About Beltex:
Beltex is a game where you build factories.
Extract numbers from the map
Construct buildings that perform mathematical operations
Lay down an expansive belt network
Deliver numbers to core building to reach next level
Build new production lines and reuse old ones
Unlock new buildings and numbers
Upgrade your buildings and belts to work faster
Expand your factory across a huge hex map

Hexagon shapes are if you hold control + shift then click and you can move in parallelograms. Hold Shift and you can get a line without it bouncing out of the line you are attempting to lay out. Hold control and by itself and it will give you a block.
Yeah, I discovered that in the last ep I think. Weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons.
Just to add my voice, in the top left corner are hints/shortcuts to use with copy/pasting and deleting (using shift, control or both at the same time). But it also took me some time before I noticed, and I was also complaining about the fact that it was not user friendly... turns out the user itself was not friendly.
And you were right, this is a very addicting ultimate zen game! Love it!
Yeah, I discovered that in the last ep I think. Weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons.
"Why do we make X" - normally the answer is "Because it was needed for some previous goal".
The storage bins could be used as a separate part of the factory in the background - make arrays to make larger numbers and then used them to hold the 10s, 20s, 50s etc to make them ready for future numbers - I think it says they hold 10,000 numbers
There are achievements that require to deliver x numbers per second. The max upgrades might not be enough to reach the requirements, so the storage could be a solution to deliver a huge amount of numbers in a few seconds. I've not finished the game so I'm not sure, but I guess it could be a possibility.
@ yes, it works, just like the "burst method" in shapez (just did it at level 13 to get the "18 achievement" with 1 storage and 6 speed3 belts; only very few seconds of 18 throughput were needed).
the storages can also be used as merger/splitters with 12 belts (between 1 input and 11 outputs, and 11 inputs and 1 output), thus very useful eg for better (balanced) distribution of harvested numbers to several rows of machines. in contrast to shapez, they also store different values at the same time, apparently like a fifo buffer (no idea yet whether or how to sort such a sushi belt again).
ps: they hold max 5000 numbers.
The x numbers per second is a very simple achievment to get, and I got it as I was playing, no special builds needed
For 82, since we need 32s anyway for upgrades, I built a huge 32 factory and a 50 factory, then split off some 32s to add to the 50s
the storage allows you to store up to 5000 items. Once you have 5000 you can use them without the input and they output faster. Really like this game and I wouldn't have found it if I didn't watch your vids - keep up the good work!
How does that help? Sounds like you only delay delivery to the core. The belts don't move any faster
Reminder of factorization:
- Easy to spot: ends with a multiple of 2, it can be divided by 2
- If it ends with a 5, it can be divided by 5
- If the sum of the digits is a multiple of 3, it can be divided by 3
Then just apply the classic factorization tree (don't know if you learn that in the US)
ends with 0 : can also be divided by 5
@@Anson_AKB indeed, I assumed it had already been divided by 2
I should have said: "if it ends with a multiple of 5"
Yes, I'm aware of these simple divisors. However, with a constant migraine, my brain does't do mental math well
Try CONTROL + SHIFT with copy/paste? (info in top-left of screen says this should work).
Also good when deleting a bunch of stuff
Yeah, I discovered that in the last ep I think. Weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons.
82 is 81+1, 81 is 3x3x3x3 which is very compact if you do 3x3x9.
The "storage" component of Storages seems iffy at best, but I think what they could be useful for is as a giant distributor (sort of like using a warehouse and a butt-tonne of loaders in and out in modded Factorio).
storages can be used as combined mergers/splitters with up to 12 belts (between 1 in and 11 out, and 11 in and 1 out), eg for balanced distribution of several harvesting lines in front of some rows of machines.
I haven't finished the series, so you probably already found this, but just in case, if you zoom all the way out all of the number fields are labeled.
That was not the case when I played
Look at the left Corner of the Screen...
Yeah, I discovered that in the last ep I think. Weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons.
