I don't clean up many of the crystals other than soap and water; many folks have asked, so I'll do a video on this someday and show off some of the finds. Thanks for the recommendation.
Amazing vid, I love the music! I recently moved to the Colorado Springs area, and I love rockhounding. Do you have any suggestions on finding quartz in the area? I’ve found many agates, chert, and some jasper down in Texas, but I’ve never been lucky enough to find beautiful quartz points like that!
I found the best way to get started is to join a club. There are several clubs in your area; I currently lead all the field trips for the Lake George Gem & Mineral Club, however registration for 2021 is closed; its a big club so you can only register January - March of each year. Other local clubs should still be offering registration year round.
I live on the boarder of park and summit county, any chance we could link up some time? Kind of been poking around, summit has lots of geods but I've always wanted to actually dig for bigger stuff
I haven't gotten out much this summer due to other priorities. I highly recommend joining a local crystal club! I lead the field trips for the Lake George Gem & Mineral Club.
As a Druid, there is little to nothing they should leave. Quarts in the hand is a direct connection between one's physical self, spiritual self, and the Earth. The greatest gift they gave too was the moving of soil, allowing the nutrient rich deep soil to mix with a dead leaf filled sandy top soil to make something more suitable for young plants. Ants do not leave offerings to the sand they move and humans are no different to an ant.
Watching this in a loud room, so not sure if you mentioned where your at. Presumably in Colorado? I'm from wa state and there's a few locations I dig at to get really nice clear quartz with chlorite and hematite inclusions. But typically the crystals stay under 5 inches long. Beautiful quality just not big
The flat sides show that the conditions were perfect for the quartz to form in its most perfect form; definitely super rare to find in this form compared to the amount of quartz on this planet!
Check out my blog at davealex.com on How to Find Crystals for details to your question. In short, a lot of luck and knowing general locations where crystals can be found.
Can you show what they look like after washing them up? And what do you do after finding? Do you sell them to a certain buyer etc?

Wood chopsticks. Best quartz digging tool you'll ever need.
Sometimes I forget them; but there are always dead branches nearby!
Where are you digging at. Which area? I went crystal digging in Payton yesterday but didn’t dig deep. Found some smal thumb size fragments
I am loving your music!
Cheers, thank you very much!

If you’re spiritual I really hope you left an offering to mother nature
I would assume quartz can be found all over the country. I know some of the best fluorites, for example, come from the mid west.

Ah my favorite crystals
I’d be more interested knowing what State this is, I notice we seem to evade that question…. I’m going to look for videos made in my State…
I find these everywhere where I live, they usually don’t have big flat sides tho

4:34 thats a almost perfectpiece but, i wanna know if theres a sign that tell's us if theres crystal in the soil or not.
that's the hard part, finding crystals takes knowledge of geology, skill in prospecting, patience and moving a lot of dirt/rock. oh, and luck.
How did you find that pocket did you go in a random wood in your area and start digging? How did you know where to look?
