As a fat woman who's been bullied, teased, shamed, pointedly stared at, had people refuse to make eye contact with me, harassed, had people yell at me on the street out of moving cars, and generally dehumanized and told/shown I'm worthless because of my weight, starting with my own family, Lizzo has changed my life. And I'm old.

To be fair despite being overweight, Lizzo is mad talented, is funny, and beautiful. So she got a lot of going for her besides being heavy.

@@diligentsun1154 no her fingers didn't move at all (which is how you change pitch) and her bow wasn't touching the strings. she may very well play the violin and was just told not to for audio clarity but she didn't do anything here to show that she knows how to play violin. (still love aidy though, i wouldn't ever expect her to learn how to play an instrument in less than a week for a sketch)

@@diligentsun1154 Former violin player here. No, she is not really playing the violin. She was holding the bow incorrectly and incorrectly playing across the fingerboard earlier. The other violinist in front of Kate McKinnon was incorrectly bowing in between the bridge and the tailpiece. Only Penderecki's _Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima_ has those non-conventional playing instructions.
I love how much everyone was breaking in all the Lizzo sketches, you can tell they had fun with these

The first harpist I ever met was also a Horse Girl, and the second was also a lady with long frizzy sandy hair that got super into her playing. It’s definitely a specific vibe and Kate tapped into it well.

I smiled when she mentioned how they are the symphony orchestra, and they make music together. That really shows how connected everyone in the ensemble needs to be to pull off a performance. Great video!

@@kristintripp967 Even so, the strings were way too loud for the amount in the orchestra. And everyone was tuning, but you only heard the strings when the woodwinds/brass sounds would overpower.

@@janed4727 I was not criticizing their inaccuracies, I was just poking fun at them. I know that they would often get things wrong because they're just comedians, but doesn't mean I can't point them out and laugh at them.
I just found the amount of string instruments to the sound playing kind of funny.
The violin playing made me cringe a little as a violinist myself, but this is all in good fun so what can I do 😂
