I'm kinda disappointed that more people have not heard of you guys, Ive gone to seen bands like skeletonwitch and the black dahlia murder live from their early days and I thought your were the most promising of them. Amazing lyrics with the combination of sound. (update 2022) sad to see a band a gifted as you all were not see success in the music you all played, I just played your music in the car and my wife asked who this was and with a hurt heart I said it was The Mire a band I love and will always listen to because you guys were band that could have been.
The spectre of your beauty Lingers on Fragile Light as whispers Barely audible Underground I'll run Where all of our promises came undone If I am your shadow You must be the sun The spectre of your beauty Lingers on Brittle Thin as whiskers Barely visible The burden of obsession Drags me through The alter of confession Cannot free me from you
carrying on the legacy of heavy/beautifully written post metal sound. eyesofsound records (they're label) sent me a free demo of these guys when i bought the BOSSK trilogy set. fell in love with this band ever since. these guys know what they're doing. the mire kicks fucking ass.
I gotta say, despite my love for the music of people like Devin Townsend, and bands like Opeth and all the great stuff they have put out this year, I think this remains the best song I've heard all year. It's lodged itself into my brain, and I'm completely happy about that. Really great stuff. Not got around to it yet, but I'll be picking up both albums very soon!
they've been working on a full length album - 'Glass Catherdrals'. Producer posted on 18th Oct that it's finished. Should have a release date soon - fingers crossed!!
I agree about coming late to this party. Ever since Isis broke up, its been pretty boring out there. The Mire is fantastic, and I wish I had known about them before. I have to thank Bandcamp for getting them on my radar.
Miss this band :(

Beautiful and just hella powerful song!
That 1 dislike must have preferred pub karaoke in a run down pikey bar similar to Phoenix Nights. Silly fool!
@VirajooiJ The Bassist uses C A D G tuning as far as I know... That should get you started learning it by ear. Good luck.