Well, the 82 could have been a 9x9+1 deal.
Things can be done in may different ways
i'm just making a table of the required numbers ...
the upgrade levels seem to always need two different numbers, with the following upgrade level no longer requiring the lower of the two, a bigger amount of the higher number (becoming the new lower number of that next level), and a new higher number. not sure whether and which numbers are the same for levels and for upgrade levels (missing data for the first levels; would have to restart the game).
edit: do all games use the same numbers as level requirements? apparently not:
i'm at level 13 just like KoS, but she needs 1.5k of 265 while i need 1.5k of 266 !?!?
edit2: i'm at level 14 now, just like KoS at the start of next video, and it is now 310 for KoS and 364 for me (both need 2k)
We call that "replay value" 🙃
That's great that they vary the numbers, make them a little more random so people don't just copy/paste what they see on YT
@@KatherineOfSky yes, absolutely.
and i have no intention of copying, but was thinking of optimizing my solutions on replays (i'll play this game at least twice to get all achievements), and most of all whether and when old "number production chains" were no longer needed, could be replaced by new ones, or could be used as partial results of following levels.
@@Anson_AKB I wasn't specifically referring to you: I remember a bunch of folks were having issues with Shapez, and they watched my vids to get the solutions they counldn't figure out. But yes, you can definitely re-use production in future numbers. I did that a few times ont he way to level 30
yeah at lvl 13 i need 245
yiou know you can make square builds? thats why there is a squerce copy&paste xD
Yes, but I am going to play my way. And right now, the situation is working perfectly.
@@KatherineOfSky was just ponting out cause you meowed abut the copy tool xd
it seems to me that the game wants you to use higher level extractors
336=6x7x8
She can't yet. Those numbers aren't unlocked
@@greenleaf44i know i'm just saying
Alternately, 336 = 4 x (4 + (4 x (4 + (4 x 4))))
@@apophys1110 👍))
@@greenleaf44 That is needed for an upgrade, so she could wait until she has those numbers unlocked and then do the upgrade
The RUclipsr Blindness is real. PLEASE take a look at the top left when you change tools, the button combinations contexts change, letting you delete and even copy in parallelogram shapes, not just rectangles!
Yeah, I discovered that in the last ep I think. Weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons.
167 is 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 minus 89 🤪
(4 x 4 x 4 x 4) minus (3 x 3 x 3 x 3) minus (2 x 2 x 2) 🤪
technically any number can be reduced to binary and ternary number system 🤪
128 + 32 + 4 + 2 + 1
or
81 + 81 + 3 + 2
I just took the 82s I'd made for the previous level, doubled them and added 3
@@ЕвгенийБагрянов-н9э I'm looking to try a Power of Two bus system.
I just hate it how you keep Complaining about this while in the Top LEFT CORNOR it keeps telling you to Hold CRTL + SHIFT to get parallelograms , Same by the BULLDOZER. its soo annoying to watch you 40 Min complaining about this -.- ahhhhhhhhh
Then STOP WATCHING. Simple solution. Stop hating on me and fix your damn problem.
@@KatherineOfSky TBH no i really like to watch you but its makes Furious how you keep Blaming the DEVS to add something what is already ingame if you would look on the whole screen.
I do not have any Problems its just annoying if you like to watch you and the game but you keep Complaining about things what are already ingame if you check the whole screen and read.
@@berni1212 Well, stop being furious. Do you not see that you are causing your own issue? It YOU making yourself mad... nothing to do with me. This game as a weird UI design: didn't see if because the text is nowhere near the buttons. Just stop watching and get the hell off my channel. I don't need your blasting complaints. It does not improve my day
@@KatherineOfSky I won't leave just saying, and i don't see the UI as Wierd since almost every Explain from the Buttons was top left so i saw them instandly when playing the game.
@@berni1212 IMO they should be a tooltip or in the lower right. I only saw them in the top left at the very end of recording the series.
