Hey everybody! I know it's a huge question and I've already lost subscribers over it, but yeah my teeth are gone due to a bone deficiency. I was breaking teeth very easily and for years the broken teeth remained un-pulled constantly hurting and eventually cased me to be poisoned, after the point where I only had my two front teeth left that's when I had them all pulled and took a break from RUclips I will most likely get false teeth but for now my gums are still healing and I'm learning how to talk and eat all over again, multiple videos were recorded in my time off however hearing my own voice on recordings would really upset me, and still does. I get excited and sound like Sylvester the cat ;)
Hey, you still sound like _you_. Fifteen years on this website and you're still rocking on! (oh my god, I've been watching this stuff for over half my life now, shit I'm nearly 30!)
Hey man as someone who is blind and had to get my eye removed I used to be afraid of what others would think seeing you videos is an inspiration to keep going and not only that but you have taught me a thing or two as well I even have my own PA system keep up the amazing videos you do a great job !!!
Hey man dont let that shit get to you. I am dealing with mouth issues to. so yeah fuck it :P just do you man! keep up the good content. Maybe some more mountains of speakers on fire
Hey Garrett, thanks for explaining things. You don't really owe us an explanation, but I understand it's necessary when people start coming to their own conclusions. I hope you are well and I'm looking forward to more speaker destruction.
I'll never stop watching you, Garrett. You keep kicking ass man! You really hold a special place in my heart ever since I've started watching you in 2014!
Glad to see ya back man!! Speaker stress testing and destruction is SUCH a niche thing there are very few youtubers who do this stuff and your definitely on top of it! As somebody who had a whole collection (More of a hoarder lol) of audio components and loved to tinker with them endlessly and aqcuire more stuff, but lost everything in the lnu fire, watching your videos is like my fix of crack haha and it was a huge welcome surprise to see an upload!
I would say Garrett's channel is the funniest and the most entertaining to watch with his destruction videos! His more serious videos when he's unboxing high-end items and or reviewing equipment, are well done and frankly relaxing!😌 As more and more people find out about the channel it will explode, keep it up Garrett!
I’ve seen a grand total of 3 different versions of these drivers. The original cubes from this generation had smooth fabric surrounds and paper dust caps. After that, they switched to fabric dust caps. After that, they went back to these paper dust caps and the ripple surrounds. I think there may have also been a 4th version with ripple surrounds with fabric dust caps. Really old ones had metal frames, rubber (I think) surrounds and plastic dust caps.
I own an acoustimass 10 series V system which is connected to a Marantz SR8015. With that model they changed the cheap plastic satelites to full metal built satelite speakers, which is a serius improvement of builtquality. But for the rest I guess they remained the same. Now this setup I only use for movies and videogames and I think they sound really good. Probably because I use them with the bass module they came with, which does that EQ thing they use. Because even in this setup, where you need an external amp, they let the output of the amp go in to the bass module first, before it goes to those satelite speakers. So the module definitly messes with the signal. But for music, I prefer my set up in my study, which exists of two B&W DM580 speakers with a vintage Philips 686 stereo receiver. Never fails to amaze me.
"It makes the booty bass go" best description Ive ever heard 😂 Was a great video with absolutely crap speakers, just as the doctor ordered. My parents had this system when I was a wee lad and didn't know shit about audio except it goes _loud_ and now I realized just how bad they are.
Funnily enough, they don’t even sound horrible with the supplied subwoofers, because they have DSP in the powered ones. It makes them sound clearer in the treble, and the subwoofer also extends higher than usual. They are basically using software to make their cheap hardware sound better. In the passive ones, they just have a super intricate crossover. Kind of an interesting idea, but I prefer when they are actually built well.
@@djijspeakerguy4628 yeah, bose has been like that forever. Either they use very well thought out enclosure designs and horrible drivers or they use both and slap some really good DSP on there.
glad to see u still around! i used to drool over tha whole Bose sound system and i thought they was really great quality but yea not so much when u don't have their OEM Amps they was intended for 😢
I just found your channel yesterday and really enjoy the videos:) I’m big into music, electronics and speakers and your comments about the speakers being cheap isn’t a lie, Bose spends a ton on marketing their cheap products. You can get equivalent size and much bigger/better sound for less. I did notice you looked a little different and saw your sticky comment. I hate you lost subscribers because of the problem you had! Ridiculous how people treat others when they have something go wrong and hope you get better and wish you all the best!! Looking forward to new and old videos😊
I just found your channel tonight. I'm binge watching your videos. Don't stop being you. I know what it is like with no teeth, it's socially very hard but just wait until you get dentures, you won't be able to stop smiling at yourself in the mirror. You are far braver then I am. Respect to you! Thanks mate.
