Great vid and explanations. I agree with both your pen decisions and rationale behind them. From a procedural point of view, had that been the 89th minute at 0-0 and you deal with it on the goal line, surrounded by irate defenders, I would feel vulnerable with no immediate escape route. Given your excellent positioning, I think I would have walked calmly towards the offender and then take a left out of the goal towards the corner flag inviting the offender over and possibly his captain. In that way, with your back to the crowd on the by-line, you can still see the whole of the pitch but don't have the net blocking an exit! Keep them coming good luck over the weekend.
Nice Vlog and topics....1st clip of Non-PK call appears correct. Would add the red player was considerably larger in stature whilst green player was moving with speed thus less stable and likely to fall as he did....As for PK & red all great....Process would recommend slower PK signal which seemed fast and rushed b/c you looked to quickly get to offender to pull red card out...Most spectators would have missed the PK call if not at right ankle as the camera person was luckily! Great job!
Really like your analysis after you give the penalty here with regards to your positioning before and after you give it. It didn't backfire too much, but walking in to the middle of it all could have put you in a situation where you're being surrounded. As it happened, both teams were pretty controlled and it worked out fine. I tend to prefer to isolate the player out wide...even when there is no sanction involved I like to direct traffic out first, because PKs are flash points where tensions can rise up, and we need to have a clear field of vision. When was this game played? Under the revised laws it is important to emphasize that in this situation we need to now work out whether we are calling this a deliberate or non-deliberate handball, as unnaturally bigger can be downgraded with the awarding of a PK.
It’s hard to tell with poor footage from the main camera, but not sure it’s deliberate? You don’t slide across the ground with your arms tucked in by your side. Defo pen but I would be leaning more towards yellow than red. What did the assessor say?
You state plainly that a handball that denies a goal is DOGSO and red, whereas a handball where the ball still goes in is a yellow. However, the new Laws for this year state that a deliberate handball that denies a goal is a red, but a non-deliberate handball in the box that denies a goal is now a yellow and a penalty kick. Of course in your video I still think the handball was a red as there was movement towards the ball, but the Laws are no longer clearly "if it goes in then yellow, if it doesn't then red".

Great advice for the KO Jon, yes no penalty….the footage wasn’t clear for the DOGSO…..but the players reaction says a lot and he knows what he’s done.

Hello. I'm referee football. I live in Côte d'Ivoire ( West Africa).
