Damien's book "High Magick" was the primer I seriously wish had existed back when I was first starting to learn magick, years ago. Even now, reading through it, it's proven thus far to be amazingly good at helping to strengthen some vital core skills that have either become weak over time, or were never strong to begin with, and that has seriously strengthened my magick as a whole. I really love his work, and am excited to learn that he's come out with a new title! I'll look forward to picking this one up! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

in the golden Dawn Journal , Kabbalah, they mentioned the same thing, about the angels and archangels sharing a name, but are different they kind of have "last names" for each one, based on sphere of influence...like an angel of yesod, last name would be "yesodel"
Would love to see you do an interview with Damien. Food for thought maybe. Noticed in 1 or 2 of his interviews he tends to give some great nuggets of information kinda unintentionally.
The Lammasu statues were placed at the entrances of the temples of the sumerians and is said to scare/guard off evil spirits. A great book-cover i think :) I enjoy you videos very much FF, thank you.
I love his books, as well as his audiobook, A Course in High Magick, which is a commentary of his High Magick book. He makes the topic discussions better organized and easier digest. As a neophyte, I was all over the place. Now, my craft is more defined and developing nicely. Good review.
As soon as I took off the book cover I was delighted by what I saw - black hardcover lined with crimson on the inside and the sephirot embossed in black. It has the look of an expensive esoteric. I keep the book as it is without the cover. The inside has just as much meat as the outside implies. I have learned more, also crystallizing what I already know and it expands while simplifying the more advanced rituals. I didn't know why I felt in sync with it until he starts mentioning Damon Brand. I have many of his books and that's how I really got into sigils. I have this and High Magick on Audible too. I cannot get enough of it, lol.

By and large a positive review, and I would not ask you to bad mouth another Magician, but I am curious to know what parts of this work you didn’t agree with or what didn’t resonate.
I just love how he's got the Divine name describing the tarot, from what i got to see through your flip through...Something I've studied half my life but never seen the way he brings the divine description in this manner...Loved that...
I am late to the party but just finished this. It was such a great read without feeling inadequate. He's definitely one to watch. I loved being inspired by the way he interpreted the rituals and bite sized history lessons. It's what was missing in so many other texts for those new to magick. Some complex concepts explained simply. On his patreon he explained recently releasing another book but that will be more of a compendium. About to read High Magick and Ritual next. Ps. Had some astonishing results from Damon Brands 72 Angels... quite incredible.

This book looks most interesting. I've been pausing the video where you have it open in order to read it and while it doesn't seem to be beautifully written it is competently written and that'll do. My only nitpick is that I refuse to use Amazon for anything so if I do decide to buy it I'll have to find it elsewhere. I certainly won't preach at you but I'll simply say that Amazon=Evil and I suggest that you study Bezos, his connections to the military industrial complex and his monster corporation which values money above human life and freedom
Amazon wrecked absolute hell on us here in Seattle, where they're headquartered. I could go on at length about everything they've done to destroy this city, but it would take far too long. Their gentrification of this city, as their rather milquetoast employees moved in on Capitol Hill, the once highly alternative gay district of Seattle, caused Robert, the owner of the awesome local occult shop here, to loose the lease on his store. After twenty years faithfully paying his rent on time, the property management changed hands, and Robert was handed a letter that made it quite clear that they didn't want "his kind" renting from them, and kicked him out. In its place now is the lamest t-shirt and sunglasses store imaginable, put there specifically to cater to Amazon's employees with their far tamer tastes. Robert fortunately found a great new location (Ha! Thanks, no less, to a reporter for The Stranger, our alternative press newspaper here in town, actually casting a spell for the first time ever to help Robert find a new location!), but we were out of an occult shop here in Seattle for a while, and he was seriously worried for a by about never being able to find a new location for his shop. They really are evil incarnate. I say this, @FoolishFish , not to try and make you feel bad about buying from them, and I hope I haven't! I'm just here to add to the griping, which I do about Amazon whenever possible. They really have wrecked havoc on my beloved city!

Because if it's the former of the two, I'll gladly give you a point by point breakdown as to why they're so horrible. before having any true comprehension of religion, i have believed that angels exist across all religions. but theres also bad, and i would not see out the bad. i would much rather seek out the good and stay on that side for obvious reasons. i read a little of the preview of this book and it was very interesting. ive learned about uriel and ive learned about azrael. both of which are totally beautiful sounding beings. ive had a divine experience myself but it was not of the good. hopefully though it was a sign of "hey this shit exists" rather than a premonition (which i have those too). good stuff. i would steer from the whole magick part though, and focus moreso on simple requests and prayers. (i should add that you dont have to be a christian or a catholic or anything to pray, anyone who tells you otherwise can screw off. you do you!)