We're glad you're back Garrett and yes bose destruction I used to have that exact same acoustimas system it was pretty good for a small area but the bigger the room the crappier it sounded but besides that we're glad you're back and we hope to see more videos from you
Bose's magic has mostly been in their "magic" EQ box/controller. I believe it has a dynamic eq based on the volume to make low volume bass stronger in smaller speakers but allow for louder volumes by decreasing the bass as volume/signal climbs. They sometimes do a little extra magic with chambers or speakers with a larger excursion range, but generally the speakers individually are nothing exciting or of a higher build quality. By staying with small speakers, they can, however, sort of produce a cleaner sound as they don't have the mass of a large woofer to keep in control, but they usually go for quantity of small speakers in larger PA boxes to make up for the lack of driver size. Does it make a difference? Meh.... maybe to the trained ear, but you pay a lot usually for the name itself, which sometimes cancels out the difference.
I've been on here since YT was a separate company and remember seeing your antics back in the days, glad to see ya still around. And you confirmed why I hate these things, they never sounded good.
Hi Garret i'm so glad to see you after all this time! It's been 7 months ago that your last video was downloaded on RUclips! Ps: Even if you got your teeth replaced by fake teeth, i still like you and your videos, i watch your videos since 2010 or 2011 maybe, i hope you're doing fine.
They sound pretty good you absolutely need their subwoofer all the dsp and cross overs are build in the subwoofer and it does a good job making shitty speakers sound good
I was curious when this video was about to come out I knew it took a while but when I first saw it on Instagram I was excited bose are fun to play with. 😜😄
Glad your doing well! Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of the cubes. I personally like their pro audio (their passive PA speakers to be exact) and their older home audio. Like the 101s, the acustimass 321 series ii, VS100, and their environmental 151s. Granted the 101s, VS100s, and the 151s all use the same cabinet but with different drivers and covers. I have 2 VS100s I got off eBay and put one in my new home theater system. I really like the way they sound! Very clear full and crisp sound. Im only using one and its the center channel. But yeah I agree. The cubes are a neat idea but not their best speakers.
Was thinking the same! Mk1 802’s have the foam surround drivers and the mk2’s and 3’s have ribbed card type edging. They take some power so would be interesting to kill haha
Hope you are ok garret. I can tell somethings been off with you for while in the videos. Miss the old days in the shed 🥲 Thanks for the entertainment 👍
Any content you produce is always bound to be great 👍. I'm sorry about your teeth man, but at the same time, I'm very happy you won't have you deal with the pain anymore! Ik it's very different, but I've had to get about 7 root canals now. I try to take really good care of my teeth, but, the nerves just keep acting up. Anyways, hope you have a good day 🤙
what's that remote you use? It looks really cool. I'm glad you're back I've been watching your videos for a long time. It actually helped fuel my love for audio and technology.
although I don't understand what you're talking about, even so it doesn't bother me to listen to you king, it's even more glad that you're making content again, a hug from Argentina
To open these, I first have to gently pry all 4 sides to get the side of the cabinet to come off the driver. Next, it’s basically a 10 minute process of digging into the corners of them trying not to break it. I was able to get all of mine open without breaking them. Best thing, they just snap back together, no need to glue! From memory, I did scratch myself once. You’re not wrong, it’s difficult.
My first couple pairs of speakers were 201s and 301s. If you used them within their limits they were great. I mean their niche was a big sound out of a small package that required little power to do so. But ya for the money you can do better if you're not totally caught up on out of sight or small foot print speakers.
My first speakers were legit 201s (mightve been 301 i cant remember) I blew them after like a year on just a basic ass 90s kenwood stereo. I like my music loud and have since destroyed my hearing🤡 my entire setup is now Sony apart from my eq.
