In terms of other recommendations for knizia auctions. His recent Reif für die Insel is a short bag drawer that combines a lot of the features of his best (including High Society)
I prefer Medici to Ra. Medici is less prone to the random win than Ra is (based on many plays of the first edition, that happens around 1 time in 3). I think Medici is the best perceived-value auction game around. Nearly all the real game is playing the perceptions of the other players: convincing a player to play one more card, or bid a few points too high, or setting yourself up for a free load, or bidding on the last two cards when two players have space remaining. The game is interesting for almost the same reasons that poker is interesting.

I love Medici! It's one of my favorite Knizia games for sure!
Fun to see you talk about it :D
It's a great game, surprisingly simple and very good at what it's doing
I got the version with art by Vincent Dutrait. It's one of my top ten. Definitely the greatest auction game I've ever heard of.
Thanks for the review! Where do you place zoovadis in this Reiner Kinizia oction games 😀
ZV doesn’t have auctions
I love this game even at 2 players. If you have a partner that is very competitive this is a very good game even at that player count
Amen! Me and my wife love it!

I really liked this one 🎉
Wait...you played it too!!! 😂
3.5/5 here we go again :D
Lol what does that mean :)
Weirdly I love bidding games and love Knizia but this one didn't come together for me.
It's very simple and straightforward, in a way that's both elegant and works... But I can also see not working for everyone
