The monster Ross Dolan. I love the band's music.
Ross Dolan ! he always has the time to their fans every time I bump into him in shows ; he is a real metalhead . I have seen him more in shows than in his concerts , very humble person . Perfect interview .
Thank you! Yeah, Ross is a really down-to-earth guy.
Immolation rules big time
Ross Dolan!!! I meet him three days ago in a gig such a humble guy and brutal performer!
This is a great interview! Very insightful. 👍 Ross seems like a really cool guy: humble and modest. 🤘
Thank you. It just bothers me that there's so much background noise. Glad you could enjoy the intie despite of it. Ross seems very humble modest and friendly indeed. Was great to meet him.
Great interrogation. I saw Immolation the first time with Deicide in 1992 at The Whisky in Hollywood. Ca.
Immolation has always had the most unique structures and chords.
Thanks, Tony! Long history with you and the band then!
Awesome. Always been a fan of Immolation
Cheers!
Yes!!!! I saw Immolation, the best band I saw live, and Ross Dolan, it was a pleasure meeting him
Old schoOl deathmetal...eeeevil! \m/
Awesome interview! Immolation's work ethic and drive is absolutely commendable. _Here In After_ is my favourite Immolation album. Rob has a very unorthodox style of riffing, and it plays such a massive part in creating the band's ominous, dread-inducing atmosphere. It's hard to pick a top 5 favourite list, but, Here In After, Dawn of Possession, Harnessing Ruin, Majesty and Decay, and Close To A World Below, are my go-tos. Atonement is definitely going up there since I've been binging that album for the last few weeks - the production is incredible on Atonement.
Thank you! Yes indeed I think Immolation's style is unique and unorthodox. That's why it divides people. I think it's good to have this unique pioneers in the genre. It's vital.
Excellent interview Rauta. It's really great to see Ross hasn't changed for the Worse over the YRs. (and I still have all my letters/Merch. from those days as well) I remember that Venom show he was talking about in NY - think the Cro - mags played earlier. cheers.
Thanks! Cheers!
Very good interview! I enjoyed watching the video and Immolation are one of my favorite death metal bands 🤘🏻
Thank you, Mazen!
Wow! Nice quality interview Rauta and great questions :) much respect for this. Ross Dolan is a great dude and the guys make killer music. My favorite album is Failures For Gods, and quite possibly one of the best artworks for a Death Metal album cover. I'm glad they're doing well these days.
Thank you! Too bad we got too much this background noise, but glad you could enjoy the intie despite of this noise.
Great interview Jerry! Immolation is one of my Favorite bands: their music is so Great their lyrics are so Powerful!
Ross, Rob and the other guys seem so cool!
I saw them during the last edition of the Fall of Summer in Torcy, near Paris in September 2017. They blew my mind!
I hope to meet them!
Glad to hear you liked the interview as well as the band! I hope you'll meet these gentlemen eventually.
Great interview despite the background shit
Thank you, sir!
Great Interview!
Thank you.
Wow, what a surprise interview! Well done, Jerry, just as always! Can't wait to see Immolation for my first time at Brutal Assault this year! \m/
Btw, last year I actually saw Ross at Brutal Assault from a distance - he went to check out Municipal Waste and crowd started to recognise him (he was doing an exclusive set of interviews last year at Brutal Assault for some sort of "documentary" about metal underground).
Thank you - just sorry for the background noise. Glad to hear you liked the intie anyway. Hope you like their show, too!
Nice spotting :) He's a laid-back guy.
morbid angel, incantation and immolation... probably 3 greatest american death metal bands to ever exist. probably many people will disagree, but i am from that older generation, these guys were absolute classics of the genre.
also i am on Rauta marathon this whole sunday, great way to relax on my only free day for rest during the week. great stuff jerry, keep it up.
Thanks for the comment, Adi! Glad to hear you enjoy the content.
I can agree about Morbid Angel, but I never got into Incantation. I can't even put my finger on it why.
Favorite Band Of Mine, Great Musicians !!!!!!
So down-to-earth guy, love the band, thanks for the interview. Greetings from Moscow!
My pleasure! Was nice to talk with him. And really nice to know Rauta is being followed in Moscow too!
@@RautaMetal Been following Rauta for quite some time now. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, sir!
Ross "You know" Dolan
NUMERO UNO... you know...
He looks like Paul from cannibal corpse
🤘🏿
Good job Jerry
Thanks!
great
This was an enjoyable watch, although I feel questions about the effects of the internet on the music "business" (what a terrible pairing of words) and such tend to be tediously worn out, heh. And I think Ross' view of the metal scene being unique in its appreciation for the physical format is slightly misinformed - but not a surprise that someone who seems to strongly identify as a metalhead would think that. ;-) I can see the physical format being celebrated just as much in e.g. punk, or underground music in general. (The underground is usually where you'll find the people with genuine passion towards music as an artform, and I believe with that passion comes the urge to experience the works of art fully, from the music to the lyrics to the cover art etc.)
Thanks for the compliment and comment. Maybe they are worn out. I think they have still their place. Or maybe they just interest me.
Fair enough, it's understandable that the topic interests someone who is using the internet as the main channel for their music-related activities. ;-) I'm sure there are many others who share your interest in the matter. And bringing it up here did actually lead to some enjoyable conversation, like that story about Ross going to see Venom back in the day.
...and yeah, total respect for Immolation, such an unwavering force in death metal. There are few bands around with such a lengthy and consistent career. A crushing performance at Steelfest as well!
gammasulttaani Aye, good points. Even though YT is for me both a good and new way to talk about music, it's not how I listen to music. For example reviewing physical albums only.
But like you said, even boring questions can lead to interesting comments.
Phlegein paita päällä. Vaikka ei tähän haastatteluun liitykään. Niin perkeleen loistava pädi.
Indeed. One of my Finnish favorites.
