- Join us on the perfect French mini break in Avignon! Mummy, Hanni & I jump into the car and head south for a last minute trip to Avignon. I need to go there to make a vlog about provencal fabrics, but decide to turn it into a holiday! So I surprise my mother by taking her to La Mirande, a stunningly beautiful hotel which we've always wanted to visit, when she least expects it!

I got my Lady of Lalande letter in the mail today and I am a bit embarrassed to say how excited I was! Thank you for being so personable and sharing your life and work with us. It has brought me a lot of peace and solace during the quarantine to watch you all and imagine I am in the countryside of France instead of outside Washington DC trying to figure out how to teach third-graders virtually!

Yes but I feel mommy and her husband had worked long hours to run the Alzheimer's nursing facility that there wasn't the chance to enjoy any money made. Just my thoughts. Bless her heart. Nice to enjoy a few luxuries even later in lufe

From castle, to another gorgeous castle/hotel, tons of stunning boutiques, lots of girly shopping, beautiful clothes, and arriving home that is a castle with a opera concert in your salon and a little dance party...!!!! That beautiful painting on the equally gorgeous hand painted wallpaper felt like I was looking into a window through time. It has that time travel sort of feel to it..just magical. The moment I saw that wallpaper, I was smitten. Mummy's traveling bag is wonderful, too...may she enjoy it with great health.💞

Maybe Stephanie doesn't see it, but the room in the hotel looked about the same as if they had just driven around the corner and stayed at La Lande!
The prices on the hotel menu were quite reasonable. There are several restaurants near me in Wisconsin that charge similar amounts. But 69€ per kilo for that cheese rather took my breath away. The hotel is enchanting. You should find out who made their wallpapers. The light switches were fascinating to me. (I'm a guy). Electrical devices in America are all pretty much the same; Europeans have some truly artistic designs. Did you tour the Pope's Palace or did you spend all your time eating and shopping? I love your tours. I took French for two years in school and never went. This is delightful for me.
actually, all Quebec cheeses are about 65 to 75 Euro per KG at the local groceries shop, I know it is expensive but it is the price here in Montreal for normal good cheese.
@@acarriere8534 Plus, didn't she say it was truffle cheese? That is always more expensive, and I think when she went shopping with her friend's sister, she bought cheese that was equally expensive. I probably couldn't afford the sample!
I enjoyed your little trip to a beautiful hotel. And I especially loved seeing mommy sleeping in the back seat . Watching from the southern tier of the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York USA
Oh, Catskills have been on my bucket list since the 70's (since the dark book series by VC Andrews...don't recall the name ..Oh, Flowers in the Attic lol) ..have not been that far north yet.

I have found, surprisingly, that hydrogen peroxide
(3%) removes ice cream, chocolate, salad dressing, beet juice, and everything I’ve tried it on. I use it immediately, so carry a mini bottle of it with me.
Dilute the peroxide if using with more delicate fabric as it can have a bleach like effect. It is wonderful on any protein and is the primary ingredient of OxyClean, a detergent additive in the US. I put it in a tiny spray bottle cut with water as it will still work and I don't ruin a hand painted silk. I also blot it off when the stain disappears as it weakened the fiber on something that I had put aside in my bag and forgot about. It is a wonderful trick, I am simply cautious because I have ruined a few things by being flip about care and wasn't careful enough. Now, I have learned and tend to lean towards caution.
I spilt bright red hibiscus tea last month on a burlap table runner and used hydrogen peroxide to get the spot out. Lifted right up!
And blood is how I discovered it but did it take color from anything? I have been afraid to use it on anything but whites for fear it would take colors out

Barbi Button It hasn’t, for me, but I don’t recall using it on delicate fabrics - only cotton, cotton blends, rayon, and polyester. It is probably wise to dilute it, to use on delicate fabrics. You can also rinse the item, after use.

Mummy felt so familiar to me and I couldn't figure out why. It finally clicked. She looks and acts exactly like my grandmother, who passed away from Alzheimer's 5 years ago. She also loved gardening and hunting for beautiful things. Thank you for sharing her with us 💙
