It's not really a cliffhanger, it's more of a horror movie trope, ending it with the bad guy still alive and making one last scare/kill or confirmation that the killer is still alive. The thing I don't get is the old lady is here too (iirc) but she clearly died in the first one, the main guy gets possessed and presumably kills his wife, but they're all here like nothing happened.
The first insidious scared the crap out of me three years ago when it came out and I haven't gone back to it ever since. This one from what I've seen doesn't look as scary as the first movie. Yet anyway, will have to see when this comes out.

i actually did like the Conjuring but I didnt like how it only relied on jump scares to scare people but i still dont like the direction in which horror movies are heading. i dont want to live in a world where Insidious, Sinister and Paranormal Activity are considered good horror movies
And I really hope the man with fire on his face is in this one as well but not as much. The trailer shows a man saying 'he got your baby, he's got your baby' so hopefully he's taking about fire face
I love James Wan's directing but he already did The Conjuring which is getting impressive reviews and this movie is coming out in the same year...I honestly don't expect much. Better being cautious then hyping it too much.
wasnt scary at all in my opinion but that may just be me i am a scary movie connoisseur my dad showed me Halloween, Fright Night and Lost Boys when i was five and i became obsessed so no movie really scares me anymore
The First movie was good, but went from horror to comedy towards the part where these two guys came in (my light's bigger than yours). So I don't think this will be much different in terms of a horror/small comedy thing.
How is it an "unneeded sequel"? If the first movie was successful (which it was) why not try and make a second to continue the success? That's how movies work.

Just because it was 20 seconds, doesn't mean you can't judge it. But you have to be incredibly ignorant or blind to not tell the characteristics of such. The acting is ludicrous, and just downright bad for this type of film. (The second-pause whilst looking at your friend, the slow, over-dramatic double turn, even stale, bad emotions.) It's on the level of something like Scary Movie. Even the sound was over-dramatic & typical, the little girl "scare" is over-done, slow, & laughable, etc.
Only reason I liked #1 was for Darth Mual ya I Said it ! And certain elements of the story, everything else was bad especially acting! Ugh .. Not looking forward to this one just like the first one though I'll see it just see wat it's worth or if it's worth anything !
