This is a brief review of the Cloud Expo Europe show at ExCeL in London, March 2023.
I attended Cloud Expo Europe at ExCeL in London this year, so I did a short review of the show with my good friend, Paul Bevan (Research Director for Infrastructure at Bloor Research).
We were kindly offered some space by the Rela8 Group, in their Technology Leaders Club lounge, to share our thoughts on the show, some of the themes and interesting/bemusing things that we noticed there.
I wondered why Dark Matter - the producers of the CLOUDED documentary, which takes a dim and outdated view of cloud - were there and why they not only seemed to sponsor a lounge but also seemed to have a stand in the exhibition area!
There wasn't much help there if you wanted to know about GitOps - when I asked a panellist, his response was more-or-less: "Well, if it works for you then you should use it."
Paul, on the other hand, enjoyed a talk about data - he found it informative, engaging but most of all that it "related to business" - that's something I'd get behind, also.
Finally, I connected with some friends and hopefully new guests that will appear on my channel in the future!
