Personally I think the FPW games on GBA completely blow the WWE trilogy out of the water. They each had a 100+ wrestlers, hundreds of moves, and a fully featured create a wrestler that allowed me to update the games with dozens more.
That GM Mode idea is brilliant. I’ve never really thought about that but it’s really smart, I almost never play matches in GM Mode anyways. They wouldn’t have to do much sprite work aside from the renders for the roster, selection options, matches and arenas. And they’d be able to include literally every single active roster member very easily with no crunch time eliminating characters like Maven from SvR’06 or Jeff Hardy from HCTP. That would be a really sweet game and now I’m disappointed it never happened 💀
Must say, your voice reminds me a lot of Wrestling Bios, plus your styles aren't too dissimilar. Definitely didn't stop me from enjoying, of course, it was a good video. I believe Road to WrestleMania controls similarly to the Fire Pro Wrestling games, because I never had that much issue after I started timing my D-pad directions after the tie-up. Regardless, that game is my personal favourite, because it was the first wrestling game I played (alongside SVR 2006 on PSP, a pretty fun port) and you could make your own pay-per-views, which I used to basically book my own WWF using Microsoft Excel lol
How I rate these games: #1: Road to WMX8: It’s hands down the best out of the trilogy. #2: Road to WM: I don’t like the grapple system, but I like the way the game looks and the roster. I can only win by doing clotheslines no joke, I can do the occasional move here and there though. #3: Survivor Series: It’s not great, it’s just a copy & paste from Road to WMX8, it however isn’t bad though but I just prefer X8. I own the cartridges for all 3 of these in my GBA collection as a part of my huge sea of wrestling games. I’m a huge wrestling game collector. I liked & favored this video, I really enjoy your content bro it’s top notch.

I played the Survivor series game a couple of years ago and it was all right. I just thought it was so on having a wwe game on a handleheld. I recommend to anyone that wants a good handheld wrestling game to play wwe svr 2010 on the ds because I loved that game.

@@rozzmin it's all a blur for me now if I'm honest, just buzzing to get back to playing good wwf games now 😂 sorry if you've seen it already but I covered betrayal in a previous video where I looked at the WWF games for the game boy color, was a weird one from what I can remember
I went to GameStop when I was a kid youngster and I had my gameboy on me and had a game my buddy gave me think it was nascar but anyway I seen this game on the self with the plastic still on it so I grabbed it went around the corner switched the games put mine in the wwe box and put the wwe game in my gameboy and walked out like nothing happened,
@@the16bitprick36 I actually checked out a number of videos after I left this comment. Like the wwf Gameboy color games, but there were more non wrestling games that I never heard of that were great watches too. I love the channel man I plan on watching everything within the next few days.
God those GBA were terrible but I loved them lol I was 6 or 7 begged my mom to tell Santa for a GBA and Road to Wrestlemania 17. Never had a game boy but I really wanted one. About a week before Christmas I seen 2 small boxes under the tree I was excited cause I felt like it could be it. Christmas morning I ran to those boxes and sure enough it was them, I turn to my mom choked up thanking her. She said “it wasn’t me , it was santa.” I said with tears in my eyes “forget Santa this was you!” Best Christmas gift ever.
Played all 3 of these. I put way too much time in all 3 as a kid/teen lol. The control mechanics were easy for me. I think I liked wwf road to wrestlemania the most. I loved the career mode and having all the belts, the tag team moves with your partner, and the crowd interactions(the better the match, the more they cheer or react from slow to fast) wrestlemania 18 would be my favorite if they just added stone cold and scott hall to the roster
Wrestlemania 18 was pretty cool and clean with the mechanics, the challenge mode and effects on wrestler popularity by showing who's merch sells more, as well unlocking more wrestlers merch as they won more titles and tournaments/rumble. Would be cool if you did the nds wwe svr games too 🤞🏾🤞🏾
Hate the divas kept not getting put In the handheld games. They weren't even in the gameboy Color games. They could have least added one . Probably Nintendo censorship.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607 I doubt it was full on censorship. The women's division was booked like shit at the time. It was treated as a side show to the men. Didn't matter how talented you were, you'd get maybe 5 minutes for your match on TV, and maybe you'd be asked to preform a strip tease, or be the on screen girlfriend for one of the men.
Also, the reason for the grapple break shit is cause they expected you to soften up your opponents before you do stronger moves.. Yeah, it sucks but that's pretty much what they expected you to do..
Now those are games that have been on my radar for a while now. Someone put me on to them in the comments section of my video on wwf games on the Amiga, sounds like a great concept
My theory around SD:Just Bring It and the Road to Wrestlemania game, is that either the purchase of WCW and ECW happened to close to the games development cycle, or, WWE games were going to follow the original plans WWE had for the brand split way back in 01 by running either raw or SD as a WCW branded show. Those plans fell through when all the big name WCW contracts didn't come with the purchase
Although I had it on GameCube and GBA SP, was it not WrestleMania X8 where you could fight outside on things like cranes? This has bugged me for ages trying to remember which game it was.

