  • here is a longer timelapse of me running the dowel inserter. fully set up with scanning technology. you can see the wide variety of part size I put through the machine. no measuring. no retyping. no errors

    Hello! I hope this finds you well..I'm a custom cabinetmaker out of New Jersey. Our shop just purchased the same machine a few months ago, and hoping you can lend some advice.. As you know, the 4 clamps are adjusted up/down accordingly based on the thickness of the board one is working with. How much space do you leave between the board and the bottom of the clamp before getting ready to dowel? We were informed by one tech to leave a margin of a "dime's" thickness, but have found that a 1/4" margin works better? The problem is, using a "dime's" thickness, the clamps periodically "jump" up. Or, fall out of placement in the white plastic "teethed" up/down adjuster, and have to be constantly re-adjusted. Have you ever encountered this problem before? We were also informed, that of course, this teethed plastic piece will wear over time/have to be replaced,....but not this soon/a few months? Hoping you can help... Thanks, Best, Tommy...

      the problem with the clamps on the D200 is the height adjustment knob is the same for sideways adjustment.
      so I find that if you leave the knob loose then when the clamp is activated the ribbed part will end up sliding past each other. so we keep the height set as low as possible for parts and also try to limit the amount of times we move the clamps sideways, and always make sure we tighten down

    Hi, First off, thanks for making and sharing these videos. I have a question about the very last part you drilled and dowelled. The part is longer than working field, so you worked against the left fence then moved the part to the right fence to do the rest of the hole. I am familiar with WoodWOP but don't know how to program in two section on the same side. Care to share how this was done?

      what we do, is have a separate barcode for "half" the dowel layout per side, when the part is over the working size
      this piece cannot be scanned in because of the size but manually changing the size of the half program works great

    Is the scanner a Homag one or another company and what does that track?

    • @diamondcnc

      It is just a cheap scanner. since we are not tracking the parts and just reading the barcode for dowel location any basic reader scanner will work

      What program produces the barcodes? We run mozaik but barcodes are not supported, would love to use that feature.

      @@euroworks394 we use cutrite. and each machine that needs scanning capabilities uses woodscan. all machines and computers are hooked to a server to share all label information

    I've yet to see the dowel machine jam up. I use a Koch machine and wish it was consistent as this. The Koch machine is great other than a hick cup every now and then.

    What CNC software do you use?

    • @diamondcnc
      @diamondcnc  3 года назад +1

      We use the native homag software
      Woodwop and cutrite
