I am going to build my eagle without motor but with a more realistic front section for slope soaring in the Austrian mountains. Must be fun to meet the local crows (extremely agile birds) ! In addition I will add a small loudspeaker (mounted in the fuselage) with pre-recorded eagle sounds. Did that with a RC raven and it worked pretty well.
Thanks for posting these build videos on the eagle. I like how you edit them down so it only shows the useful parts of the video. I’m thinking of building this plane but I’ve only ever built the easy to build eflite planes. I’m going to buy the eagle v2 PNP version, but I noticed you also use extra parts not included with the PNP kit. By chance do you have a list of the extras I’d need to buy? So far I’m noticing I’ll need a small carbon fibre rod, balsa wood and popsicle sticks.
Thanks so much Dave for the video! Great ideas on the reinforcing of frame of the eagle and adding the battery tray. Was interesting and informative video.
Really enjoying this build as it's all improving my confidence when I get to build my own bird which is waiting patiently still in it's box, regards, Alan, UK
Hello, I am building my "eagle". Thank you for your video which helps me since I do not have a manual. Can you give me the angle of the "V" tail. Thank you for your help
I will be putting the maiden flight video up on the 18th and give more observations but for now let me say it is easy to fly and easy on the battery. Two flights and I still had 70% on a 2200 3s. Guess I should put the voltage telemetry on it like you have on your planes.
Dave, very informative and helpful session. Any suggestions to setup for bird suppression use in a vineyard? Im an RC novice, so I would suspect a long batt life and programmed to fly into a net for batt replacement. Any suggestions re equipment, modules, sources? Thanks in advance! - Note: feel free to watch my documentary film www.alaskalonghunters.com free. - Mark
Hi Dave Greetings from Australia great vids thx mate , I have 2 epp eagles from dancing wings ,I agree with you not only does 120 degree vtail look better elevator authority is improved two fold .I would like some fabri tac not available down under unless I pay $130 us for shipping any suggestions would be welcome .Regards Tim Smith
Fabric Tac is similar to Foam Tac and both are from Beacon. I get the Fabric Tac at Wal-Mart in the fabric/hobby section. You can also use other shoe glues like E6000 or Welder. If you have a fabric store nearby you could check there.
I like the Nose Reiniforcement and Battery Tray idea... Thanks.
I did those mods on the mini eagle and they worked well enough that I did the same on the eagle V2. Get any snow up thar?

That was an interesting building process. The bevel for aligning the tail was a good idea. Thank you for the video.
I'm thinking that bevel was a good Christmas gift.

Alan, May your bird be free from it's box soon. It's a pleasure to help inspire your confidence!
Thanks Dave! Another useful idea in your video. Great
George, thanks for commenting and I'm happy you found something useful in the build..

120 degrees. It's at the end of the video.
A birdie, if you'll forgive me, told me that you flew this thing twice today what's your observations?