One of them things you think about and think "what where they thinking?" I appreciate that they kept it to the theme of the time, even at the time it was horrendous though
I blame Nintendo censorship why The wemen got left out the games. No Trish,no lita, not even Stephanie McMahon or Tori Wilson. Come on Nintendo didn't want a Kid playing to see breasts?
I played these but not much to them so I Just assumed all wrestling games on GBA were terrible I highly recommend the Fire Pro Wrestling 2 game specifically the Japanese version translation as It features a promoter mode on GBA on the topic of survivor series, that game was 2004 and Just a year later we got SVR06 for PSP which Is a huge leap
An easy assumption to make to be fair. Fire pro wrestling is definitely a series that's been on my radar for some amount of years now, think I'm gonna clear up all the wwf/e games first that I have somewhat of an attachment too then try either fire pro series or wcw games.
Even servivor series was created after wrestlemania 18 it graphics are much better than survivor series game i was Lucky of having this worderful game road to wrestlemania 18 i still ownning in my hands.
I played WWF Road to WrestleMania a ridiculous amount, even with the roster being at least three years out of date at the time. It sucked but it's how I feel in love with certain characters.

Cool!!! 🙂 and I agree as well. I felt like road to wrestlemania X8 was pretty good, the most well made if I have to be honest *even if yes the entrances are a huge downgrade from the previous game* as for survivor series, I'll save you the trouble as I actually did beat it, it's tedious because you do get ranked upon the performances of every match you do, they're required to continue on with the season mode, if you fail to reach per say, a B rank before you get to the title, you'll have to play more matches until you reach said rank and title, the worse however was in tag matches where you're forced to let your partner in the ring *computer controlled mind you* where you're there to watch it more often get whipped by your opponents, and also extra points for road to wrestlemania X8 because at least it did have unlockables *even if it's meaningless to get everything in the shopzone because it's all pixelated* I would say these are better than the good chunk of wwf games on the game boy and the color as well *attitude on game boy color can burn btw 😣*
See that was the problem, I hardly used the same moves, done top rope moves used finishers etc and still bischoff was giving me a hard time, just not worth my while. Hard to go back to it now that I'm playing wrestlemania 2000 on the n64 which will be my next video. But yeah your spot on, I enjoyed playing these more than I did on the og game boy and game boy color.
@@the16bitprick36 thank you so much for your response back 🙂 and yeah, no matter what you do, whether if it's the same moves, not letting your tag partner get into the action, winning and even using weapons, you'll get criticized harshly *one way to somewhat pass is to literally make the match longer, but I see it more as padding,* I'll honestly take the championship mode from road to wrestlemania X8 anyday, *and if you're curious, wwf road to wrestlemania does have passwords, but it would not always guarantee the same results you had previously, like I won a tag team match as Chris Jericho with benoit as my partner, when I replayed and put the password, somehow the game made it seem that kane was always my partner*
@@razorchance6976 no worries at all mate, I try to get back to everyone that comments, the least I can do for the people who watch my videos. Yeah that is exactly padding it out to make it seem longer which really is just wasting people real life time 😂 that's bizarre about the whole tag team situation though, although you did remind me of benoit and jericho tag team finisher, do you remember it was like a crossface along with the walls of jericho? Looked painful 😂
@@the16bitprick36 oh hell yeah!!!! 😆😎 *I promise I did not do a stone cold Steve Austin moment there* it was epic, lol, anywho, good luck on your next video, I never played much of wrestlemania 2000, but I did play no mercy *the following game* thanks to a childhood friend who had them on N64 whereas I grew up with smackdown 1 and 2 on ps1 🙂 I wish you the best and also a hell yeah!!!!!

@@the16bitprick36 I'm not sure on what the game bases it's criteria, though. I remember successfully making it all the way to WrestleMania, only to then fail a certain threshold of attendance figures, that would have been necessary to beat the mode.