I spent 13 years in law enforcement. How do you practice ceremonial magic in prison let alone on death row which is supermax? Even an ordinary prison the guards go over your toothbrush and you've got like a foot to work in? If you're lucky? Plus many prisons confiscate things to do with the occult because it tends to create tensions inmates thinking somebody else is cursing them etc.
Very nicely done for a mass-market hardback, as you point out. I enjoyed watching Damian Echols on Midnight Gospel. I’ve dipped into his RUclips channel a bit, but don’t know much about him. I may at least pick up High Magic. I love collecting primers.
You mentioned you messed up the LBRP " last saturday" ...is that where you changed the positions of the angels and switched air and water? Is that the "messed up?" Or did you correct what was incorrect in the golden dawn? Please clarify?

Well, yes, that's what Echols writes. It's a possible explanation. In my recent Esoteric Saturday videos I've been exploring how the LBRP might be reshuffled to be more congruent with all other known categories... But again, the world of categories must be remembered to be only that. Maps. They're imperfect. Shortcuts to help us understand reality, but not too be confused with reality. ...foolish fish i dare you to review the simon necronomicon Tbh this is probably the most complete book of magick there is. he was born and raised in the state next to mine. here in the south, we are souther baptists and often blame witchcraft. so makes sense why he was demonized
My question about damien echols is how did he get that kind of high magick information in prison? I mean i understand magick in prison, i had a friend that was in prison for 4 years and won over the rights to start a wiccan church group in prison twice a week.
He does all the different practices he teaches, and more. He did literally nothing BUT practice and study for decades, devoting 20 hours a day much of the time. He was on death row for almost 19 years, sitting in solitary, where he did not EVER see the sun during 10 of those years. It was his practice that got him through it. Damien, along with the two other people, were wrongly accused of murdering three young boys. They were finally let out of prison in 2011 after DNA test results, and a group of rock stars raising a stink. There are a few different documentaries and a feature film made about the three of them. He's an amazing character.
Interesting have to check it out! Not worked with Angels, always wanted to but on studying various books and sites, the view has always been that you have to be very experienced and that. Angels are not willing to work with the mage, unless they are very holy and worthy. They will not come when called etc Whereas demons are more approachable and much easier and more willing to work with the mage. Also how does the praactionser know he has invoked and not an angel who has taken the form of an angel to decieve the mage, as demons can appear in what form they wish. Is this possibility covered off in the book, as it is an important point and one novice practitioners should be aware of?
I need some help please. How can I know which angels are God's angels and which are fallen angels. E.g. now I am trying to find the info whether Vevaliah is God's or fallen angel l but I can't find it anywhere.
Just a correction he was not "wrongly" convicted. He plead guilty to get an Alford plea, that is a matter of public record. If he really wanted to clear his name then he would have continued to fight. Would you plead guilty to the brutal murder of 3 boys if you didn't do it? That conviction doesn't go away.

You don't need physical objects to practice, a lot of what he did was just through vision.

My method remains: Rafael as fire in the East, Michael as air in the South.

I would say you need to have studied high Magick first because he leaves some steps out however a very good book I bought it
You need to be able to see beyond the literal. Not many will be able. I am hopeful though. We are all one but on different stages of path.

Tbh this is probably the most complete book of magick there is. he was born and raised in the state next to mine. here in the south, we are souther baptists and often blame witchcraft. so makes sense why he was demonized
My question about damien echols is how did he get that kind of high magick information in prison? I mean i understand magick in prison, i had a friend that was in prison for 4 years and won over the rights to start a wiccan church group in prison twice a week.
His girlfriend sent him dozens of books on every type of magick, and more
He corresponded with all kinds of yogis and stuff and stuff. He got regular visits from I think a Taoist master as well

He does all the different practices he teaches, and more. He did literally nothing BUT practice and study for decades, devoting 20 hours a day much of the time. He was on death row for almost 19 years, sitting in solitary, where he did not EVER see the sun during 10 of those years. It was his practice that got him through it. Damien, along with the two other people, were wrongly accused of murdering three young boys. They were finally let out of prison in 2011 after DNA test results, and a group of rock stars raising a stink. There are a few different documentaries and a feature film made about the three of them. He's an amazing character.

Not worked with Angels, always wanted to but on studying various books and sites, the view has always been that you have to be very experienced and that. Angels are not willing to work with the mage, unless they are very holy and worthy. They will not come when called etc
Whereas demons are more approachable and much easier and more willing to work with the mage.
Also how does the praactionser know he has invoked and not an angel who has taken the form of an angel to decieve the mage, as demons can appear in what form they wish.
Is this possibility covered off in the book, as it is an important point and one novice practitioners should be aware of?

I need some help please. How can I know which angels are God's angels and which are fallen angels. E.g. now I am trying to find the info whether Vevaliah is God's or fallen angel l but I can't find it anywhere.

Just a correction he was not "wrongly" convicted. He plead guilty to get an Alford plea, that is a matter of public record. If he really wanted to clear his name then he would have continued to fight. Would you plead guilty to the brutal murder of 3 boys if you didn't do it? That conviction doesn't go away.
You would if it gets you off death row, and he has been continuing to fight it 🤷♂️
