Growing up,I didn't know who U2 was when,but when I heard that the lead singer of this band by the name of Bono starred in one of my favorite film of all time,Sing 2,my mind just sparked!Now that I'm 21 years old,I listen to the music of U2 & I immediately became a fan!
U2 is one of the VERY FEW bands that played the ALT ROCK takeover of the 90s right. Dropping the R&B and blues of rattle and hum and going deep on ALT ROCK made U2 one of my favorite bands. Love a band brave enough to give a big change to there sound and basicly giving fans the option to either come along for the ride or piss off.
The vision that was Zoo TV--and performances like this--feel more relevant, even prophetic than ever. The shows at the Sphere seem to mark a moment in time of technology finally catching up to artistic vision! I so wish I could be there!
They were so cool. The record store guy told me to buy "Boy" when it came out. Heh... only kids of a certain age will even know what a "record store" was! lol!

@@jmason61 Yeah I think they said some sort of surgery. The thing that sucks about it is they’ve had 1,867 concerts in their career. For 1,866 of those shows, it’s been Larry, Adam, Bono, and Edge. The only show they ever missed was Adam back in the early 90’s because he was deathly sick. That’s a pretty remarkable streak when you think about it. Especially in the music business where it’s not exactly a hotbed of mental health😂

They just proved this song can still be powerful after 32 years. Some of the truisms that flash by could be updated a bit more, but "The Fly" still is a sensory overload but punch. That's a good thing.

Zoo TV tour Birmingham NEC queued all night for tickets massive footy kick about in the car park about 4 am best gig I've ever seen the Sphere looks awesome but unfortunatley out of my budget
I'm still wondering how this is going to go down because they can't be performing that much over the next couple months. Plus Ticketmaster had tickets from 2023 all the way up to 2025 and I know they're not performing for 3 years straight in Vegas every single night. I want to go there this year and see them but if it's just a pre-recorded video show I really don't want to do that. The map for Ticketmaster says screen instead of stage so I'm still wondering are they going to just record one show and then just re-record it and charge people $1,000 to see it or what. Inquiring minds want to know
I think you’re confused. They’re doing 25 shows between September through December. 3 shows a week. And that’s it. That’s the end of the shows at the sphere. Any other tickets for sphere shows on Ticketmaster are for non concert experiences that the venue is doing

Presumably this is just the same graphics overlaid that they’ve always used live for this song and we just weren’t used to the fast cutting of modern content back then (cos certainly the word was still HIGHLY controversial even back in the 80s & 90s) but its continued inclusion now is either unforgivably lazy on the part of the editor (a definite sackable/fine-able offence) or else the band were consulted & approved its inclusion. It’s up there more than once as well. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Absolutely unforgivable. Presumably this is just the same graphics overlaid that they’ve always used live for this song and we just weren’t used to the fast cutting of modern content back then (cos certainly the word was still HIGHLY controversial even back in the 80s & 90s) but its continued inclusion now is either unforgivably lazy on the part of the editor (a definite sackable/fine-able offence) or else the band were consulted & approved its inclusion. Either way, if this is the legit promo for the band opening at the Sphere (which it’s clearly not) & this controversy blows up, the management would 1000% have no choice but to pull the shows. I would say the decision to include that word on MULTIPLE occasions in this video in 2023 is, at best, moronically tone deaf &, at worst, well… racist honestly.
