guy playing Rory's dad had a small part on that show saying those lines.)
Trust me, there are no complaints about what you are wearing.
It wasn't a great episode, but it was a fun diversion. Great reaction.
The Doctor kissing Rory wasn't scripted - Matt kissed him because he wanted to kiss Arthur.
You have to watch Outlander, is a great show :)
This may be a stupid question, but what made you fall in love with the Eleventh Doctor?
The fandom actually had a huge meltdown when on the postcard it's 9s/10s TARDIS not 11s
It kind of looks like the same image they used in 13's reveal video as well, now that you mention it
I recommend you don't get too attached to characters because you obviously don't take too kindly to them dying or leaving and you'll save yourself a lot of heartbreak.
Don't be shocked by the Doctor's decision to let someone die. Very rarely there are just some arseholes in the universe who don't deserve a second chance.
Sassy robots ftw
Rory is a Weasley.
THANKYOU!
She is doing that, among other episodes this season (inc the already released 7x01) on her Patreon, so they won't be available here.
Mark McKeown Thanks for the heads up :)
No problem, you can find it here - www.patreon.com/sesskasays/
I love you and I love your reactions to Doctor Who! ❤️
Rory´s thoughts after the kiss: Why 11? Why not 13? :D
I enjoyed the reaction more than the show. The oddest thing for me on my rewatch btw, other than Mitchell and Webb's robots,, was hearing Sunetra Sarker pulling an Indian accent.
That opening 😂
Okey its not Drama and Big Reveal but it's fun! Spacehip, dinosaurs and most importantly BRIAN! We need more Brian!
Sadly, Samuel L. Jackson was unavailable to do a cameo for this episode.
I like this episode next one is good too
2 Harry Potter actors and 1 from Sherlock, it's Christmas.
The Doctor seems to have poor luck with robots executing dinosaurs whenever he goes.
I loved the lightheartedness in this episode, but I didn't and still don't like the way it felt like they were weaning the doctor and us off of the Ponds. It was really starting to put me off when I first watched it.
For onc ewe see the Doctor doing his own killing
I love
It was a very strange filler episode but had some fun parts
You could say that about most episodes this series
