Natalia, this is clearly the best video you have ever made. Great quality of video and wonderful camera work. So easy to see and, as usual, your work is terrific. I love that you have done this long enough to have great rhythm. You are an inspiration to watch!
You know what would really add to your videos?..A picture of the quilt before you start! That would give viewers an idea of the size and proportions. Keep up the amazing work.
That wouldn't be bad but I do believe she does multiple videos on the same quilt and it is not always 100% finished by the time a video comes out. Would you still want to see a progress picture at the beginning? Or only a completed one?
VampireSG the quilt before she starts, before loading it on the long arm, so viewers can get an idea of the size, proportion before she sets up her designs. Also, who makes these dynamic quilts..They are stunning!
Question: do you starch the living daylights out of your top before you start quilting? They always look so flat and flawless. Thanks, as always, for a great video. 💝
I become mesmerized when I watch you quilt! Do the rulers work on a domestic machine? I have a Juki straight stitch, I am pretty sure there is a ruler foot that will fit my machine, would love to try it. Does one of you books address using rulers with domestic machines? Thank you for these videos, it just helps to watch
Thank you! Yes, as long as you have that ruler foot you should be good to go. I do not teach anything about ruler work on a domestic specifically in my books.
Do you draw your quilting plan out on paper or do you just have a plan in your head? Could you give more information on how you decide how to quilt each quilt?
No, I don't always. I do talk a bit about this in my book; Next Steps in Machine Quilting, but also, the more you quilt the more creative you become. :)
I'm in awe, you make it look so easy and effortless, well done!! Thank you again for showing us your amazing work! Dumb question, are there "marks" on your ruler that you're using to line up the piano keys? Also, I'm assuming you've used the So Fine thread? Thanks in advance for sharing!!
Yes, the ruler has marks every 1/4", and they are labeled. I know it's difficult to see the marks in the video, but with those I don't need to do a ton of extra marking. Yes, I'm using the So Fine! thread. :)
So, first quilting without yarn.......I will be doing a queen size quilt for my son. I have a tradition Babyloc model. Should i quilt as i go? Also, if I buy a personal, long arm machine......where you can sit down to and stitch......can you give suggestions?
It would be really nice if you told us why you do some of the stitching you do - like why you went over to the 2nd triangle after you turned the corner, instead of working the first triangle closest to the corner. That would help us newbies....
Oh I didn't mean the quilt police would come! LOL -- I was just trying to learn more through your videos and thought that if you explained how/why you made the decisions you do as you do them, it might help to learn more.
Sultan Er it’s a long arm quilting machine. Several manufacturers make them. They have a very large frame the quilt goes onto, requires a bare room pretty much to go into.
Some hq 16 came with sure foot. I bought mine separately and just replaced standard foot with sure foot. It is round and about a quarter inch thick. I tend to do rulers on left side to avoid hitting needle screw if thick batt. I have done 2 ruler quilts on the 16 so far.
Too much repetition. I got the idea after 3 times. IMO you should do samples, not an entire quilt over and over and over. I did learn a couple of tips but didn't watch whole repeating stitching. Your quilting looks beautiful.
Thanks for your opinion. My channel is based on the quilts that I'm quilting, not just samples, they are real quilts. The way I share videos isn't necessarily everyones favorite, but that's okay, we're all different and that's what's great about this world. Life is way too short for negativity. :)
Natalie-- Apparently I misunderstood. I thought you were sharing quilting tips and examples as a teaching add; hence, my suggestion to use samples vs entire quilts. It appears to me that you are very good using those rulers. That's what I believed you were "teaching. " I apologize for speaking out of line.
Great way to teach. The repetition of the coordinated motion is brilliant. Clicked for my brain anyway. Thank you. Beautiful work.

I do try and share as much as I can over on my blog, after the quilts are completed. :)
I love that about your Blog!!!
I also hope to see more of this quilt...I'll be watching your blog very closely!!! Love your work and your spirit!
I love the quilting you are doing. It's lovely
Thanks for the video. It gave me a couple of ideas on the quilt I am finishing. You do great work! Keep it up
Thanks so much! 🧡🧡🧡
Can watch you create all day!!
Love watching you quilt...but as a newbie to rulers some explanation of what you are doing & technique would be SO helpful. 😊
Really like your videos! You make it look so easy!
Beautiful!
Thank you for your videos. You make it all look possible.
Beautiful quilting.
Thank you!
Wunderschön !! So beautiful, please show more borders !! Thank you, greetings from Germany
Thanks! I just show as I go, so if I'm working on a border then that's what I try to show. :)

Nope, not at all. :)
Thank you,

Where did you get those pins you have in the top of the leader? I'd love to have them, they look big and easy to handle.

Fun! Thank you! ❤️

I'm not totally familiar with all of the brands of machines. I do all of my machine quilting on a Gammill and I absolutely love it. :)
Would you please tell me that when you are doing free motion quilting, do you remove the extended base plate?
I only occasionally take mine off when I'm doing computerized longarm quilting. It's always on during free-motion quilting. :)
Hi Natalia,
Are you shooting your video with your phone?
It would be really nice if you told us why you do some of the stitching you do - like why you went over to the 2nd triangle after you turned the corner, instead of working the first triangle closest to the corner. That would help us newbies....
Honestly there's no rhyme or reason to what I do. It's what feels natural at the moment, remember I don't believe in quilt police. :)
Oh I didn't mean the quilt police would come! LOL -- I was just trying to learn more through your videos and thought that if you explained how/why you made the decisions you do as you do them, it might help to learn more.
Very good.I like it.I buy it machina. What is machina's name? Where I buy machina? I live in Turkey..thank you .

Do I need special foot to use this ruler? I have a HQSweet Sixteen.
You'll need to make sure you're using a ruler foot. I'm not totally sure if that's what comes standard on your machine or not. :)
My HQSweet Sixteen came with a ruler foot that I use with all my ruler work
I have the sit-down model, not the big floor machine, btw

Well done. I would be at a loss as to what to quilt in all of that negative space. You'er good! 8-)
Thank you!