If its a crap game yeah haha. To be honest when i was younger as much as i loved gaming i equally enjoyed playing football so if i wasnt out doing that then id be gaming. Now a days at an older age i need to consider other people like my partner, family, friends etc. I do love gaming but lives too short to be keeping yourself inside when you can be out exploring the wonders of the world
I felt bad about it in my early 20s, when there was a lot of pressure to be cool, get laid and be successful. As I got older I realized that most societal pressure is nonsense and you're going to die in less than 50 years anyway. Life is too short to worry. Obviously if you have kids and other special responsibilities you need to take care of that at some point, but as a general rule you should never feel guilty about doing something you love. @@rozzmin it's all a blur for me now if I'm honest, just buzzing to get back to playing good wwf games now 😂 sorry if you've seen it already but I covered betrayal in a previous video where I looked at the WWF games for the game boy color, was a weird one from what I can remember
@@the16bitprick36 I'm a new subscriber (actually because of this video) so I'm there! 😁
I have all 3 of these emulated on my tablet and they are pretty great
I went to GameStop when I was a kid youngster and I had my gameboy on me and had a game my buddy gave me think it was nascar but anyway I seen this game on the self with the plastic still on it so I grabbed it went around the corner switched the games put mine in the wwe box and put the wwe game in my gameboy and walked out like nothing happened,
😂 thats punk AF!!!!
Subd for this vid. Love the rarely discussed wrestling content
Thanks very much, if you like leser known wwf games I covered the ones on the Amiga, first game on that definitely threw me off guard for sure 😂
Would be cool if you did the nds wwe svr games too 🤞🏾🤞🏾
Kane and Kurt angle look sick lol
Jesus the Eddie theme lmao

The women's division was booked like shit at the time. It was treated as a side show to the men. Didn't matter how talented you were, you'd get maybe 5 minutes for your match on TV, and maybe you'd be asked to preform a strip tease, or be the on screen girlfriend for one of the men.
Yeah. Kanes music did sound bad in road to wrestlmania 18 but I actually like how slowed down it is. Sounds a little more “metal”
Too slow for me, my metals gotta be fast and heavy!!
Also, the reason for the grapple break shit is cause they expected you to soften up your opponents before you do stronger moves.. Yeah, it sucks but that's pretty much what they expected you to do..
Great work pal!
Thanks very much, you've got a great channel yourself. Wrestling and old school thrash metal, can't beat it 👌
I would have loved a GM mode game kinda like EWR or TEW for the GBA!!!
Now those are games that have been on my radar for a while now. Someone put me on to them in the comments section of my video on wwf games on the Amiga, sounds like a great concept
Thank you ! Mania X8 could have been so much better
No problem, im actually excited to play the Game Cube version again for the channel. Been a long time since i last played it.
Where the Brock Lesnar theme came from ???
Got it off some website a while ago, I'll try and find it for you and link it to you somehow
I didn't even know these games existed on GBA when I was a kid.
Great content dude.
Appreciate it man!! Next up is wrestlemania 2000 for n64
Kane's theme at 10:24 was definitely better than the last game's that sounded like holding in a fart before the music drop, no?
A bubbly one 😂
Although I had it on GameCube and GBA SP, was it not WrestleMania X8 where you could fight outside on things like cranes? This has bugged me for ages trying to remember which game it was.
I'm sure that was wrestlemania 19 wasn't it?

Anyone remember the Spectrum version of WWF Wrestlemania? That game was literally UNPLAYABLE!
It's tempted for the laughs alone, maybe one day, maybe 😂
I liked WWF road to WrestleMania on GBA. They had finishers and it was similar to WWF Royal Rumble for super Nintendo but with more wrestlers.
5:41 To be fair, X-Pac had that horrible Uncle Kracker theme at the time. To this day I still think they should've went with his old theme, even if it would've been outdated. Or even use the DX theme.
One of them things you think about and think "what where they thinking?" I appreciate that they kept it to the theme of the time, even at the time it was horrendous though
I blame Nintendo censorship why
The wemen got left out the games.
No Trish,no lita, not even Stephanie
McMahon or Tori Wilson.
Come on Nintendo didn't want a
Kid playing to see breasts?
Regals theme sounds like a song from Pokémon
I played these but not much to them so I Just assumed all wrestling games on GBA were terrible
I highly recommend the Fire Pro Wrestling 2 game specifically the Japanese version translation as It features a promoter mode on GBA
on the topic of survivor series, that game was 2004 and Just a year later we got SVR06 for PSP which Is a huge leap
An easy assumption to make to be fair.
Fire pro wrestling is definitely a series that's been on my radar for some amount of years now, think I'm gonna clear up all the wwf/e games first that I have somewhat of an attachment too then try either fire pro series or wcw games.
06? 06 didnt exist for psp, the first one was 07

I wish Natsume could have done more especially on the GBA
You should have mentioned WrestleMania X8's PPV-mode, where the game rates the quality of your match-cards.
I didn't even consider giving it a bash because I assumed it was like you pick all the matches then play through them all, didn't even consider the fact you'd get a rating system along with it. That does sound pretty cool if I'm honest
@@the16bitprick36 I'm not sure on what the game bases it's criteria, though.
I remember successfully making it all the way to WrestleMania, only to then fail a certain threshold of attendance figures, that would have been necessary to beat the mode.
I never knew Rey and undertaker were the same height 😆

Do you ever feel guilty of wasting time when playing video games for long periods of time, compared to when you were a child?
It's not rational.
It's even more difficult on emulators man lol
