  • GSXR Gas Cutting Out While Riding Issue (FIXED)
    #motorcycle #motovlog #superbike
    While installing the kickstand sensor eliminator did fix the issue I still recommend you to just replace the kickstand springs instead as that is the real issue here. Though I never had a problem with forgetting, you could forget to put up your kickstand before riding and that could potentially cause an accident.
    Use a eliminator with caution if you decide to do that.
    To ensure this is the issue you have you can use duct tape to tape the kickstand sensor in the all the way pushed down position then take your bike for a ride on a bumpy road. If your bike no longer cuts off ignition randomly while riding then your kickstand springs needs replacing. If you still have this issue then the whole sensor may need replacing or it could be a problem with something else.

    I got a gsxr 1000 2006, it sometimes cuts out when I switch gears loses all power and the RPMs drop down to 0 and a red light comes on and when that happens I’m just coasting and I ether gotta rip the throttle for it to cut back on or pull over n restart it. but when I rip the throttle shit gets scary like im finna wheelie or sum you think it could be the same thing? My mechanics already know but have no idea why????

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  4 месяца назад

      That sounds exactly how my 600 was acting. I had to give a ton of throttle to keep it on or pull over and try restart it.
      I would definitely check the kickstand sensor.
      So you don't spend a bunch on parts you can try get a eliminator plug and see if that solved the issues.
      If it does then if you really want that sensor you can replace it or just use the eliminator plug just remember to put the stand up before riding off

    I’m getting this exact problem it’s like it looses power then the power kicks right back in. But I’m getting a F1 light as soon as it happens. You think it’s this problem your talking about? Have the exact same bike 2011 gsxr 600

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  Год назад +2

      It could be! Easy way to test it is to duct tape or ziptie the kickstand sensor pushed all the way in then go for a ride.
      If the issue goes away then you can either eliminate the sensor with a plug or just replace the kickstand spring with a new one. If not then you may have another issue or the sensor itself is faulty

      Only way to know for sure is to take it for a test ride unfortunately 😂
      Maybe stay close by and not too far

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  Год назад

      The spring doesn't have to necessarily push it in all the way till it won't push in no more as long as it disengages the kill switch your good. You just want the spring to be strong enough so the kickstand doesn't drop down just enough to allow the sensor to kill the bikes spark while riding which with a weakened older spring would allow to happen.
      Mine doesn't push the sensor pin in all the way either although I Installed a new spring and it did work. I just unpluged the sensor and put a eliminator plug anyways. Personal preference and Its just a habit to always put it up before riding anyways. I never forget

    I have 2006 gsxr 750. My bike has recently started shutting off on me randomly. It’s never on the first start. I can start it and it runs fine the first ride always I can take a hour ride. Then I shut it off and start it a few mins later and randomly while riding the red light will come on and the bike will shut off immediately. Doesn’t give me enough time to check the code. It just dies. And does it so randomly I can’t figure it out. Could kickstand sensor cause this?

    • @dirtlamp3603
      @dirtlamp3603 3 часа назад

      Did u find out what the problem was?

  • @irocss85
    @irocss85 6 месяцев назад

    Does that sensor interupt the fuel or the spark of the kick stand is down? I always thought it only interrupted the starter relay?
    So if the bike is running and you put the stand down it'll kill the engine?

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah its like a secondary kill switch which cuts off the spark to the engine.
      If you start the engine then put it in gear then put the kickstand down then yes the bike will shut off. Now if you put the bike in neutral then put the kickstand down the bike won't shut off.
      The bikes engine only shuts off if you put the kickstand down when you are in gear.
      So a weak kickstand spring can cause the bike to shut off when riding especially if you go over a decent bump in the road

    My bike is shutting off after like 3 minutes of riding it. It will start back but when I give it gas it cuts off again. Any ideas?

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  Год назад +2

      If It were me I would start with the simple and cheap things first. Check the kickstand sensor. Without cutting the wire try disconnect the wire from the sensor and just jump those two connectors on the wire with a peice of wire and take it for a test ride just close by in case it happens again. As time goes on the kickstand spring looses some strength and when your riding it say a bump or vibrations make it drop down just so slightly.
      Then if that didn't work cleaning the fuel injectors and maybe replace the fuel strainer as well since those are cheap.
      If it still does it then I would get inline spark plug tester to test all the spark plugs while installed on the bike make sure a spark isn't being missed. Then if a spark is being missed I would replace them and then test it again if some are still missing sparks then go and try test the spark plug coils.
      Just a few tips! But it's all just a process of elimination

    I'm getting a similar problem with a 07 gsxr 600. While holding throttle my power will cut or boost randomly without moving the throttle.
    Edit: revs so not drop or climb, idle is stable. Could it be a oil pressure problem? Or fuel pressure problem?

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  Год назад

      I would try and splice the kickstand sensor wirea together or just tape the sensor pushed all the way in then try ride and see if the issue persists. If it does then your kickstand sensor or spring isn't the issue.
      Just because it's something so simple and cheap to do which does cause the same symptoms. It's a pretty common issue with the gsxrs. Better to rule out the cheap and simple first.
      Good luck man!

    • @gsXXXrhub

      @throttlehappyyy6788 hey, I think I figured it out. My gear indicator sensor is either broken or dirty. The throttle inconsistency only happens when the gear indicator fails to display a gear or the incorrect gear. Completely runs find if the correct gear is showing on the display.
      Didn't know 07 gsxr had a gear sensor monitor that assists the fuel injectors. Pretty sure that's the problem.

    • @throttlehappyyy6788
      @throttlehappyyy6788  Год назад +1

      @gsXXXrHub Nice man! Glad you found the issue. Those gear position sensors aren't real expensive. Now that you mention that it only happens when the gear indicator goes blank makes sense now. At least it's a pretty simple fix.
      Hope you get it running good soon
      Ride safe ✌️

      @raaddear3068 fixed.
      Issue was the sensor for my kickstand and gear sensor was bad. Caused incorrect air to fuel ratio and made the bike choke out.
